Thanks for detailing the process. very simple.

My query - you first adjusted the idle screw to 1500 rpm and then turned the AFR clockwise like 5/100 (as you say it). So when you did this did the rpm increase? if so then by how much and after doing this did you re-adjust the idle screw?
    Thanks buddy.
Ya I adjusted the Idle screw(because there is a slight variation in idle rpm when Hot and Cold) and then turned the AFR.

Since i turned the AFR just a tiny little bit, so there was no change in the Idle.

What u are referring(idle rpm variation), Will happen if you properly sit down to TUNE the bike. I actually didn't tune the bike. I just made the AFR a bit richer. Tuning the bike is altogether a different story.

    • ^ thanks Shibadip.

When i ride my bike there is a strong clanking noise like something is loose in the engine. This has been there since the day i got the bike. Earlier thought it was like that but now i strongly feel that this noise is not suppose to be there.

Could it be the coolant pump? or the tappets?

Coolant pump will not make any clanking sound, but there will be humming sound coz of that.
The sound might be of Tappet (and many have reported that). It it still a Wild guess sitiing here. Take her to the SVC for proper diagnosis.

        • It's so freaking easy to shift up but almost every time i try shifting down, the gearbox disappoints me. Anyone else facing this problem?

                      Frnd I hv 2 doubts:

Does changing from stock tyre to fatter one result in lower mileage and strain on engine/chain-sprocket?

Why Bajaj insisting on DTSI oil, when other global brands are far superior

                        1. The tyre in the pic is the same profile as the stock tyre...it isn't fatter.

                        2. Dont exactly know...but it isn't harmful if Bajaj is trying to earn some money by selling and making people stick to its own oil. Further, if Bajaj uses some other oil, don't you think it will have to pay more than its home grown oil!!

@rahulbarik - is the r15 v2.0 rear tyre vulnerable to sand???
not really that vulnerable to sand but all slick tyres loose traction on sand... even PSD also... But trust me, its much better than those eurogrips in sand... dip did some braking test with the new tyre...ask him when he is online.. and yes bhai meet banta hai...but not before i get my bike...
@psraju: as myth already said, fatter tyre will definately reduce mileage and performance and a small extra load on sprockets(doesn't matter much). And this tyre is same as stock, though it looks fatter..
And regarding engine oil, well myth already answered
@nishanth: yep thats the radial i was talking about day before yesterday in fb..
