If that's the case, then most 4 stroke bikes including pulsars, clockwise has always been leaner and anticlockwise richer.

Did you mean the other way around ? Sorry i've never checked out a p200ns carb. Can you pls post a pic of the carb and point out which is the 'afr' screw you are talking about.
Ive never had personal experience with other pulsars but that's what people have told me. Whatever info ive typed about the 200ns carb is correct and i didnt mean it the other way round.

The idle screw is located to the RH of the bike, just above the clutch cover and if you peep inside from that area, you can see a tiny screw and that's for AFR. It's basically a fuel screw and not air screw. If i had an image i would send it. You can google '200ns afr screw xbhp' and you may find an image which was originally posted here indicating location and direction of rotation of afr screw.

Coincidentally this happened to me today. Beats putting so much concentration into it. Btw im back to the trouble free yellow stock pilots. I think it looks quite nice.
      Cheers!

it just requires removal of four ln bolts on the side and removal of wires only? thats easy i think.

Hmm.. ok, its not a 'different' carb from other pulsars. Its like any other carb used on most 4 strokes. clock wise i.e. tightening it makes it lean and anticlockwise unscrewing it makes it rich.
if you either make it too lean or too rich, the engine will eventually die because you are either cutting of fuel or increasing it so much that the afr is too rich and the engine cuts offs. Also If you set a wrong idle and try fiddling with the afr screw you will mess up the carb setting.
remember, 4 strokes carbs usualy have a fuel screw (which on turning either way meters the 'fuel' part of the a-f-r mix) and 2 strokes usually have a air screw which meters the 'air' part of the a-f-r. the aim is to achieve an afr ratio of around 14.6:1 for optimal combustion and efficiency. on 2 strokes for e.g the rx100 clockwise is rich because u r reducing the 'air' part and anticlockwise is lean cos you are increasing the air part of a-f-r.

On most desi 4 stroke bikes, a safe places to start off for those not familiar with the setting (or if u messed up the carb setting), is to set the afr screw out by 3 full (360 degree) turns from fully seated position and adjust the cold idle to around 1100rpm. Then ride for a couple of km and make the necessary finer adjustments based on how the bike behaved and plug readings.
the afr screw is just a term used colloquially.. a more 'sophisticated' way of saying it (by some manufacturers) would be volume screw or alike.. and the choke part is also called an enrichment circuit in the carb.

You dont even have to unplug any other wires or cables. They are pretty long. Remove those bolts, keep the led holes open, shake the unit and it will fall out like i said.

Yeah, of course! Youll know when its coming to reserve.. Therell be small jerks when riding, and youll feel a loss of power. Just turn the knob and you;re in reserve.

need one more help, please suggest horn from ebay, tried dual setup one pulsar 180 horn with stock horn, the sound was weird along with no sync, sometimes more sound sometimes less, so please suggest stock replacement horn from ebay.

please someone upload the pic of dual horns attached in ns as i could not find suitable place to attach one.

Did you use a relay ? If you are adding an additional horn or an aftermarket horn, pls use a relay in the circuit (any mechanic who is capable of installing an additional horn should know this) and don't pair the oem horn with a different secondary horn
You can use the roots windtone horn pair along with a relay.. Or there are other local/chinese horns too if you want to spend lesser money.

As i said earlier, if ns was fuel injected, number of posts on this thread would've been 1/3rd.

My bad. Apologies for inconvenience caused, if any, by my post.
The SVC manager did mention about a "faired/FI Pulsar 200" being launched around Oct ... Claimed that his mechs have completed training already .. Might help reduce "idle/ing" posts ...

Tell your friend to visit a good mechanic outside the service center and ask him to open and read either of the slave spark plugs. If the burn is perfect then the idle rpm setting is too high (the rpm stays at 1.5k during cold which seems normal and shoots up to 3k after warming up) and if the burn shows a rich burn, then the afr screw needs fiddling with.

VERY IMPORTANT: the ucd 33 carb on our NS is different from the other pulsars that the non-service-center mechanics are familiar with. Its important to notify them that CLOCKWISE rotation of the afr screw makes it LEAN and ANTICLOCKWISE makes it RICH. Its the opposite on other pulsars.

Thank you Aditya for your detailed reply ..
Im genuinely surprised by this known issue and the fact that Bajaj ASS as passing it off as "completely normal" .. !

Not very keen on taking a brand new bike to a local mech. Will wait and see, if the issue re surfaces, will ensure that Bajaj ASS gets it fixed.

I brought a 250₹ dual horn pair, using it without relay and it is so loud that i haven't pressed it for more than 3 sec since 1 year of its inception. It is kickass and is more equivalent to skoda car horn.now imagine that on a naked bike

if its the same current rating as the stock horn you wouldn't have a problem. but it is still recommended to use a relay to protect your wiring, switch.

Guys...i tried starting my bike today and it didnt for the first two or three times...but after that it did start up and went for a small distance after which i stopped and killed the engine. When i tried to restart it, nothing happened at all and theres just this clicking sound i could hear every time i pressed the starter button. I had just used it the day before so it cant be because of the bike lying idle for too long. Ps. Its raining a lot, and theres no parking area so it gets wet every time. Might be relevant. Also, switching the choke didnt help.

Try push starting the bike..IF it starts, check your starter motor or its wiring. OR if you dint want to mess with it, go to SVC. Its mostly shorted from the rain.

First get the battery/wiring checked. If the battery is found ok, then the relay/starter soleniod and if not this finally check the starter motor.
