Nicely done bro. How is the beam spread and exactly how much did the xtreme vision bulb cost you?
Can anyone tell me where to buy Philips xtreme vision bulb in Hyderabad?

In Pune, the service center i visit is closed on sunday, but some other are open on sundays. so i guess its not a company policy but is decided by service center owners

If you are contemplating a tyre change, Michelin Pilot Street Radial provides best grip in both dry and wet among the available options in India, apart from metzlers. My opinion.

The width is almost the same you can expect from normal bulbs.. What you notice is that the area lit up directly by the bulb is more.. So you can see a good chunk of the road lit up. Good for seeing potholes well. Even those far away unmarked humps are kind of seen [at least a shadow] . Which is seriously helpful for when you're at a good speed..
The bulb cost me around rs550/-

Definitely Male -

**** Wrote this review in 2013 but just got to posting it now

10's of thousands of Kilometers, 11 years, 4 failed relationships (read 4 ex's :P ), 3 Job changes...One constant throughout these ups & downs has been my "Silky Red" Pulsar 150...the original unfaired Pulsar with the round headlamp. Unrefinement aside, my bike never failed me through some memorable rides as well as through some crazy weather. Honestly,I have not maintained the 150 as well as I should have & although it has broken down within the city a few times these last 6 months, I attribute most of the breakdowns & issues as my faults.

Sadly knowing that the 150 would not be accompanying me on my trips anymore,I walked into a Honda showroom in Fort, South Bombay. Took a test ride of the bike & immediately fell for the linear power delivery & superbike looks. Took a quotation from the sales rep & left the showroom with the gears turning in my head figuring out the savings required each month to afford the downpayment for the CBR250. Lots of reviews later, my girl & I walked into a showroom at Byculla to check out the newest offering from the Bajaj stable. One test ride later, I fell in love again with the new member of the Pulsar family. My girl loved the look of the bike.

Took a personal loan a week later, walked into a showroom at Kandivali (Morya motors) paid the amount upfront (Rs 92,000/- all inclusive) & waited for the bike to arrive at the showroom for delivery. 4 days later, when I went to the showroom, I was all excited to just grab the keys & head for the hills...however thankfully I had taken my girl along who noticed a few scratches & shoddy stitching on the seat... Asked the guy at the showroom to replace the bike as we were in no mood to pay 1st hand money for a bike that already looked second hand. he refused to budge, so we asked him for the cash back & headed home. We headed to Atharva motors in Malad where the guy offered to get a bike delivered the same evening while quoting a price of Rs 96,000/- all inclusive. He seemed a little more customer friendly & I felt that if the bike had any issues, he would help sort them out as they also have a workshop attached to the showroom... Handed the cash over to him...Then the wait began... AGAIN!!

14th December at 8:00 p.m. I was handed the keys to my new RED PULSAR 200NS!! Boy, was I over the moon. Loved the sound of the engine when it first started up. Took delivery of the bike & headed home. The paperwork for registration would take a few days & I had no intention of riding the bike anywhere outside my area before the paperwork was complete. First impressions of my ride from the showroom to my house.

1: Call me nostalgic but the transition from the 150 to the 200NS in terms of riding position seemed almost non-existant!! Which is a good thing!
2: Although I didn't cross 40kmph, the engine seemed genuinely eager to be pushed harder.
3: Dropping it into neutral was still a bit of an issue (a typical Pulsar trait) but not something that was going to stop me from enjoying this beast!
4: Once parked below my building, I remembered what I had read in reviews earlier, about the bike handle just having the option to be locked on the left side...This is annoying since I have a habit of locking the 150 on the right side.
5: The bike really looks like a beast with it's naked streetfighter look, exposed radiator & massive engine.

For the 1st 10-15 days, I just rode the 200NS in the bylanes around my house since I did not want to give in to the urge of taking it out on open roads...which would have encouraged me to go hard on the throttle. Did not want to mess up the bike's run-in period so took it slow for the first few weeks. The engine seems well suited for rides in the city as it pulls from any gear even at low speeds. After the first few weeks, once I had the paperwork complete with all documentation in hand (insurance papers & tax receipt), I made a day trip with my girl on my 200NS & another friend on his black Pulsar 220FI.

We planned a short trip to Vasai since he wasn't used to riding on the highway & had only previously ridden within the city. We met up in the morning & reached Vasai in about 40 minutes from Malad. Since we all were still fresh, we decided to ride on for some more time. Once back on the highway, the engine was more begging than encouraging me to push harder...& push I did! The Gujarat highway that runs through Daman is an awesome road to let it rip. We touched 130+ while consistently riding at 100kmph. I remember touching 136 kmph on the speedo. Considering the speedo error of 6+ kmph on the Pulsar 200 NS, that's 130 kmph that I touched

