Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
My friend's ns is at 14k kms and clutch is smooth as always. The cable is stock and was never changed. I do remember some mech specifying that not routing the clutch cable properly or lubing the nylon coated cables shorten its life significantly.Originally posted by The Monk View Post

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
No cable didn't break . but it works like on-off and when he releases the clutch bike starts to move only at one point of the clutch releaseOriginally posted by The Monk View PostIs the clutch cable breaking an inherent design problem with the 200NS? Have owners had to change an extraordinary number of clutch cables?
Asking, since a friend of mine has had unusually high cable breakages on his NS and always at the bottom end.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
As instructed by you, yesterday I gave my bike for servicing and told him the things you told me and I had to leave the bike at the SVC as they told me that they had many bikes for servicing. In the evening when I went to collect the bike I asked the mechanic that whether he has done the tappet settings right or not? He replied that "I checked with the machine and tappet settings aren't required." I asked him about the carb his reply was:- "Sir carb cleaning is not required at 10000 kms though I have tuned the carb". I immediately test rode the bike and the difference was evident acceleration felt smooth and the bike felt calm. As per now am satisfied thanks for the advice.[emoji3]Originally posted by xplod566 View PostMine was as if fuel stopped coming(In consistent throttle fuelling) and terrible FE,something around 25.
4 things and you make sure you do it in front of you and if they say no ask for a job sheet saying bike has no issues!then the do it.
1)Check tappet settings
20Check Diapharm
3)open carb and clean thoroghly.I mean deassemble
4)Clean Air filter
5)Ask him to tune carb to stock settigns.
IT should get fixed

Nope, and have rarely seen guys reporting problems associated to that here.Originally posted by The Monk View PostIs the clutch cable breaking an inherent design problem with the 200NS? Have owners had to change an extraordinary number of clutch cables?

Well said. I think @Himanshu Patel is suspecting the coolant leaking with engine oil.Originally posted by krixna View PostBro, any engine oil's colour will get dark due to carbon accumulation. If this colour is after 3K, carbon is less, I would say. Engine is in good condition

What @xplod566 referring, could that be clutch wire spring issue?. @xplod566, If I understand correctly, your friend is able to apply either 100% or 0%, right?. looks also like a worn out plate as said earlier by another friend here. But is he selling the bike for this reason?.Originally posted by krixna View PostCheck whether the outer (cable) cover is damaged somewhere. Also check whether inner cable is partially damaged, ie, some strands broken.

You shall wait for 200NS FI (that might take 3-5 months), if I consider April as launch date. Or better than ever, wait for Apache 200 ABS.Originally posted by Swapnil18 View PostHello everyone
I am in the market looking for a used bike in the range of 50-55K.
I am considering a 2013/14 200ns.
Should i go for a used ns?!
Is it worth buying a used 200ns?!
Also what other bikes can i go for?!
I am currently using a unicorn 150 and i need something more powerful with better brakes.
If you are buying used NS, watch out for some well known issues such as Swaying left, lack of punch at mid range, irregular idling, etc

He replaced the clutch plates 500kms ago so he suspects its not an issue with the plates.but he did mention that the clutch is extremely hard and he hasn't changed the cables.might be an issue with it.I am with him now and he is replacing the cables.I also saw the clutch to be extemly hard.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
I have ~30K kilometers on the odo and I got the clutch cable changed only once at about 25K odo, that too for precautionary reasons. So, I don't think its a design problem or such.Originally posted by The Monk View PostIs the clutch cable breaking an inherent design problem with the 200NS? Since your friend is facing problem of wire breaking off from the bottom end, I would suggest him to check or replace the clutch rod once.Originally posted by The Monk View PostAsking, since a friend of mine has had unusually high cable breakages on his NS and always at the bottom end.
It broke on mine once, I thought the clutch wire broke, but it was the clutch rod instead. It doesn't costs much approx ₹150 plus labour.Vrooming Soul..!!

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Rough idling tells me lean mixture. If the mixture is very lean, the idling will struggle to keep up. If too rich, it will die as well. But unless you are so sure, do not adjust AFR setting. Try applying choke (gradually) which will make the mixture rich by cutting some air intake. But then there is a ratio say 15:1 ratio (Air:Fuel) I think so, and it won't work if this ratio is not obtained. To push your luck, try choke as I said and see if the increasing RPM stays constant. It should... Keep this noted to SVC

TNT25?, that's a wise decision. I just would blindly buy (if I have money) Bennelli for "just sound", if not for anything. When I bought my NS, all I had was only CBR250, which I hated for sporty riding position. Now we have so many models available..Originally posted by xplod566 View PostNo he is selling coz he wants to buy TNT25.
