    Hello Guys,
Posting here after a long time since i am having a weird issue with my Aug 2013 NS which has run 8200 kms till date.
I observe that when at 4000 rpm in 6th gear, the speedometer indicates a speed of 55-56 kmph, where as just a month ago it used to reach 58 kmph.
Not entirely sure what has happened....i did adjust the chain slackness trying to rectify this issue but its still the same.
Can anyone advice if i have done some major harm to my engine that the speed isn't going to 58 kmph but stuck at just 55 kmph.
    Thanks in advance.

Check the tyre pressure in both wheels. Also, clutch slippage could indicate such speed variations. Any oil changes recently performed on the bike??

        John,
The tyre pressure is 25 Front and 32 Rear.
The clutch seems to be fine with no slippage and no oil change was done. current oil reading is at 1500 kms. Oil used is 1.2 L Motul 20w50 5100.
Only thing that was changed was a swap of the right and the left spark plugs( the smaller ones) and the main spark plug was untouched.
Could this be a reason....i am just guessing.

Adjusting chain slack wrongly can cause this problem. If chain is too tight it'll result in rougher ride with slightly lowered speed. Also check the condition of your sprocket as they tend to wear out quicker on fast bikes. Check the manual to see if your at the correct slack and if your sprocket is healthy. Also the tightness of the rear axle bolt has a direct affect on speed. Check if it is tightened to stock spec coz any tighter and it'll slow the bike down a bit.
Lastly what is your riding style? Fast paced or slow and steady?

            Thanks for the quick response.
Yes, as you advised the chain was the 1st thing i checked and adjusted from the A.S.S. the rear axle bolt was tightened to the correct spec using the right torque gun.
The sprockets look healthy as i have taken good care of them every 700 kms.
wondering what else would be the case for this drop in speed. as i remember this just happened overnight without any change in the bike characteristics.

Is it possible to check it with another 200ns? Could be sensor cable issue....

Yes but he said that his bike has run 1300kms. Which means his run in is over and bajaj usually shifts the 200 and above bikes to FS oil immediately after run in is done. and there is no real harm in running mineral after run in either.

Run in doesn't have any specific amount of km to be covered. So generally, fs is used only after about 4-6k kms to ensure sufficient wear. I don't think Bajaj shifts oil to fs on their own. They may use fs of the bike owner asks them to pour one.... But then again,my friend has stopped with just 2 free services for his bike and refuses to go there. So couldn't check which oil they used..

I am looking to purchase the rear luggage rack for the Pulsar NS... The one that replaces or gets attached to the grab rails. Looked all over for it in Mumbai without any luck. Have seen a few Pulsar NS' with the rack and I found it available on some Columbian website but don't know the cost or if they would ship it.

Please see the pic attached for an idea of what I am referring to. Any help is appreciated.

                          Hi Anuj,

I was riding a Pulsar 220 DTS-Fi before this one, which was followed by a Unicorn, which was followed by a Pulsar 150 DTSi (my first bike bought in 2003).

have clocked little less than 300 kms on it as now. Will write a detailed review once I clock a few more kays on it

Thanks ,never mind got a similar bolt from local hardware store ,fitted perfectly and did a fast revvy run ,no oil leak ,lets see how it holds up .
The broken part which was struck in engine casing ,was taken out via eroding method ,he took 100₹.
What bothered me most was spare part availability of 200ns,
Is bajaj only for commuter bikes ..?
Called up 17(yes you read it right 17 ) svc of east Delhi ,with major players including rajeev raj and fairdeal, which themselves run about 10 svc of bajaj.
No one had a single bolt .
Only 3 svc said it'll take 20 days to order the screw .
REST LITERALLY SAID -WE DONT GIVE A F##K.
                                pathetic bajaj SVC.
Afterwards no bajaj bullsh##t product ,
To bajaj- you just lost a potential pulsar 800ss customer thanks to your well coordinated svc
