Congrats for your new ride bro. Seems like you got a MRF,thats better. Just do a proper run in,engine braking is advisable. You can reach 90kmph but take it gradually. Your engine so new so it'll take some time to adjust so sometime it feel harsh but it's totally okies. In the beginning rear disc noise is inevitable due to new pad and disc. Create a bond between you and your machine. Enjoy your ride.

Hope 200SS and 400SS are not like RC200 and RC390,totally racing position.

              200NS read mudguard addition

Three screws, and a cut-out piece from 1.5L soda bottle. Permanent relief from mud being thrown up from between the rear mudguards.

                1. 2-3 K
                2. 3-4 K
                3. 4-5 K
                4. 5-6 K
                5. 6 K +

Also, do mention your 200 NS Mileage on highway/city rides.

I generally move within 3-4 k RPM that gives me 40-45 mileage in city limits.

Also, I feel the gear ratio of 200NS is awkward. 1-6 gears are used between speeds upto 50. 45 kmph + and its only the 6th gear that's good.
                Now, aint that awkward?

                  Hi guys,

I own a 1500km old pulsar 200NS. I took it out on a long ride last week, couldn't resist my temptation to rev hard. I stated riding constantly between 90-100kmph for 80 Kms. Did I screw-up my engine? It had run only 700Km when I did this.

I have changed the oil at 500km and 1200km.

No worries. Even I did the same. Well, I did not speed upto the max, but 80+ is normal.

Dere will always be no issues if u keep servicing properly at the specified time

Usually, the piston and rings would have set in fine in the first 500km. So, hope your engine parts had become smooth enough when you did that.
Also, bike engines overheat during the running-in time, if they are revved hard. This is because the air cooling cannot take away the heat generated. The heat generated is more due to more friction of moving parts, still new and un-polished. In the 200NS however, overheating of the engine as a whole can be ruled out due to liquid cooling. But, there can be local overheating and burning out... say, due to friction between the rings and the liner, the rings may get damaged.

                      Pray, hope

Bro, you read too fast and didn't see what he has written. Says he did 90-100 kmph for 80 kilometres at a stretch on a long ride!!

I know it sounds stupid, but is there a non-invasive way to know/find out if rings are damaged?

not unless your bike's piston rings give up prior to normal service limit....

To answer your specific query anyway, a compression test will reveal damaged or worn out rings. A lower compression reading can also be due to leaky valves, so can't be sure :P

But, if there is no unusual sound, no drop in power or mileage, please be at peace nothing bad would have happened

Anyway, try to keep your adrenaline in check

I want to change the front sprocket to 15 and rear to 36 teeth in my 200 NS. Can you advise me from which bike(s) I can get these? The chain size for the NS is 520 I think. My earlier bike was the P150 (chain size 428), and I used the RX100's rear sprocket. Highway cruising was a breeze since I got 70kmph@5000 rpm (in 5th gear, of course).

We all know that 200ns is really gud bike for touring thanks to its comfy seat nd riding position, peppy engine and sweet handling.
Now coming to the actuall query, i like to tour with my friend who rides his own bike but it would be great if we can be in a constant communication as it would be helpfull in many ways.
We both have android phones and i tried using using bluetooth calling apps but they wernt of much help.
think you are looking for this

                                Scala Rider G4 | eBay

we've used Scala systems. very effective. You can connect your own phone and listen to calls/music beside talking to your riding partner. But these are not cheap.

There are some cheaper options available as well. Do google "in helmet communication systems"
