P.s- Some amount of fuel leaks from my carb when the bike is tilted. I complained about it to the SVC and they told me it's normal(confused). Is it true?

try to maintain a good amount of fuel in your tank so that you dont have to ride on reserve
Dirt and rust from the tank usually settles to the bottom of the tank and some of it goes into the carburettor when on reserve
Your float chamber over flows when its tilted because the float level is high
It is somewhat normal but you can reduce the float level slightly.

There are a few niggles here & there but I think with the right adjustments / small mods, these can be taken care of.

Don't know if anyone else faces this issue I have been. After rides, even small ones of about 4-5 kms (distance between my home & office) the fleshy parts of my palm pain. Tried putting a grip (the hard one which cost me 150/- ) but the pains didn't go away. A couple of days ago, I replaced the grips to the soft sponge ones for 40/-

Not sure if it's cuz of the insulation of vibrations that the sponge helps with but my pain has actually reduced since then. Also feels more "beefy" to hold the grips now. Vibrations are still there but the feel of the bike is better now.

Am sure with my gloves on, it should feel even better. Should know after a short weekend ride outta Mumbai tomorrow

Sorry if this has been discussed earlier but just posting my experience / observations
Yea i too feel the same after riding for sometime. I dont know if my seating position is wrong, it kind of feel my whole weight is put on that handle bar

I believe the Duke's get the hard spiked type grips, they are atrocious. Grips are the first thing I changed on my classic 180 in Jan/Feb 2002.

I want to change the grips as well but I didn't do it for the lack of a good comfy alternative.

Why don't you try NS grips?
From other brands I think Apache and the ZMR too have good grip. Ditto for the R15.
But I'm not sure they can fit without some modifications.

I've seen many people install some soft grips, but I can't bear to see the sight of those.
          Found these on ebay.

Actually the grips on the RC390 are awesome. They are also a direct fit for my bike. But they are not available yet. I decided to wait so I could get new grips sans modifications.

Thanks for the suggestion bro...that's exactly how I sit when riding the bike...i.e holding the handlebars with a loose gentle grip.

That's how I have been riding since my first Pulsar 150 way back in 2001..

I guess it was the "acupuncture" grips :P

Typing this from Mahuli...90 kms from Malad...Barely any pain now

My route does have some sharp curves and one nice long sweeping curve. And till date I've not run into any uncomfortable situation.

Would love to to hear more about the problems, IIRC didn't your bike too sport 140 section tire?
It's the contact patch, 140/60 is low profile.. if you were leaning your bike real low you'd hit the tyre edges so easily and perhaps get into trouble. I'm not talking about casual leaning, but really low angles for our bike. I try to lean it on Revz-S on most turns n barely get close to the edges. I found I can lean it even more if I have the confidence.. You can't do that on 140/60.. Simply put, 140/60 will only limit your NS' true capability

as good as you'd expect mate. there's nothing you can't do on revz-s... except riding on wet roads with confidence.. which is only possible on pilot street radial series.

Currently using Philips Xtreme vision.. Boy, do they light up.. The area lit up by the low beam increases by another 80%, or more, and its more whitish than normal halogens because of a bluish tint they gave to the front end of the bulb. The tip of the bulb is reflective too.. Increases visibility well. High beam is more brighter too, means i can blind the retards who blind me with their high beams on!! Ive seen a couple of cars swerve because of that [ I gave them more than ample flashing (8-10 high-lows) to lower their beams, they didnt even register it. I mean, i need to see whats in-front of me too!]

I havent seen the osram yet.. But heard they're as good too.. But its some 600/- per bulb for the philips. Same with osram i think.

I had the same doubts when I got the tire, but after installing it I could see that the tire profile is U. Same as the Revz-S.
The original FZ tire (revz-M) has got quite a square profile.
I've been leaning quite a bit (as roads and my confidence permit) and have not had any issues.

I ran into the edge issues when I had a slow puncture and the bike would be all over the place. Thought I made a mistake with these tires, but realised it was a puncture and the pressure was around 18-19 psi. This happened on the third day of my purchase. But no issues now whatsoever.

                            • Happy New year..

200 ns seems to be a bike where the engineers decided that they had created the best possible setup and wanted nobody (not even their service engineers) to mess around with it.

Since it was sunday; thought of doing a long pending change of the coolant to Motocool.

Got my tools and started to take out the nuts and bolts which hold the seat and tank.

Mysteriously after I removed every possible bolt (which was driving me nuts) the tank refused to budge. Scrathed my head and looked arounf to find there is a tube connecting the coolant reservoir to a the tank outer plastic cover.

Removed it and thought mission accomplished.. was I wrong, forgot the fuel line from the fuel tap.Removed it and the fuel tank came out. Whew

Did a change of the coolant as described by smrutisourav

The air filter was the next target.

Removed the bolts holding the air filter cap in place and cleaned out the filter with a vaccum cleaner.

Decided to remove the air filter to see if I could access the carb.

I was feeling like Bomman Irani in Happy New Year when he was opening the safe.

Found I need to unsrew a bolt for the clamp which hold the air filter to the carb.

Used the right Allen key and turned it...

Guess what the allen key began to rotate freely, I had managed to strip the notches on the bolt..

I had to just give up..

So the NS carb is safe for another day or till I find a mechanic willing to go to the trouble to help me.
