I rode it around, including 150- 160 km rides.. Other than make me very sure about the lack of anything useful with that stupid oil, i had no problems [ luckily :P]

I was pretty unsure about what oil to shift to, then..[ wasnt in the forum and had no idea about motul] Used the thing till 18500kms on the odo!! couldn't see the status of the oil after, but didnt seem to have caused any type of problem...
After which, i directly shifted to motul 7100 and it has been staple for my bike since! If you check my old post about the work done on the engine, you'll see that after 2-3 changes with motul, the engine is super clean inside! There are no issues, engine is very smooth after the work and runs beautifully!!
Bajaj oil is a simple mineral oil and as time goes by and also depending on how you ride your bike the oil tends to loose its lubricating property
Im not only talking about bajaj oil or mineral oil
    All types of oils
Any oil can last upto 10000kms but you never know what damage its causing to your engine
And if you rip your engine the oil tends to degrade faster
Will not cause your engine to cease but I'd rather cease my engine and have it overhauled rather than running it for 10,000kms on bajaj oil and not knowing the damage that its caused

And theres not much harm in using bajaj oil otherwise but you should change it every 5000kms at max
But for better engine life and smoothness use Motul

Oh great. I would love to but my bike's at the service center since past 2 days and will be there for many more days it seems. Reason being a small leakage from the inner petrol tank joint, due to rust formation I heard. The entire petrol tank assy worth 2500-3000 INR will be replaced under warranty. It's not a big deal & could be fixed with other methods but then I wouldn't be albe to claim warranty. And it's never safe to ride if there is any leakage of petrol. Hence, I was told to not use the bike at all.. and leave it at the service center. The spare part has been put on priority order.

utsavchs, I suggest you get in touch with our most active Naked Wolves Delhi n NCR members, perhaps meet up with few of them at our eating point "dhaba" in New Delhi. They're a great bunch and would surely love to hear from someone like yourself who has covered this many miles on 200NS. Many of them are into touring and who knows someone might jump in with you for your upcoming trips.

Let me know if you're interested. I'll forward a message to our naked wolves group page so you can get in touch with them directly through facebook or whatsapp.

And what a conincidence it's my NS' birthday today on 21st Oct. Turns exactly 2 year old and I can't even turn it on. So I'm without 2Wheels atm and quite depressed

I thought NS had the fuel tank assembly made completely of plastic.

BTW anyone got better snaps of the 200NS's new tires? What are the sizes?
          I am back!

I thought bajaj oil was semi synth??

And thats what it is, no? if it screws up your engine, then you can screw them royally back, no?? they cant just claim this 10k figure without atleast some type of assurance that they wont be sued back for their claims.. so for even the below average user, it still has to work.. So, primary goal for HP wouldve been life and minimizing sludge formation, with engine smoothness in the back seat.. Which is all i said.. It is possible for the oil to run till 10k, or even more... But not worth it.. AT ALL... i'd rather spend the extra 200-300 bucks on motul oil just because of their awesome overall performance..

Totally agree and motul oil is cheaper too
But some of us whos bikes are on warranty need to change to bajaj 1st and then change to motul
Everytime I change my oil I get a spare bottle of oil which goes in another bike
Either in my scooter or my Unicorn

What do they put in it emery(grinding) paste?
                Hahaha
If you use even a mineral oil by motul it feels much better than that bajaj crap

The difference is felt just by looking at the oil.. very easy to see the quality..

                        Hey experts!

Have done about 900kms on my 200NS. Touched 80kmph twice till first servicing. Have changed the Engine oil to Motul in the first servicing. I now regularly do c90-100kmph. Just wanted to make sure it is safe for engine to do those speeds so early in to the odo?

Much appreciate your inputs in advance!

different ppl follow different methods of running-in. I generally take it easy upto 1000 kms, and then ride it the way you like it.

                            Hi,
I am new to this thread. completed 4k kms on my 200ns. Recently i am bugged with a fork play problem. mechanic tried to solve it a lot but there is a fair bit of play. Now as a result. the steering of my bike has became hard and it is not at all fun to ride the bike. At low speed in traffic it is really pathetic to ride and i can feel the bike pulling towards right side.would some body please help me out of this thing....

Fork Alignment and a thorough check of the wheel bearings should help IMO.
