+1 to this. Recently I filled up at a HP pump for my car. Since I did a full tank, I came to know he is cheating. The total capacity of the tank is 60 litres and the machine dispensed 72 litres effortlessly. When I told this to the attendant he was ignorant and started telling that 60 litres is approximate. Finally I had to threaten him about complaining to HP before he yielded and I paid for 60 litres only.

I am waiting anxiously for the run-in to complete. Also, the digital fuel indicator is the worst I have seen. If there is only 6 litres of fuel, it still shows full :x and doesn't indicate correctly until the fuel reduces to 3 litres or so. That sounds feasible for me. Tuning the horn in NS is the same as other bikes right? (Tighten the screw on the horn) or is there something I should know about? PS: I am new here and hope I have multi-quoted correctly, if not mods please help me out!!
its the same as other horns.

yeah i know about this and tried a lot of other pumps too.... Bike even knocked in some oils...finally i refuel at a hp pump which is a very busy pump and bike stopped knocking totally...engine became smooth and a creamy power delivery.... I even did a full tank at the same bunk from the same dispenser after riding 30 kms on reserve and total 800 rs worth petrol went in upto neck...i.e. 800/75.5 = 10.5 litres... So the fuel pump has an accurate machine and the fuel good too.... Thus fuel issue ruled out.... Problem is with the bike itself i guess... Now the mileage is 30kmpl with 70% sane and 20% fast and 10% insane.... And unfortunately we dont have shell pumps over here...used to have reliance outlets but they are closed now... Any idea if reliance will open anytime soon? How was their fuel?

Whoa man! Mine's running rich too (I love great pickup). But even after redlining many many times, I get more or less 400 kms from full tank to reserve. Yeah funny bike. Or rather funny product! Same adjustments on 2 bikes of the same model, ridden in the same manner and yet huge differences in mileage! Btw I use shell petrol and it's the best I've filled in!

Taking about Funny!!!... yeah, right, and i might even add Mysterious..
I made a 80+ kms ride yesterday, and my experience in two parts -

Part 1 -After the Up journey, I was quite frustrated with the ride..
Low mileage, hiccups at low revs, vibrations, even there was a point, where no fuel was getting supplied at low revs.. I had to rev the throttle high to keep the engine running!!

Part 2 - While at Down journey, every thing was back to perfect!! (with the vibrations still on at > 7K rpm). the engine behaved smooth, and the feedback was also spot on.

                Thanks for the update mate

I hear ya bro.. Bajaj won't leave a reply. Try calling them. & before u can go to the consumer court u've gotta get a substantial ground & proof. Go to some pro mechanics near ur place & get it thoroughly checked.

                  • Guys today while filling up petrol i asked for the air pressure to be set to 2.5 and 2.8 . And after that the bike's performance has been stunningly awesome... the handling has improved tremendously.. enjoying every moment of ride...

i was not aware that just the tyre pressure can have such impact... request you all to do the same... u ll enjoy...

                    Happy riding..

I don't what that is in psi but if you've kept it significantly higher than the recommended pressure then you run the risk of losing traction while turning because of the reduced contact patch.. Hope you got the picture.

UP and DOWN? A trip to a hill eh? How much petrol did you have in your tank? I'm guessing, if it was less and you were on a steep slope, the inclination might have gotten the fuel away from or toward the pipe connecting the tank to the carb, thus improper fueling in case 1 and normal in case 2.

And btw, to all, I still strongly believe in the 200NS being an excellent machine. I find one thing strange. The issues reported here have almost never been felt on my bike and even if few of them have been to a small magnitude, all of those have disappeared completely! The friends of mine who were complaining before, are now all praises! Is my bike a gem of a vehicle, a one in a million or is it the result of extensive care? I don't know!

even my bike give very good mileage sometimes....but all of a sudden it becomes odd....i dont know how to describe it... But once it touches 7k, the power just pushes you back for a moment....if with a pillion, it gives a powerwheelie while shifting from 1st to 2nd at full blast many times... Recently i entered a very tight corner a lot too hot, my left shoe and sometimes the pegs were scrapping the tarmac, i was in 3rd gear with engine spinning at close to 6.5k and 7k rpm and suddenly a moron jumped from nowhere....with no scope for braking i just twisted rest of the throttle and the rear tyre made an awesum long power slide(i got scared though) with the rear wheel spinning mercilessly till i hit 10k in 3rd(just like motogp) and then shifted to 4th gear midcorner with throttle still pinned and it popped the front wheel up for a second and then i exited the corner.... It may look like an awesum cornering but i literally had my heart on my mouth for those few seconds....
