Ordinary petrol is good enough, soon you wont find premium petrol anyways at any of the fuel stations, considering the way the sales of those fuels are going downhill month on month.

        Congrats Bro

@All, Guys i'm getting vibes on my bike's handlebar at 6-6.5k rpm range. Anything above and below that, there are no issues. Although the vibes ain't a lot, its kinda tingling. Anyone else with this issue?. Any remedy for this?
Just took delivery of my Yellow NS today, yes, there are some vibes at lower gears especially in the 3rd to 4 th gears at 2,000 to 2,500 rpm.

@Surajr: what is your odo reading? I have taken my NS today and felt some vibes from 2000 to 2500 rpm at lower gears.

It will give the exact milage

Yup, thats the method endorsed by Bajaj and Sai Service to accurately check the mileage.

                        • Bajaj DTS-i 10000 is a semi-synthetic oil.Is this the oil we get when we purchase the bike?We all know that mineral oils are always recommended for run in.Running In | Ash On Bikes //read the paragraph related to engine oil
Why is bajaj putting semi synthetic by default?Or is it because of the short stroke, high revving engine of NS,like most modern bikes mineral oil not necessary?
                          Bajaj
In the above link it is said that for 200 ns Oil cpacity(Drain and refill) is said to be 1200ml,but max available retail pack is 1150 ml,so does it mean that when draining and refilling we are always 50 ml less than the necessary quantity?

                          • If you change the oil on your own, then you'll have to get 2 bottles at first , the second bottle will have 800ml remaining, which you can use for the next refill. So 1st oil change you will have to get 2 bottles and then 1 bottle for the next 4 oil changes(This is without considering oil refill).

There wont be any problem running on 100ml lesser oil, just make sure, your a bit above the low oil level. But recommended thing to do is to fill always to the prescribed amount, not less not more.

                            Cheers

now i read somewhere u should check oil level at cold engine...

the pics are taken on a level surface on centre stand

when i saw the oil level before starting my bike first time for the day at 7:30 in the morning the oil level was as as shown in the second pic(the one with lower oil level)

after riding for 4-5km the oil level was as shown in the first picture(the one with higher oil level)

after that i rode 2.5 km and checked oil level again and this time it was the same as the second picture(it was low)

again after that i rode for some 2 km or so and the oil level was still the same....low as in second picture

is there some issue? is this a matter of concern?

should i buy a bottle of dtsi oil and top up?

or should i drain the whole oil myself and fill new oil?

going to ASC will be bit difficult for me as my exams are coming and i dont have much time...for my first service i will have to give my bike with hardly 150-175 km on the odo..

PS i usually get on and off my bike from the left side but to check the oil level i got of on the right side and accidently my legs calf touched the gearbox/clutchcover(whatever its called) and it still burns...does it get that hot???

@Mayank: Mate, i notice you are worrying too much instead of enjoying running in the bike. Relax, there is a 2 years warranty on this machine by Bajaj and believe me having owned a Bajaj product which is still giving me reliable service for 14 years, you can count on this manufacturer. It may not make the most refined and smoothest of machines, but you'll have enjoy the way these machines can stretch for you. So go ahead and enjoy the ride, all these issues can be fixed by the SC guys. Just a advice.

To reduce the vibrations on the Handlebars...can we change the bar end weights to slightly larger ones..possibly the ones from 220 or Karizma?? Anyone whos already experimented with that?? any mods to be done with regards to the threading of the screws??
