You are correct about MRF Zapper FX, it's a definite alternative to our front Eurogrip tyre which is already sticky enough. But I may try it just for a change, thanks for reminding abt this tyre.
Revz-S which offers great traction on dry tarmac is clearly the best stock rear replacement tyre for riders inexperienced with NS' handling. But believe me, the rear Eurogrip isn't too far behind on dry tarmac and offers better traction (if any) than Revz-S in wet conditions. This is as told by few people using the same tyre in their 200NS. Our rear Eurogrip is more reliable in varied terrains.. I think I've understood this tyre's behaviour very well and I don't wanna play with bike's dynamics. Hence, probably, I'm going to stick to it ! Still a few thousand Kms to go till I change, so u never know..
I beg to differ about the Eurogrips in the wet. I never got any confidence with them. Once you try the Revz, there is no going back.

It loses its charm. So the gradual process won't work so while braking hard wheel tends to get lock that most on the Nsians complains so i prefer engine braking at that moment. I ain't trying to convince anyone to keep eurogrip. Its just i've adjusted myself with it with my confidence level.
Then you are better rider than I am. These Revz have been a revelation. I wasn't expecting a lot from them, but after using them for close to 1.5K KMS I could not be happier.
The biggest difference for me has the grip in the wet.
I don't know how much it rains in Kathmandu, but here in Bombay its been raining buckets and these tires have not let me down.

I agree about the brakes losing bite in the rain, but I suspect thats due to air pockets in the brake lines.

If you're in doubt than just change it. Be on safe side and its inevitable. I hope your tyre is still new so you'll get a good price.

Sorry friend its not about who's better rider cuz i'm not. I'm just a plain stupid guy who's still riding with eurogrip with odo 7K and i admit it. It just my personal experience for that matter.Ofcourse soft compound tyre better wet grip on tarmac, universal truth but people even my guys think with eurogrips 'if you lean you'll slip so better change it'. What the f**k with their concept of their own!! Its makes good contact with the tarmac on dry condition (you agreed too). Only people won't be able to do stuff in wet condition cuz its a hard compound tyre for a god sake. What do you expect? But it still provide decent grip on wet to commute. Isn't it! The only time i took a fall is when i tilt it bit much on rainy day to check on it and i loses the ground, now thats what is called slipping and i get it at which level it give up. I think most of the people faces wheel locking not tyre slipping issue. I ain't no ambassdor of EUROGRIP and i don't give a shit if its market goes down it just it ain't a horrible tyre. But you know better to upgrade than to be too late. Euro grip is just saving my life making me a decent rider on rainy days.

Did the 4th servicing today... ..
Cleaned air filter, chain, fresh batch of oil and oil filter, and oh boy... bike feels like its almost new from showroom!!!
Also tuned carb for slightly rich mixture(4 full turns)..
Rest else everything is stock.. Used to get 42 kmpl in daily college commute and around 45ish kmpl on highway runs and long tours.. Lets see how the new setting turn out to be!!
I havent checked plugs since after 1 servicing.. does it need attention?? not having any problems but just asking as a part of general check -up!

          My rides :-)

Check and adjust the chain slackness and oil the chain. If this does not helps then change the sprockets and chain.

Chain and Sprockets are not covered under warranty. These are wear & tear parts just like clutch plates, etc

It should not affect the warranty. Depends on your dealer though

10000 kms. Completed in around 7 months.
Bike is still like brand new and engine is smooth having great throttle response.

                          UPDATE:

                          Post 30k on odo.

Major issues- cam chain rattle, needs replacement soon ( no warranty) approxd to around ₹800/-

                          (~₹365/- chain, ₹62 for chain sliders, ₹350-450 labour. )

Power is a bit down as a result.

                          Misc.

Second pair of tyres. Eurogrips changed at 19.5k and 24k rear and front resp.Pirelli SDs rear. Tvs att 230 front. Pirellis are almost done. Tvs still looks new.

                          Small vibes, negligible.

                          Clutch plate still seems good.

Spark plugs replaced at 25k ( late, didnt know :P) iridiums (cr8eix slaves and stock Bosch master)

No major mods. Mostly highway runs ( avg- 40-50 kms on a workday. 100-300kms alt weekends )

Total Crashes: 1 - all painted body panels are new- shabby parts- already fading in regular friction areas. No issue to frame, engine, gearbox after crash.

P.S gone through 2 rocker arms now. Both of them exhaust port arms. Seems to be a bit unreliable. ( SVC said they've been seeing quite a few nowadays. All with the same rocker arm failure.)

                            Guys,
                            Yet another tire related query.
Does anyone know the rim size of the Yamaha FZ? Is it the same as our NS?

Now that I am getting more confident with these Revz-Y tires, I am starting the lean the bike more nowadays. And with the rain gods abating I can see some dry roads now.
So all this has led to some findings. When leaned over, the rear feels very uncertain. As in I can feel it move quite a bit. Hence the query about the FZ rim size.
The bike is perfectly planted on small lean angles. Could this be due to the different profile of the Revz-Y as compared to the Revz-S or eurogrips for that matter?
I feel the S and Eurogrips are more rounded than the Revz-Y.

Or this issue is something else altogether?

                            Looking to your response.

                            Regards

Even though bajaj's recommended oil grade of ns is 20w50, is a switch to oil having a grade of 15w40 safe ??
