If this is what you want just put the light switch on on position and dipper switch to high beam and then press the pass light, the tail lights, pilot lamps and all the other lights will start glowing without causing any harm to the warranty.Originally posted by rahuldevnath View Post

HI Guys,
hope you all are riding safe with your NSes
i bought my bike last month 24th (300 km on odo)... i am enjoying my bike.. i like everything about the bike , but i have my share of niggles..
1. the sound the engine makes is like scooter.. now gradually it is turning into bike as the kms on the odo increase hopefully after service it will be even better.
2. the gears are not smooth when shifting from the 1-2 i always get struck at neutral but the neutral indicator is not on. so its kind of i push two times up to get to 2nd from 1 st
hope to get it rectified in the first servicing
3) the hissing sound in the brakes i don't know whether its because of the rains ? as it was not there before but after riding the bike in the rain for last days the hissing sound in the brakes has started
i need some help from the experts here... please resolve my below queries..
1) what is the proper RPM to shift the gears. (i usually shift in between 3- 3.5 k. and keep the bike in the rpm of 3-4 k as in this rpm range the bike maxes out to the company specified speed limit during run-in.) also the info about proper way of shifting gears will also help me...
2) is it good to always start a engine with choke on ? (i have never used the choke. but usually when i start the bike in the morning the bike moves as if the petrol is over .. it behaves the same way when i start from the office after 10 hrs gap.. ).
3)i am going out of station for 10 days what are precautions (regarding the bike) before leaving it idle for so long time.

After 2100 km i have changed the engine oil to motul 3000 4t plus 15w 50 its only grade available in our area , the bike resembles same as the bajaj oil in gear shift and engine idle sound and cold start seen after changing the oil .... like to get air filter for my pulsar 200ns KTM K&N Luftfilter is this possible to fit in it

Lol yes..with sky high petrol rates, I'll do thatOriginally posted by pgaucha View PostJust rev the bike hard at neutral for 5 minutes the fan will start working....
That reminds me..is it alright to use shell super petrol (81 bucks a litre)? Frankly, I don't find much difference in ride quality and power improvement. I thought I'd try it coz they claim it keeps the interiors of the engine clean and happy. They also claim the F.E improves with this petrol. I doubt it though. So can anyone tell me the overall benefits and downsides of using shell super?

As I always say, the new engine is like a baby and it would take to open up... right from the engine note to gear box to everything else. Give it some time to settle in and things wold be fine.Originally posted by Chandan Kumar View PostHI Guys,

Proper rpm for shifting gear... hmmmm well that's an interesting question, because that depends on firstly the riding style, and the synchronization between the clutch plate and crank shaft. I generally shift at 5k rpms (the run in rpms given in the manual is a bit too optimistic and honestly I didn't follow it and I'm not complaining either
) The synchronization for the NS starts from 2.5 k rpms at 2nd cog and climbs .5k rpms as you climb the gears (try clutch less gearshifts and you would know what I'm talking about), but seriously sticking to the synchronization is no fun. I would say shift at 4 k rpms and things should be just fine.
Till date I've never used choke (or in my previous P200 minus a couple of occasions might be). Since the engine is new and winters are on, it would be good if you start the bike and hold the throttle at 1.5k-2k rpms for say a minute, keep the engine on and then suit up (you know, wearing your jacket, gloves, helmet and all and might be dusting the bike a bit). By that time the engine would be almost near to it's operating temperature and the fuel and oil would have reached to the sections needed. Post that the ride should be smooth.
For going outstation, chain the bike, have a link lock in the chain, cover the bike properly and secure the cover properly, but before you do all that, take out the battery, apply some vaseline petroleum jelly on the leads (or the proper battery jelly that's easily available at the battery shops), place the battery on a wooden surface or plank and make sure it's not touch any wall surface and you are good to go and enjoy your trip!! Yes.. don't forget to pay a guard in your locality a little something so that he can keep a watch on the bike

exactly same problem, same place.... That particular hole is strange....the thread gets worned out... I later took it to the svc and got it removed.... Go to the svc and let them damage the bolt and then seek free replacement......Originally posted by rossyamaha46 View PostHey guys! Im having this really annoying issue...i noticed it today while removing the saree guard... Whatever bolt that passes through this hole(of the correct size of course
),(picture attached), gets its thread worn out!
The factory fitted bolt itself was worn out when I removed the saree guard I've tried out 4 different allen bolts, and all their threads got worn out. The other hole seems to be good.No issues with that one. Is there any solution to this? Will I have to tap the hole again?

PS:This picture is not clicked by me,it was posted by a fellow xBhpian on this thread,I just used it as a reference.

low mileage
Well yes after buying such an awesome machine i shouldnt worry about saving my petrol bills but well the average is too low
after taking the bikes delivery first time i checked reserve to reserve i got around 40(very very rough calculation)
after bike went to reserve..filled in 100 bucks worth of petrol(1.33 litres) rode for 40km and now its again reserve....so the average is 30
i usually shift at 4K rpm or max 4.5...went upto 5K just a few times
my ride is only in the city half of the time without pillion on empty roads and never exceeding 55kph
other half of the time is with a 50kg pillion on ok ok roads riding in 3rd-4th gear mostly
i hoped to get atleast 35-37
i am just 130kms on odo...lets hope this improves with the first servicePulsar 200NS parts list

You can stick to the normal shell petrol bcoz it is supposed to be petrol without any mixturesOriginally posted by Aditya N Bharadwaj View PostLol yes..with sky high petrol rates, I'll do that

.Moreover heard that additives can be quite damaging for the engine in long run.I didnt find much difference between using Shell super and normal. Both landed with the same mileage figure.

Dont worry about the mileage during the run-in period. Moreover u haven't got a platina to be worried about itOriginally posted by mayank.travadi View PostWell yes after buying such an awesome machine i shouldnt worry about saving my petrol bills but well the average is too low

@Mayank ,
Its bound to improve buddy, after the First service. One of our friend here had mentioned a mileage change around 20kmpl after first service.
Even our enfield Classic got an improvement near to 5-12KMpl After First service

Strange Query
I have booked an 200 NS supposed to get it Saturday (Bangalore, Amba Bajaj Bellandur) ,
when I asked about changing the Tyre the Bajaj Service Guy said "WARRANTY WOULD BE VOID" ( can it be true by any chance ?), because it changes the bikes nature and puts more stress to the engine....
Thank god , he didn't mention changing the Saree Guard won't void the warranty...( or good that I didn't ask)..
In that case my long queries of Tyre change would be wasted...
Picked up this show room because its pretty close to my flat ..
by the way what is the cost of the Euro Grip tyre ( Rear one the 130/70) ? any idea guys ?"A bike on the road is worth two in the shed"
