3. Replace Engine oil and filter every 2500 kms.

One more issue, during cold starts, I am not using the choke and the warm idle is set at 1350-1400 RPM. During cold starts, I shift into neutral and pull in the clutch. Many times there is loud grinding sound from the engine / clutch. Also, there is a CONSIDERABLE change in engine noise during cold starts when pressing / releasing the clutch in Neutral.

I am getting 36 kmpl (hard riding) and 41.5 - 42 kmpl under sedate riding. I am running 27 Psi front and 36 Psi rear air pressure with the riding solo. Is it OK for a NS to return such figures?

As a matter of habit. Read somewhere a long long time ago that even if you are in Neutral, always press the clutch when starting first thing in the morning. You think there can be a problem with this?

Thanks for the reply and btw the center stand is not available here right now.Initially they had got three and had quoted Rs.400 excluding the labor cost but all of them has been sold out.They have promised me that they will get it within one week after diwali. All they have got now are the oil filters and probably the air filters.The name of the dealer is 'Auto Aquarium' near Khadina More,Chinsurah. @all:does the NS have any kind of transmission fluid like in cars and if yes will changing it improve the gear shift quality to any extent?

and which one.. 10W50, 15W50 or 20W50... can you explain what is the difference between these ?? I am a noob at this..

P.S: Drain interval is 2.5k only for mineral oil and bajaj oil.
With Motul 5100 SS oil you can stretch it for 4-4.5k kms without any problem.

And regarding the clutch pulling, its not needed, use the choke, that's why it is provided, for assisting in cold start, set idle rpm during warm condition to 1.5k rpm too.
And unnecessary engaging of clutch decreases clutch plate life.

The tire pressure seems right. Also do note to measure tire pressure on a cold tire and not after running a few kms, there is difference in both.

Oh..!! and the mileage is just fine.



As i said , clutch plate gets worn off prematurely.

Hi guys,

Does anybody know how to adjust the head light to have the light beam focused properly. My old FZ had a little bolt on the left side of the head light assembly. But I could not figure out how do it on my NS.

Just poured 1ltr motul 3100 oil. I am not sure if 1 ltr is enough or not. Hope to get better performance

Thanx bro btw our bikes do have gear oil but no need to change it.... It will run with the stock oil for a very looooong time...in case you are having gear shifting issues, adjust the clutch. Adjusting clutch can do wonders...

If you've changed your engine oil then you will 1.2lts.

Absolutely loving the bike ! Got my Bumblebee yesterday evening and already some 70 kms on odo. Must say gets a lot of respect on the road!

Gear shift is smooth, only for the first gear downshift from N, I hear a "thud" which is kind of annoying. Currently shifting gears between 3.5-4.5k rpm range (around 4k rpm "sounds" right to change to higher). Highest I've gone is 60 kmph. The manual says 48 kmph for 6th gear for first 1000 kms . Isn't that a bit too low for 6th?

I found 1 ltr pack at shop and asked guy to pour the same. Will it affect the performance with 0.2 ltr shortage.
Its more than 2500km on odo. Second service is due at 4.5k. Where bajaj ppl gonna replace it with dts i oil.

Just for now, can you tell is it fitted over the silencer, or is it beyond the silencer??

I think MRF will be good eh=nough, if you are restricting your ride to the city only (i.e u r not performing hard core cornering over any twisties, or taking it to racetrack)

As i said that the MRF also did skid but it was under extreme panic breaking (as will any other tyre, and esp ther is a disc brake), but the best part was the Bike was in the same straight line, and you won't loose the confidence of having control on ur bike.

I think, PSD will be bit heavier than MRF, and thus will be harsher on the pick-up and mileage.


About the stock tyres, many of NSains here suggested that the tyre will stop skidding, once they are broken in.
While the rear tyre skidded 5 time in the 1st 400 kms , there hasn't been a single skid in the next 200 kms. But that I think, I got a hold of how to apply the rear brake properly without skidding the tyre. (FIY, this is the 1st time I'm using a rear disc brake bike, and the brakes are very hard, almost feather touch hard)
But during yesterdays ride, as soon as i took my bike on the side of the road, while was mud and gravel, the tyre skidded, although the speed was as low as 20/15 kmph

Can you tell the full name of the motul engine oil best for 200NS??

na na not stock level...dry grip is mindblowing on revz..didn't skid even once after changing tyres and i do ride and brake quite fast and hard....and today got a chance to ride in rains...and the tire held up quite good.... I am very impressed... pirelli is better and less puncture-prone...

dont know about howrah bro but i got it from first left big shop at wellington...before dev's shop... I got motul 3100 gold semi-synth 320rs/litre.... Btw is centre stand still available at bandel? Whats the price with labour...? And what is the name of the dealer/svc where centre stand is available....

Can you tell me how to properly adjust the clutch because i am sure the service guys will do nothing to it as they say that problem is not with the bike, instead i am the problem as i do not know how to ride it.
