Also this issue cropped up when I did a complete coolant change almost a year back..?
Open radiator cap (not the reservoir cap). Check whether level of coolant in radiator is till top. If no, fill to the top. If my guess is right, there's lots of air in the radiator.

Edit: this air will push out when it gets hot, radiator will suck in coolant from the reservoir when it cools down. Result: coolant missing in reservoir.

Ok so here I am -

A few days ago I got some work done on my bike which included a timing chain and tensioner change. The carb has now been tuned at 1.5 @ 1500 like was suggested by krixna and I am loving the feel of renewed performance.

(Damn its hard to make the service guys do what you want them to do, this guy from the svc centre was hell bent on tuning the carb at 3000 rpm instead of 1500 like i suggested. Finally he gave in when I told him if he is not going to do it the way I want him to I will go and call the centre manager !)

However ( lol, this doesnt seem good :P )

The engine noise does not seem to have reduced a lot. The timing chain noise is gone however. In the initial days the engine was way more composite and silent as compared to now. The sound is mainly from the engine head. Could it be the crankshaft wear, piston head and valve impact, or piston ring issues. I am not facing engine oil burnout issues - do not know if its due to synth or the piston doesnt have issues.

From the folks in the NCR region - could someone please advise me of a good workshop who KNOW what they are doing and not just some dumb****s who listen to the sound of the engine and even though there is a distinct metallic sound say "Yeh Bajaj engine mein hota hi hai"

I would recommend you the SVC at okhla, delhi. Goes by the name of Dewan bajaj and has a separate workshop for 200+ cc bikes. The mechanics in my opinion are component enough. You should check it out. Hope it helps

The contact patch of tyre to road is too less for stock tyres . To improve it use 140/60(fz rear tyre) rear & same 100/80 for front , it will reduce comfort due to less sidewall height. But will increase traction.

There is a mechanic named Akhtar over there. He himself owns an NS. And he is the most knowledgeable in my opinion. For the same reason, he is busy most of the times as everybody who knows him, wants him to work on their bike. A tricky situation. I go to the svc for the services only, so i doubt if anybody remembers me that well. But you dont need any references over there. The service is on first come first serve basis so if u reach early enough, you can leave within a couple of hours.

Comfort is tad poor and I dont want to bring it down. I can source 140/70 Michelin pilot street radial. Front tyre suggestions? Comfort and Mileage is top priority, performance is not.

140/70 will form a round profile , which reduces the contact patch Better stick to 130/70 , radials r available in that size too.
Better stick to stock size for front ,or it will make steering heavy.
Zapper fy1 - 2 r good options.

I am not sure how does that happens as I always thought 140/70 is better. My feeling with bike being not grippy would be because of this hard compound euroslip rather than contact patch.

140 should have more contact are when compared 130 though it would appear more round. Another deduction is wider the tyre, better the comfort.

It happens when you put a wider tyre on a narrower rim. Can overcome this to an extent by using a lower profile, say 140/60. Height remains almost same with a difference of only a few mm.

Yes front of ns feels light at higher speed but you'll getting used to it give some time i too had the same feeling whein i switched from p180 to my bro's ns but now i've touched 146 and it feels stable at higher speed (no cross wind)[emoji41]
In windy day riding ns is difficult task it struggles to cross 90 and in cross winds it sway like a pendulum [emoji52]

You are riding a naked,
If you are riding against the wind try to make yourself as small a target for the wind as possible.
Donot hold on to the handle bar tightly.
Do hold on to the tank with you legs tightly.
Sit as close to the tank as you dare.

Move your weight to the front, decrease your front air pressure by 2 psi.

Try any of the above, you should be able to find one which will stop the sway.
