I enquired at bajaj about the oil filter and he said change interval is 10000 kms . My poor filter has already seen a wide range of oils and conditions but I think I'll let it be for now.
And of course, get the AFR tuned to richer. That should do away with the bad pickup and flat spots if any.

Maybe the clutch plates are gone, or not fitted properly when last removed for cleaning. And you got the brake bleeding done? What oil did you fill back in? Dot3, dot4 or some other? Made sure there were no air bubbles?
Btw how is it that yours used to run at 62 km/h at 4k rpm? Mine runs at 59 km/h at 4k, 6th gear. Is it the variation in speedo error or should I get my bike checked? And do any of the ktm owners too face this speedo error?
yes i know that clutch plates could be the only reason but how could the clutch plates go just like that in 6k kms? btw there is a lot of variation in speeds on different ns.. how much does your bike do on exact 5k rpm? mine was 75 earlier..now its 72-73...
please do let me know how much your bike do on 6k rpm.... and at what rpm it does 100...

All speeds in 6th gear without pillion ( my weight 63 kgs )
        @ 4k rpm : 56.5
        @7k rpm : 100

And its been the same since I bought the bike...

Otherwise KT-1211 fits like a gem on the Duke 125 , 200 & 390...& considering that some of the parts are shared b/w the Duke & 200 NS , KT 1211 should fit on the NS as well...
I checked today, air filter is same as in duke...And felt bad after it took 3 mechanics to open my bike and clean air filter....It so easy to open in duke... ..So now i understand why they were reluctant to do in workshop...He had open nearly 12 to 14 nuts, bolts and screws to open tank cover, remove tank also connecting pipes of tank and then open air filter.

and yes , its a pain to access the Air filter on the NS...

Does it aids in providing more bite or more feedback ??
Because a friend of mine who owns a P220 DTS-i hates the brakes on his bike...he keeps asking me what he can do to get as much feedback as on the NS...

                  All speeds in 6th gear:
                  4k: 59 km/h, 5k: 72 km/h and 6k: Maybe 85+ I'm not sure coz beyond 5k I don't really look at the tachometer. I'm not sure of the 100 km/h either. Only, I managed 142 km/h at 9k on the tacho.
About the clutch plates, I had seen once in the duke's ownership thread that some guy changed his banged up plates at 10000 kms. Why was the clutch side of the engine opened anyways?

He must have unscrewed each and every screw of the tank assembly. Recently when the air filter on my bike was cleaned the guys just opened around 4-5 screws and he lifted the entire tank assembly and had to unplug the fuel gauge and 1 petrol tube and another tubing dont know what that was for. I think it was the fuel overflow pipe.

On the braking department, the ByBre setup provides amazing braking performance both front and rear and one has to get used to this kind of braking in this kind of motorcycle. The motorcycle comes with the regular rubber pipe brake hose, which does the job absolutely perfectly, but I've personally upgraded mine to steel braided brake lines which gives that extra strong bite when the need be. I'm a believer of the philosophy that you should have your resources at your disposal and might not use them, rather than not have them when the need be...
I think this is the guy....And his blog Throttle
He is active member of xbhp but not in ownership thread i guess.

                      • is the LHS console assembly (the one horns, indicator switch, hi-lo beam etc.) of the KTM compatible on the Pulsar 200NS. I am just not very comfortable using the NS indicator switch.

Also has anyone come across the workshop manual for the NS ?

                          aah you got me

You are true.. I've been on and off this thread!!

So, I've changed both the front and the rear brake lines to steel braided and they are not from 220... they are entirely different. As I've always said, just having the brake lines to steel braided won't make much difference, after changing the steel braided, the brakes have to be calibrated properly, and I totally trust my mechanic for this. The braking performance is phenomenal post the steel braided "upgrade" My mechanic did that for me for free as a gift on purchasing the new bike as he knew I suffered an immense loss when my previous bike was stolen. But yeah, I know for sure that the entire setup would cost at least 1k including the steel braided lines and labor charges.

Let me know if more information is required.
Twist your wrist and feel the shift!!

                          My own thoughts - Throttle

need more info...i always thought u used p220's....Plz provide more details about steel braided lines...Sometimes i think i'll not make my rear brake to use steel braided lines as it might start working as on/off switch...But sometimes i feel, it might become controllable...Anyway please provide details with pic if possible...And a good review of it..And if possible possible adjustments required..
Hopefully, I'm not asking too much

Thank you for this. from the images they do look compatible. White backlight would better than the blue one. I hope the connectors are also compatible. Will try to get this mod done.
