    Mark,
I'm using Motul 7100 for the last 10K KM. I've changed them at 5k KMS interval which I feel is pretty conservative.
While draining the oil I could see that it had not turned totally black. But since my daily run of around 75-80 KMS includes some hill sections, open roads and city roads I thought its best to stick to 5K KMS. I also consistently get 45-46 KMPL, so I'm more than happy with my ride.

    Of course, YMMV.

    Cheers

YOU MEAN PERSON. You didn't have to mention that mileage.

      I'm only getting around 32.

        I get 34

Then I find solace in the fact that I was never looking for mileage

Even I'm not looking for mileage, but still, these people shouldn't be so inconsiderate towards those who don't get a good mileage. It hurts my feelings and my wallet.

Haha!! I don't how you ride, but 32 KMPL is abysmally low.

Neither am I but each time I do the math I am pleasantly surprised. I have a classic 180 and that would barely cross 35 KMPL that too after rather sedate riding.
Now my NS, has reduced my travel times and at the same time, made it cheaper. WIN-WIN, if ever there was one

            Cheers

                Hi arumperu,

This is the only thing that is keeping my hands tied in getting the NS.

Please give more details like where you got the foot peg and how did you assemble.

I see a weld at the rear attachment and screws how did you do that.

                Also, where are you located?

                Sorry for two many questions

                  Sure.

The foot peg is of Discover 135 which I got it after some waiting as it was not available in Bajaj showroom and got it from a Bajaj spare parts dealer after few days of waiting. Rs.375 or so including the bolt & screw of 135. Particularly in this one, the foot peg could be removed from the saree guard by unscrewing the bolt. The same is not possible with most of the saree guards. One another option I had was the saree guard of Hero Passion which also works the same way (But again not all). see attached pictures

The left side socket screw of the 135 was thicker and lengthier, but the one in 200 was thin and short. So I got a lengthier and thinner socket screw, which was fixed to the left side of 135 foot rest using screw washer to hold, since the hole of 135 foot rest was big.

For the right side, we tried to remove the U clamp from the 135 saree guard which was weld strongly and it broke away. When the workshop friend was trying to find a solution, I tried fixing the right side part using the screw and bolt of 135 alone. It worked and was looking strong enough, especially as the right side of the foot peg was literally sitting over one of the metal pipe of 200 saree guard. But the workshop person insisted on a weld for additional hold and I agreed. He himself got little black paint from the welder and painted the welded portion.

Before welding I checked the position of the foot peg for comfort and it was very much ok even for shorter pillion rider. And my wife uses this one instead of the default foot rest even to climb the vehicle and it looks strong.

I am attaching the pictures. And please mail me if any help you require.

I am living in Manipal of Udupi district, Karnataka and my home town is Nagercoil of Tamilnadu.

                  Hope this helps you.

And sorry if it is too brief or if you find anything wrong in the writing, since I am writing it from my office.

                    Thank you so much bro.

Great write up and explanation. My hometown is Tirunelveli and I'm in chennai currently, we will meet up one day hopefully. [emoji4]

                    One more query bro.

The second picture is of hero's Saree guard?

I only see a attachment at the left side of the Saree guard to the 200ns and nothing at the top.

Is there a way to attach the top of the Saree guard in NS?

Will it be able to handle the weight and stress of the pillion rider?

Yes, I do hope we meet someday. Let me know if you happened to come anywhere nearby and I will let you know if I come to chennai or nagercoil.

It is not hero's saree guard. It is actually Discover 135 saree guard.

I have not attached the whole 135 saree guard to 200. I have taken only the foot rest part of the 135 saree guard and fixed it to the already existing 200 saree guard.

It will require some alteration to fix the whole saree guard to the top of the bike, especially 200 NS having its pillion seat at a height more than normal and in my opinion would spoil her beauty.

We (me and my wife) had a few shot trips with this foot rest and didn't have any problem. I checked even after our last trip and found not even a millimeter of shake from its fitting. I think it should work long and especially will not give up suddenly because it sits over the existing saree guard. And the pressure we give to the footrest after sitting in the pillion seat is far less and is only for a support & balance. So I think there is no reason to worry.

                      Like to hear from you.

Does anybody use Hiflo HF155 or K&N KN-155 oil filter? Which is better, except original Bajaj?

Yesterday i set my rear suspension on the hardest and now my handling is really really sweet encouraging me more on cornering. Best setup for twisty trail. Only the gear lever is problematic. Its seems high to me to upshift. I lower its angle down and had a problem of mis shift from neutral to 1st gear all the time, totally embrassing. Is anyones using Duke gear lever on NS? Is it a direct fit?

Why always the SVC guys never accept the problems we are facing and they say it's normal engine sound blah blah blah.... Are you facing the same issues with the SVC's.
When I said "I can sense some vibes on the foot pegs at 21Kmph . One guy rode it and said it was fine." I think they are looking Me cheap as it was the first free service.

My Blue NS is the first bike of Family and I want it to maintain it properly. But these SVC guys aren't even cared about their customers. They weren't even ready to check the bike.

P.S : Problem arised after first service

Svc mechanics have nothing against you or your bike, its just that they don't want to increase their work load by taking on every bike that comes with a small but time consuming problem. If they think the bike can run just fine even with the problem they'll just dismiss it to save work.
Its your responsibility as an owner to prove to the svc that your problems are genuine and show them they can't escape fixing them. Be tough with them, fight a little but don't go overboard.
