    It was Waxpol's carnauba wax.

      one
Hell yeah!!! I want to learn this trait too as I love to travel and now I have a mode
Nirupam + Pulsar 200NS= Marraige made in Heaven (who needs a wife )
All the best. But trust me you want a wife.

          • @danny king; Anyways be careful bro....you had an accident 2 months before right? And as I remember that was also during a night ride..

And guys, most of us have already removed the rear tire hugger...
Lately I'm thinking of removing the other remaining half also. To make the rear tire look totally naked! But that will expose the chain completely,
also I'm afraid if it would endanger the mono shocks........
Has anyone already tried this ?

It can be removed, but the drawback is on that rainy day you end up cleaning the mess you wouldn't even imagine you thought would be cleaning and at spots you don't want to. Moreover it's there for a reason apart looks, it's main purpose is to protect the areas of rear shocks to prevent dirt accumulation and the rear part of the shockers is a pretty sensitive spot for dust and grime to settle in. I would suggest you not to meddle with them. (god help your arse in cleaning if you intend to remove )

              Cheers!

..I even took it to the svc for removing them. And a guy there told that if something happens to mono shocks, I'll have to visit svc with full
                wallet.
But I wanted to confirm that from here also...

And I met a guy with a 220 last week. He is a performance freak and does some modifications on bike himself. I got a chance to ride his 220 and it had
twice the throttle response than in a normal 220.
He said he changed the spark plugs to iridium ones and used some "high tension wire". I didn't understand the wire part..(may be the throttle cable).
The point is, he said he can improve the low end torque in NS also with iridium plugs and " high tension wire".
Is it safe to do so....? mine reads 4100 kms on the ODO..
The whole set up would be inside a 2000 price bracket i guess. Is it worth? I've no idea at all....
                Do shed light regarding this.

Thanks Nithyan. I am and will always be careful. Yes, I had an accident in a night in Feb.

Since, its summer here and no signs of rain in the near future, I don't think removing the tyre hugger would be an issue.
But come monsoons, you would have to fit the hugger back or your bikes rear area including the rear shocks will be encased in a thick layer of mud and dirt. And not to mention your back, it will be splattered with mud.

                  • Now I am seriously started to love my NS
                    its near 5K on ODO
planned to go for a second service.

yesterday I had made a ride through potholes at-least 6 KM up& down travel
our suspension was not so good (not even nearly good )
but stability was awesome with pillion (was my father,75 years old, who hold firmly on grail bars)
take a ride, without using pressure on handle through potholes, then you will understand what I am trying to say

My riding is so smooth after reading Keith's book. I am trying to change all my riding style from scratch.

From last week I had changed my chain lube from "yamaha lube" to "stick on"
I think its a local Chinese brand. but it worth its money.
now my chain sound reduced by quarter. I am so happy.

Now I am on Agip red 20-50 mineral oil(which was a test) & I am totally satisfied with it.
On second service I am planned to go back to DTSi oil
I prefer mileage & power than smoothness

Also I am planned to tune my carburetor on service; which was not done by SVC after carburetor replacement.

I had got 41 KM/Ltr mileage on last refill (500+500rps)
Still on main. I am sure it will go reserve within 10 KMs
During last period I had made many ripping and made riding over 100KM/Hr many times
Mileage is far better than my old Unicorn ( in my riding style)

Hmm.. The throttle Response / Pickup in normal language wont be double for sure.
Just a bit good / fast because of the quality of Wire.
As our normal wire get loose in a week of usage and then you notice a bit of play (a bit loose) in Accelerator (Throttle hand).
The quality wire probably gonna hold it tight for you for long time than normal one's. so You felt the response good.
                      Got my point ?

As per NGK Spark Plugs are concerned.
They are high priced than the stock one's so they perform a bit better than stock.

Overall you're gonna loose your mileage by 2-3 kmpl for sure.

As per the safety thing you're concerned.
                      • NGK Spark plugs are famous, popular & now available at most of the shops in market.
                      Yes they are safe.
                      • Getting a Good Quality of Throttle wire is not a bad idea.
Only if you think its reliable. Like it wont break when you're throttling up on highway. That's a big panic moment.

                      - You have to be careful if the wire is tight that you wont leave the clutch by mistake on some Traffic Signal & end up messing something. -
And in the end 2000 bucks & you get a bit of more Pickup / Throttle Response.
                      Does it count?
On a Traffic signal is there be like some P200-NS gonna stand in line & wait for green light ?
And Wohaa You see them all in RVM. That's catchy but bro. that wont count when you have some Platina, CBR 250, P220 with some cars, auto standing next to you or when you have a road that's under construction from years.

                        Hi Nithyan,
the High tension wire here refers to the Gauge of the wire that connect the ignition coil and the spark plug. the voltage at the tip of a spark plug carries 20,000 to 35,000 volts. it is very huge. the wire even that comes as a stock is a high tension wire. but changing it to higher gauges makes it more reliable and conductive providing less resistance to the flowing current. you can find modded ignition wires in tuned cars. and gauge actually refers to the thickness of the twisted copper wires inside harness. generally the high quality wires even get a gold alloy coating over copper for better conductivity....hope it helps you...

                          • The 200 NS has Three spark plugs, and the Center one is the Master which is at work all the time....so changing this Spark Plug to NGK "G" power will definitely show improvement.
Regarding the High Tension wire, it is the wire that connects the Ignition Coil to the Spark plug through the plug cap....again a straight through NON RESISTIVE cable is the best. ...This can be used ONLY if the either the plug cap or the plug contains the 4.7 K Ohms resistor in it...the resistance is to reduce RFI radiation ...too many resistors or too high a value , beyond 4.7 K Ohms will reduce spark energy and power.
A NGK "G" power is a superior plug and gives better acceleration and FE...An Iridium plug gives better spark and LASTS LONGER... Both gives better Cold Start, and reliable ignition.

my otherwise an awesome 2 month old pulsar 200 NS makes some rattling sound which i can feel coming from somewer under the seat. it happens only on uneven roads. no matter how hard im trying to locate the source , but to no success as yet. cud sum1 tell me the probable reasons??? ... i dont mind checking all possiblities!! the mechanic last time said it was from the loose steering nut but i dont think so.. its sumwer under the seat!

Here is what we had done recently in Bengaluru.
We thought of an Safety awareness ride about how anyone can ride a bike safely. So we "Naked Wolves" executed this plan and was a grand success, with 50 fellow 200NS riders.

We were featured on News 9.

And here is a tribute to xBhp as this was the forum from where we got the fellow riders in our group (Naked Wolves Bengaluru).
