That's actually a handbrake...the lever for this one is usually placed on the handlebar below the clutch lever so as to brake while doing a wheelie , the one involving greater angles...Originally posted by J K View Post
Nope...its for stunting...it provides a good place to put the feet while doing a wheelie in a circular trajectory...or doing wheelies involving greater angles...etc.Originally posted by smrutisourav View Post

more than the sound, its the heat that gets u.. especially in bumper to bumper traffic.. i think people from blore will know what it feels like going around ring roadOriginally posted by smrutisourav View Postya u can play with afr and all...but my advice is tolerate till 2000km, after that it will be fine, i know its irritating in traffic...another thing u can do is rotate idling screw, which will decrease idling rpm so u can bring increase in rpm to below 2000, do it when its at or above 2000 rpm, but this will lead cold starting probs, but can be managed by choke...my advice is tolerate till running period over and dont play with afr atleast during running period...
MODs: Plz delete this post, tried alot to delete, but its givin me database error and not getting deleted..
will try half a turn on the afr and see how it behaves

cold start, not really! but i do have heating issues.. noticed the radiator fan running on the first day only :P my first service is quite some time away.. can i tune it myself? if yes, how many turns on the afr?Originally posted by ankur2smart View PostWell you are correct, it's because of AFR. You are running lean( as per my exp).
Are you facing heating issue & cold start?

Remove carb, remove the jets, and drill the holes to required dimension or get bigger jets. Upjetting done.

Oh... Nice....
Go for LS2. Extend upto 2.8K. Get a good brand. Vega is not a good brand. Its only for show-off... Get a full face helmet.. Not a motocross like one.Originally posted by avi_nash94 View PostCan someone suggest me a good helmet within a 2-2.5k budget.I like the Vega Off-Road very much but was not satisfied with its fit and finish(I suspect that it might be a fake one) and the fact that it has no visor and has a poor visibility.A flip-up helmet will be more preferred as I wear glasses and it becomes really difficult to put on the glasses after wearing the helmet. Also please suggest the place where to buy in Kolkata .Most probably will be buying it in May as my exams are near and my bike will remain in the garage for most of time. Thanks in advance....

so basically you are saying that your cold start rpm and and idle rpm at engine's optimum operating temp. remains same??Originally posted by twinblades View Postthe same does not happen for me. idle remains the same from what i can remember!!!and the question remains why do i race?

Well you can always tune it but as you are not having cold start issue, I would recommend you to give some time to bike. It's just too new. See out 200 kms or soOriginally posted by Just_Chandu View Postcold start, not really! but i do have heating issues.. noticed the radiator fan running on the first day only :P my first service is quite some time away.. can i tune it myself? if yes, how many turns on the afr?
@everyone:
GT 250r has a very nice feature where in if the rider starts the bike while the side stand is engaged then the bike will stop moving immediately
Any idea of how to install the same to our NS. Lastly, I have clocked almost 3100kms. I was wondering if it will be a good idea to get the 2nd service done a bit early than recommended as per manual. Suggestions????

It won't harm the bike for sure...also its a very good practice if you are certain that you won't be able to clock 9,500 kms within 240 days of ownership...Originally posted by ankur2smart View PostWell you can always tune it but as you are not having cold start issue, I would recommend you to give some time to bike. yesterday filled nitrogen in my tires, one of the bharat petroleum pump in my city is giving it and its free... But i don't find any difference, i heard it would make bike little lighter while riding. Anyway they used machine named nitrogen 5000. Earlier i heard in bangalore and all it costs more than 200 rs, so it is little hard for me to digest that its free here.

5 months / 10,000km done today
3rd service coming up next week.. spoke to the svc manager and he said he can adjust 50-100 km over 10k..
I think it will differ by a small margin.. My cold start rpm is around 1-1.2k and after warm up it reaches 1.5-1.6kOriginally posted by sayank10 View Postso basically you are saying that your cold start rpm and and idle rpm at engine's optimum operating temp. remains same??
We have a side stand indicator on the console.. Look down once in a whileOriginally posted by ankur2smart View Post@everyone:

non-sense
you get it for 10rs per tyre max to max
Didn't know thatOriginally posted by Shibadip View Post
The feature is already there in Duke as well..
Now how can i get it done on my bike?
Anyways I am going to Delhi on this 26th. 200 is over kill. Here filling it fr first time costs Rs25 per tyre, confromed from 3 different places. Then refilling costs lesser.
And the difference you feel is mostly phycological, not much difference will be felt from normal and nitrogen

I rather like the red 'side stand' indicator feature of NS, because the other ignition off sort of feature would interfere everyday & turn off the engine unnecessarily.Originally posted by ankur2smart View PostI would happily replace that indicator with that feature
Guys, I went to my SVC in Noida to get Motul 5100 as I'm currently at 2100kms. I've been thinking of getting rid of Bajaj Oil myself that was poured into my bike at 1st service done at 500kms. No issues with it but still I want to switch to Motul semi synthetic.. but turns out they didn't have 5100. Instead the guy showed 7100 4T 10W40 & said they pour it in all Duke 200s, Ninja 250r and 220F bikes here. Price - 775/- Rs for 1ltr. But that is Fully Synthetic. I shouldn't be pouring it in my bike until 2nd service/4500-5000kms right ? I was told that at 2nd service they will pour whichever engine oil I want them to, and I should avoid switching until then. I wonder if these guys are using Motul 7100 in all Duke200s from the beginning. Cause the guy said 71004T 10W40 is the only Motul we get here.
By the way, this Motul 7100 engine was available at the "pro biking" servicing room of the Service Center. Apparently they only service Duke200, Ninja250r, 220F, old Pulsar200, Avenger there.. which is a well maintained servicing room. I noticed the SVC mechanics there are in less rush & those duke 200 & all other bikes are given good care lol. I can't believe they're servicing the old Pulsar 200 & 220F over there... but the P200NS is serviced in regular Basement servicing room, where all Discover bikes, Platina, P135,150 etc... are serviced. & everyday there are TONS of them lined up for servicing. So it's pretty hectic down there. I had asked the pro biking SVC tester that why the 200NS isn't serviced at pro biking room, he said when NS released the service center manager declared that NS will be serviced down in regular basement only. I cannot comprehend this.Last edited by broken87; 01-18-2013, 05:09 PM.

First of all... 10w40 isn't the recommended grade.... 20w50 is... don't pour 10w40 as ours is a short stroke engine which generates comparatively more heat. I switched to Motul 7100 FS oil 20w50 during the second service which was done at 3200kms, I was not satisfied with the way bike was running that time so got it done early. My friend uses Motul 5100 and I hardly feel his NS any different from mine in terms of ride quality. I suggest you to stick with 5100 15w50 SS or else go with Motul 300v 15w50 FS oil, but its on the expensive side.Originally posted by broken87 View PostI rather like the red 'side stand' indicator feature of NS, because the other ignition off sort of feature would interfere everyday & turn off the engine unnecessarily.

@Deewan Bajaj Okhla my bike is serviced at the first floor along with duke, ninja and good old 220s. It doesn't make sense that they don't service the NS there with the rest of premium offerings from bajaj.

I see, thanks for your advice bro. I can't find Motul 3100 gold listed on Motul.com but if I google the name, I get results. But I'll try to obtain 2 liters of 3100 15w50. Availability is an issue for all Motul products.Originally posted by sayank10 View Postpour in motul 3100 gold. costs 310 rs per litre. i am at 6ooo km,have been using that. now i will switch to 5100 .
