  • I have heard two types of cases with new bikes

the mileage after and before 1st service is same and doesnt change much

the mileage changes drastically after first service...

i hope mine is the second case

yes i dont have a platina or sumthing that i want to extract maximum kms from the fuel but well i am a student and petrol comes out of pocket money so i sure would wish to get a little better FE

i begged a lot for getting the NS as i was initially going to get a discover ST

now i dont want my family to taunt "well here enjoy your lakh rupee petrol drinking bike :P "

Thank god , he didn't mention changing the Saree Guard won't void the warranty...( or good that I didn't ask)..

In that case my long queries of Tyre change would be wasted...

Picked up this show room because its pretty close to my flat ..

by the way what is the cost of the Euro Grip tyre ( Rear one the 130/70) ? any idea guys ?
no your warranty wont be void if you change tyres as long as u stick to manufactures recomended size

ask him to give u in writing and send a copy of that to bajaj customer care and see what happens

no i have no idea about the cost of eurogrips

i find the tyres deent and sufficient

You have ridden only 130km so coming to the point of mileage issue early is not nice.Let the bike finish the run-in.And as you live in metro(Just a guess) Traffic can be night mare due to frequent shift of gears and expecting good mileage is not good on our part.

Glad to know I have company!

Getting the bolt replaced for free is one thing, but then what about that stupid 'thread consuming' hole?
Any solutions to that?Is there a fix for this?

Mine was an intermediate between the 1st and the 2nd case you've mentioned. Besides, it's too early to check for mileage.

BTW, @all, there is a bolt on either side of the vehicle, concealed by the side panels with the '4valve' sticker. Lately I had some crazy vibrations from over there. When taken to the showroom, the service guy immediately grabbed a spanner, opened up the seat and the tank, tightened the little screw by turning it some 7-8 times and put everything back. What a miraculous change I found after that! I asked him, what had happened. He said 9 out of 10 NSes came with that improperly machine-tightened bolt on both sides. Anyone who finds this post interesting can check their bike out at the svc. Should solve most vibration-related issues.

                • it felt like i hit reserve(calculated average came out to approx 31)

thought let me try tankfull this time and filled the tank

                  9.49 litres went in

if it was really reserve then the reserve capacity is 2.51

                  but manual says 2.4...

or did i get lucky at the pump and got free 100ml fuel? :P

today i noticed the front mudguard doesnt have those area with the plastic with the same colour as the bike's colour..its just a sticker...
i always thought those are coloured plastic

The vibes didn't affect the ride quality. They had massively disturbing sound. They sounded like metal parts clashing so badly that there was a loud tingling note between 5-6k rpm. The mechanic understood what I was saying even before I could complete myself. Those bolts are to make sure the tank is bolted on to the chassis from the inside (I think). With very low fuel, the tank was light enough to exhibit resonance I think. That's what it was all about. Now that it's rectified, I have found my lost love!
