In that case just top up with the DTSi oil or visit the ASC and ask them to top it for you. regarding the Idle and cold start issue, I do think your AFR had been made a bit lean from your account of the cold start problem compared to before.Hot idle should be 1,500 RPM and cold idle 1,200 RPM...I had explained earlier how this can be done.Originally posted by mayank.travadi View PostWhen Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

i'll check the level again and if its low will buy a bottle of dtsi oil from a local shop and pour in 100ml first and check the level and accordingly will pour more...Pulsar 200NS parts list

My solution to buzzing sound from fairing
Pics are attached
open the two screws at left and right part of the fairing..
I revvd up the engine and found the cause of the buzzing sound..
I just used double sided tape between the parts that were buzzing
The tape used as padding has decreased the buzzing sound marginally... previously it used to buzz at 4-5 k rpm but now there are only some vibrations at around 9 k rpm
And guys one query>>>
I am using motomax dashboard polish liquid( for cars) every now and then... is it safe to use it because I read that some motomax containd abrasive ... ////????

I calculated by reserve to reserve method...Originally posted by Aditya N Bharadwaj View PostHow did you calculate your F.E?
I put the Trip meter to Zero...when bike comes to reserve..
then I put Petrol for Rs. 300 i.e. 4 ltrs...put bike to ''ON'' mode...then after 120 kms on the Trip meter..the bike comes to reserve again...so the FE is 120/4 = 30kmpl

Re: Pulsar 200 NS
Why dont u try the method which is given in manual. Full ur tank note the km reading and then full tank after 100km. And divide the previous km reading with current one.Originally posted by SHAQ View PostI calculated by reserve to reserve method...

It will give the exact milage

Friends my Query still remains unanswered...though however I will try to calculate by Tank full method....but wont make much of a difference....Hello friends
Would like to share my F.E. with guys..to let me know whether its right or needs attention.
Completed 1250 Kms.
First Service @ 450 Kms (Bajaj DTS-i Oil)
Oil Change to Motul 3000 (mineral) 15W50 @1220 Kms.
Initially when the bike was new I was Getting FE of around 35 kmpl..which was mix of highway and City..
there after in my regular commute from home to office...(6 kms only...but takes 25 mins. Jogeshwari-Andheri) i was getting 22.5 kmpl..which went for sometime till I decided to get it checked...went to SVC. the guy did some AFR setting and..last FE i got was 30 kmpl..though i feel that bike wants to be revved above 4k rpm..whereas in my route I hardly get to go above 5 k...and that turbo lag kinda feeling is always there...So I am not ripping...and not crossing the 5k rpm..also not exceeding 60kmph.....got the AFR tuned to leaner than before...still getting 30kmpl....Is it something to worry about..as fellow NSians are getting above 35 kmpl with ripping in city rides...and above 40kmpl on highways...would my FE increase with time...i.e. after reaching some 4000 kms...as my run is short..(have completed only 1250 kms..got my bike in July)...I dont know when will I reach 4000 kms...
Please help....am I getting right FE...
Is the FE I m getting is right..for the conditions I Ride in..and considering that my Running-in is not over as yet

I tried Full tank method. I got 130/3.5 = 37 kmpl.Originally posted by SHAQ View PostFriends my Query still remains unanswered...though however I will try to calculate by Tank full method....but wont make much of a difference....

30 looks very less to me.

Thanks,Originally posted by Pinaki View PostCongratulations !
Is this the normal cost of the center-stand for the bike ? seems too high to me too ...
Beware that at least one of the Motomax polishes (Motomax liquid polish, formerly known as Roberts Liquid Polish) contains abrasive . Thanks to Motomax(Pidilite) for clearly mentioning this on the product and their website .
Yes i read it now on their website, the polish contains emery :O . But the Shine it provides is awesome + It attracts less dust .Will go home and check if its the same product.
And for the stand, can anyone confirm how much original bajaj center stand costs?
I asked if any other bike stands are compatible but they said "NO"
ThanksOriginally posted by Shibadip View PostCongrats Tejas...
Guess there will be different monster on ur Avtar pic
Yes definitely, i was so busy riding the bike i forgot about itLast edited by Tejas.Vern; 11-06-2012, 06:10 PM.