Got the main stand fixed for 800/- during the first service at the Bajaj service centre at Kandivali. That was a good decision as I've parked it on the main stand almost everywhere...specially in parking areas with limited space. A few weeks later, I heard an a slight rattling sound from the rear tyre. Got the bike checked at the service centre at Malad and realized that the bolt that connects the rear mud guard had fallen off!! The left leg guard also had broken off at the bolt after a recent ride to Lonavala that included rides over some seriously bad (or lack of) roads. Got these fixed and set off again all smiles on my bike

********** Cut to the present / Nov 2014

Have made a few trips on my "Faithful 2.0" since the last 2 years, and every ride has been fun and exciting. On one of my recent rides while returning, I had a heart-in-my-mouth experience. Was cruising at about 70-75 kmph when a bus passed me at a frightening speed. The wind almost knocked me and the bike down no thanks to the stupid "Euroslips". Immediately stopped at the first tyre shop I came across and changed the rear tyre. They didn't have the Pireli speed demon which I had read decent reviews about and settled for the Ceat Dhoom 3 series tyre. The shop guys did not offer any exchange on the Eurogrips but was so disgusted with it that I just paid the 3800/- for the new tyre and left the "Euroslip" tyre there. Immediate feel of the tyre was much better grip and stability. Checked the fuel average from full tank to full tank and there wasn't much difference so no compromises there.

Some of my memorable rides on my Failthful 2.0 include Mahabaleshwar, Malshej, Bhandardhara, Mahuli, Lonavala, Neral, Jawhar and a few others

I am under no illusion that my bike is the best in the world and after riding my friend's KTM Duke 200 and the CBR 250 the build quality and refinement are obvious but at this price point, the Pulsar 200 NS is excellent value for money and to me is a complete package within reach of folks that want a good bike without having to burn holes in their pockets. I've found it a great ride within the city as it has decent torque and pull in crawling traffic as well as the muscle to cruise along at high speeds on the high ways. Oh yeah, with the Dhoom 3 (I know...cheezy name but real good tyre!! ) is a treat to attack corners on...specially on twisties in the hills!! That's where this beast and I really become one and share the fun!!

Picked up the following to make my rides more comfortable:
Rynox tank bag (non-magnetic one) from A.H Helmets in Andheri for 6000/-
KTM saddlebags - Viaterra from A.H Helmets in Andheri for 2900/-
LS2 jacket for my girl to keep her safe on our rides from LS2 helmets at Andheri for 6900/-

Am on the
lookout for touring accessories for the NS but unfortunately they are hard to find. Have contacted Hindustan Motorcycles for their touring visors and received a reply but am waiting since the last 4 days for another response from them. If anyone knows where I can get decent stuff for the bike, please PM me

Thanks for reading...Gear up, Ride safe and God Speed!!

Yeah that is exactly what is needed on the highway. On the highway buses, trucks and cars shine their lights on high beam and blind oncoming traffic. Is the bulb helpful in that situation. you did say the overall illumination is better but to what extent?
Anyway thanks for the price bro. Now if only I could find this bulb in Hyderabad.

Just noticed the different numbers on my bike in the initial pics and later ones. The guy who rode the bike from the godown till the showroom did so on a fake number until he handed the keys over to me at the showroom. That's when they changed the number to my actual registered one.

Don't know how safe / legal this practice is...got to know about this only when I got my bike...

Did i miss anything here? The tyres had very little role to play here, unless you braked hard or did something that the tyres were unable to take!

Imho, the lack of fairing on the NS added to the poor grip (or lack of, on the Euroslips) tend to make the bike less stable at high speeds...

No, I did not "brake hard or do anything that the tyres were unable to take"...was just cruising below 80...

I've had no such experience since I've changed the rear tyre...

sunilg : yes this is the same tool kit, that we got with our NS.

Infact i today read for the first time, what is written on the pouch containing tool kit. It says the tool kit is same for all pulsars.

This according to me is a cost cutting measure since i also have the earlier tool kit of P150, which is clearly different and the old one also had a spanner for rear shock absorber adjustment, which is missing in this new one.

It is really difficult to source that rear shockup adjustment spanner.

Guys I have a small issue.

For the past few days, my bike feels powerless around 4-6k rpm range. Above that also, the pickup is slow. It feels as if the bike is almost running on reserve. Sometimes it feels like I'm pulling a big load behind me.
Went to the svc today, and the guy adjusted the petrol knob and the CO level. Said that the petrol flow was very little.

After that, the bike feels smooth, but the engine is heating up a lot. Never happened before. What might be the issue?

I feel that the carburetor needs cleaning. The bike is 12k kms old, and the carb has never been cleaned. I will get that cleaned on Thursday. Apart from that, can anyone think of what might be the issue?
_______________________________

Secondly, I am currently using Philips Diamond vision. Can anyone tell me what is the difference between Diamond vision and Xtreme vision?

Looks like you are running on lean mixture. Tune the Carb to perfect mixture and things will be good. Also, check condition of clutch plates.

Well, its better.. But not enough to blind trucks or anything big.. Its just one bulb, you've got to remember that.. But it is noticeably better than the stock halonix bulbs.. Good enough for defending against cars..
