On the other hand, it could be the fuel from these bunks have been adulterated or is of lower quality.

Whereas with private companies like Shell, Total, etcetera, the fuel is guaranteed to be pure and the meters true.

That's usually the reason why sometimes you can fill more in your tank when you're filling up from one of these public sector oil companies than when you do at a private company bunk.

Yea , I experienced on indian oil I guess.. The pump meter showed me 8.76 lt and calculated amount . And the bill I got was of the same amount but the qty of petrol was 8.53 and multiplying with rate was giving the receipt as correct. This means they display more litres on pump. Never fill 100 or 200 rupees as it's rigged to give less petrol or 1 lt or 3 lt. Always say till the tank fills or like 375 415 such amounts. My friend who owns a petrol pump told me :P

You have over strained them. .luckily nothing happened to you at high speeds. Specially front tyre . Check for abnormal bumps in the tyres at normal pressure . And may I ask how did you fill so much without noticing it ?

The filling person was using an analog meter to check the pressure.. It must've been faulty..

Lesson learnt : forget if it gives you extra mileage, you'll feel like riding a bullock cart at low speeds.. I felt as if suspension never existed at all..

Completed 600kms on odo. First free service over but was unsatisfactory as I mentioned in my post last week. Now there is a burning smell from the engine area. I don't think it is from the disk brake pads.

Any idea - what could be the reason?

It's either the excess chain lube that had splattered on the exhaust and evaporating off it or the engine oil vaporising from the head. Both cases are normal. Oil vaporises a tiny bit when you rip really hard.

Burning smell haunted me too until 1500kms, and still at 4k kms, when bike is allowed to go 100 under 10 sec, smell still comes, though very lightly.
Guys. Chilling at bhakra nangal dam, himachal una, man what a atmosphere, wish I could live here, Delhi is like a dumpyard, such beautiful landscape and atmosphere.
On the other side, regretting that I should've came here on mighty p200ns,it's only 400kms.
                    Hopefully next year,

Don't try to fix me, I'm broke so I don't work
So are you, but you're broke 'cause you don't work

Ok. But, I haven't ripped it yet. Before 1st service, I used to stick to 4k rpm & now 4.5-5k rpm.

How long have you ridden after service ?
Sometimes they apply polish and what not during the service to the exhaust which causes smoke and smell . Usually disappears quickly though ...so wait for sometime and see.

Came from a night ride. My bike just turned 2 months old. 1500 kms on odo. Today came to know about the real power of NS. I weigh 84 kgs. But the punch that the NS has is killing. Took it to 110 kmph but it was thrilling. As I had no protection except helmet and riding shoes I did not take it beyond 110kmph. Fun starts after 5k RPM And also no proper roads here just have a 3 km stretch of highway after that have to take the small road to my home. People should visit digboi atleast once to explore the oil well number 1 where oil was first discovered. Not many people know it as Digboi is a very small town. But its significance of discovering oil for the first time in india is high. I do not see many riders visiting here. Please do visit oil well no. 1 here in digboi , Assam. P.M me if anybody needs any help here in Digboi. Roads are good here. And wvn ample accomodation.

I've had a feeling a week ago that petrol vapors are leaking from tank lid.. I shrugged it off thinking I must be panicking and it could be due to engine heat..

But today I took bike out after service (1st) to a friend's place and while leaving I took helmet and kept it on tank lid for some time.. Say 2 - 3 min and I wore my helmet back I could smell petrol. The bike was off for about 2hrs then. It was after 5pm I parked the bike there.. So I don't think it's due to heat now..

Happens when you fill to the brim sometimes . Otherwise you need to check the problem.