Help me out with my radiator fan please...
Till today I have not heard it working. Was so determined to test it today. Idled the bike for a good 3 Mins and then revved (in neutral) upto 5k (varying) for another 3 mins. The radiator fan never worked. Had a doubt whether the bike is not adequately heated up. Touched Engine, gearbox and coolant pump, all were warm except for the exhaust pipe which burnt my hand. Someone please help me. I want to see it rotating (more of a pride issue now :/).Riding is not about destinations, it's about journeys.

The above method should have put the fan on.. It does the same when I tune my bike keeping it on higher Idle RPM.Originally posted by Arun Magus View PostHelp me out with my radiator fan please...

JUst to double check, run the bike, when properly warmed up in 1st gear with slight higher RPM (3-4.5K) for a few minutes. Even if then the fan doesn't start, take it to SVC.
I have seen on the duke thread, that some of them had this problem, just because of a stupid loose connection. Problem solved in SVC within 5 min
If u have some knowledge in electrical, the u can check out the wires yourselfsigpicRelationships change, evolve, and it goes deep.

lhs and rhs of the bike
DIY: Center stand installation
The centre stand costs 517 rupees inclusive of all taxes
ASCs charge anywhere from 100 to 400 for fitting charges
my suggestion just get the centre stand and get ur hands a little dirty in fixing it yourself
The stand is specially made for NS and no other stand will fit
remove the bolts as marked in the pictures
some small metal pipe segment will come out when u remove the bolt
take the center stand
the things which came out from the bike after unscrewing insert them inside the center stand
now put the center stand above two joints where you inserted those pipes at the place where those pipes came out
screw the bolt back in again with the center stand in the place
put the rubber block on the stand to prevent the stand hitting the underbelly exhaust
take the spring and fix it as shown in the pic
Voila! centre stand fixed...15-20 minutes job for the experienced and for inexperienced 30-40 mins max
if the bots refuse to go in when the center stand is placed hit the bolts with a hammer to push them in and then screw them...
hope this helps many members
apologies i couldnt show each step with a pic to support it....by the time i understood how to fix the stand i had already got my stand fixed
PS : do not forget to oil the moving parts of the stand
AND
yes always better to check full tank method for mileage..its more accurate and i hope if you are using reserve method dont rely on reserve indicator...the fuel and reserve indicator are total nonsense...
i checked reserve o reserve and got about 41 complete city ride(wth 50% empty roads) shifting between 3.5 and 4K rpm and most of the time cruising at 3-4-5th gears
i too never have seen my radiator fan working..i will just ask the ASC to check it(better than wasting so much petrol for riding in first gear to see if the fan is working)Last edited by mayank.travadi; 11-06-2012, 07:06 PM.Pulsar 200NS parts list

In bumper to bumper traffic (assuming you cant go beyond 3/4 gear) I think its fair enough.Originally posted by SHAQ View PostHello friends
am I getting right FE...
I know that motomax wax or polish contains abrasives...ut dont know about the dashboard polish. I dont hink it should. But why do you have to use it every now and then? A lot of makeup for the lady is harmful you knowOriginally posted by jai6339 View PostAnd guys one query>>>

And coincidentally today was the first time I heard my fan working. was riding in 2nd gear for about 2-3 kms with braking now and then and varying between 2-3rd gears. Pathetic roads I must say.

Hello MartinVirage Reporting in My First Thread at Xbhp.
I am a proud owner of Bajaj Pulsar 200ns for the last 13 Days.
I've ridden for about 350 kms and just love the bike. I find the exhaust note of the bike changing everyday as th milage increases (it is becoming smoother). I especially love the way it sounds from about 3750 o 4000 rpm. I love the way it builds up the Revs.
I had a query about the bike...
1) Is the Kill Switch only used for Emergencies or It may be used for Daily use?
{Manual states that it should be used only for emergencies}
Here are a few pictures of my bike{MTVR}

Hi All,
It is around 1800km on ODO, and what i noticed was that the coolant level never dropped ?!? even when i gave for first service , the SE told me that coolant keeps re-circulating hence level of coolant is constant all the time, is this true? so given it is almost nearing 2k , i find it very strange that the coolant level has not reduced a bit
How do i even verify if the coolant pump is working ? is the same behavior seen on your bike as well?
And one more question was, i am still running on Bajaj Engine oil, is it too late for me to go ahead and change the oil to Motul3000 Mineral oil? or am still good ?
