    Everyone recommended Motul 3000 20w50 but it isnt available in my area.

    Can someone suggest some Shell/Mobil1/other brand mineral oils which are as equally good as Motul 3000!

    or should I simply stick to dtsi oil for now?

    I tracked down some mineral oils after going through the forums extensively, here's the list
    -->Gulf Pride 4T 20w50
    -->Mak 4T 20w50
    -->Shell AX5 20w50

    Are these as good as Motul 3000? Tell me the order of preference so I can choose based on their availability.
    Since you are from Chennai, Please do look up Good will Agencies who are the dist., for Motul and NGK spark plugs.They are at Gopalapuram at the Cathedral road,Gopalapuram road cross cut junction..address is,
    No: 357, First floor,
    Avvai shanmugam rd.,Opposite Canara Bank
    Gopalapuram
    Chennai 600086
    044-28113280, 28113306

    The Gulf 4T 20w50 as well as Shell AX5 20w50 are also good Mineral oils.

    • hey guys.... was chatting with the service manager at deewan bajaj in okhla, delhi, he told me that based on the feedback bajaj has replaced horns in Duke and NS with better ones, can anyone confirm that....??? He also told me that the crash gaurd has also been improved from the recent batches and the most interesting thing was that an engineer from pune told them that an FI version of the NS was being developed and tested...

      don't know how much of it is true, maybe the seniors can confirm...

          Hey thanks for the update. So are they offering any replacement for older batches FOC?? Would definitely like to change both the horns and crash guard.

          whom did you speak to? Ranjan ?

          • Hey guys i got an average of around 34 kmpl - reserve 2 reserve method. So guess the carb is tuned to a richer mix? I have been riding constantly at around the 4-5 k mark in city conditions, lots of traffic signals and gear shifts.

              hey buddy even I get the humming sound ,for me sound is coming from three plastic flaps which make the top part of the head lamp ,i tried holding them with one hand while riding for a short time and the sound seemed to vanish ,couldnot verify correctly though as I am at native for the festival and bike is back in bengaluru ,you can check for the same on your bike and let us know .

                Inserted some foam cushion (things which are generally used for packing fridge and all!!) and tried to all the area between front visor and the console frame. The cushioning is thick so that when the visor is bolted back, it presses against the rest of the pieces. Wouldn't say that the buzzing has vanished entirely but has reduced considerably. The only problem is that since it's a white foaming material and the visor is not entirely black, it's kinda visible from the front which I'm not liking for sure and would replace it as soon as I find an alternative to it.
                Twist your wrist and feel the shift!!

                    That is good news for me... BTW what would be the difference in this FI version you are talking about ?? will it be faired bike ?

                    • I think the gear lever and real break lever is not arranged in proper manner compared to the riding position. It should be little lower. Is it possible to lower the positions of those levers?

                        I doubt they will introduce Fi version of NS as bajaj were very clear that they weren't able to get enough punch in Fi from NS.
                        About the horns & crash guard, that may be true That would be so unfair for all the current owners just like me

                          Read the manual, all the electrical parts are covered under warranty. However, the duration is only for a year.

I am still using bajaj dtsi oil replaced during 1st servicing, around 2500 k kms on ODO.... SVC manager is not allowing to change the engine oil to some other brand and saying warranty would void if any other brand is used
                            What bullshit is this. mail bajaj customer care ASAP along with SVC manager name. I am sure you will get a decent reply from both BAJAJ and that stupid manager.

                                As senior members have suggested, go with Motul 3000 20w50 for the first 2500-3000kms then switch to Semi Synthetics.
