Finished 475 kms in ODO.. And the Wrench symbol is displaying which glows as a service reminder.. But as per manual the 1st service should be within 500 to 750 kms.. So guys what to do now .. Shall I go ahead for the first service?? Till now didnt change the engine oil.. And ya one problem faced since start day of delivery the low oil pressure indicator is glowing in regular intervals.. I called the concerned person and he replied it will be fixed during 1st service.. Guys is any one out there faced the same problem ??

thats a good thing actually... No need to run to the svc... You should be happy that your bike is maintaining a constant rpm.... Dont worry...all is fine... And your idle rpm is low, but dont touch it since your bike is running fine...let it be there if it is not troubleing you...Originally posted by vin_amulya View PostNoticed a strange thing in my NS today,
in the cold start, RPM is showing 1000 but after a 10KM or so ride the RPM still showing at the 1000 mark itself.
do i need to check with the SVC ?? Is it an issue or is there any chance of fault in the RPM hand ??
changed oil @ 180KM
Thanks in advance

Advisable to change the oil early ... As for the sensor issues many including me had faced the and got it rectified or scheduled for being worked on.Originally posted by arghadeepdas View PostFinished 475 kms in ODO.. Help!!
Guys need some urgent help
I happened to notice a pipe is not properly connected on my NS. I verified that there is a pipe at that location with another NS in the company parking lot..
Please could someone tell me what is the purpose of this pipe?
Location: In the front, just below coolant filler cap (refer attachments)

Regarding the oil sensor issue, I had lodged a complaint against the service center where I got my first service done. Said I had issues the oil sensor (prior issue, not fixed) and massive vibrations (introduced after service)
BIG MISTAKE
Service center representative calls me to get my bike in for sensor replacement. I take the bike in on 1st September. My bike was molested for over 6 hours in that shop :’(
Gave the bike for the first time at 8am - kept waiting till 930am – 3 mechanics take 2 hours to take apart the panels/tank/carb – “replace sensor” - and put it back together.. Issue seems fixed for now.
Drive around 10km and head back home. On the way back, I let go of the throttle at 60kmph and the bike keeps accelerating past 80 before I hit the kill switch. Bike is now idling at 8000rpm. Reduce idling via screw. Now the bike is alternating between idling at 8000rpm and stalling in traffic.
Take it back to service center. One of the mechanic take the bike for a spin with me pillion, doesn’t take the bike over 4000rpm. Says no issue and asks me to leave. I don’t budge and call the service representative. This a$$#@$# takes my bike on the wakdewadi highway and rips it. Did I mention the bike is still in run in?
Thankfully (or regretfully) the issue comes back.
Back to service center. He opens the throttle in neutral and keeps it banging off the rev limiter for close to a minuteLast edited by Red_Redemption; 09-05-2012, 09:36 AM.We are so busy watching out for what\'s just ahead of us, that we don\'t take time to enjoy where we are ~ Bill Watterson

It was posted earlier that the Service symbol is set to alert at 450 kms on the ODO ,so no need to worry ,its just to give you a heads up on the upcoming service .Originally posted by arghadeepdas View PostFinished 475 kms in ODO.. with such problem occuring frequently , i guess its time to ask them to replace your bike ..
idling at 8000rpm is something i have never heard before .. automatically accelerating even after leaving the throttle is seriously dangerous ..i had read here in xbhp that a guy had got his honda twister replaced for some engine problem ...demand a replacement now .. i think you might have to pay the road tax again then ...

Yes I just verified on my bike and there is a pipe. I think it is the coolant overflow pipe. It is being routed to some location through the side panel near the tank. i dont know where. But it seems like a pretty long pipe.Originally posted by Red_Redemption View PostGuys need some urgent help

It could be possible that in the process of opening and refitting the tank the mechanics either forgot to fit the overflow pipe or removed it completely.
Just take it to a different SVC this time and tell them what has happened and get it rectified.

this problem of idling at high revs is not new in pulsars...its there in 180 and 220 also...specially 180ug4. The throttle cable gets pulled by the pully thingy near the carb which gets stuck... Needs a kick on the carb and some fiddling and it comes back to normal...that stupid mech should know this working in a bajaj svc... But that accelerating part is serious... Demand a replacement(close to impossible) so that the big buffs at bajaj sit up and notice atleast....Originally posted by Red_Redemption View PostGuys need some urgent help

I dont know what the SVC guys were thinking, but when I read that ur RPM is stuck at 8k!!!!!, my 1st reaction was that the Accelerator cable must be getting pulled or stuck somewhere.Originally posted by Red_Redemption View PostGuys need some urgent help

Right now can't make out of the loose pipe, u are talking about. Will check it out with my Destiny.
BTW, I don't think replacement is possible,(now that the NS has been rectified), but u can shoot a mail to bajaj, explaining the incident properly, and asking for an explanation for ripping the bike off during the run-in period.
This might also help ur case, if (God forbid) there is a engine seizure later)sigpicRelationships change, evolve, and it goes deep.

its not actually a copy of nsOriginally posted by myth2104 View PostWaiting for people to scream their lungs out
"They copied Pulsar 200 NS"

its inspired by its elder sibling z1000... Kawasaki already sells bajaj bikes in some countries under its own brand name... In indonesia pulsars are called kawasaki rouser(lol..funny name...rouser
sounds like vi*gra
) who knows, there might be even kawasaki engineering inside the NS... Go through this articale from bsmotoring...

Thanks for the replays guys
yes, the idle speed is low. At the time of cold-start, engine goes off if I leave the throttle in the initial stage, but later its works normallyOriginally posted by Enthusiastic View PostSame thing in my bike now (stunner). Your idle speed is very low and bike is running on lean mixture. It should be around 1400-1500RPM.
is it !!!Originally posted by Rahulbarik View Postthats a good thing actually... No need to run to the svc... You should be happy that your bike is maintaining a constant rpm.... Dont worry...all is fine... And your idle rpm is low, but dont touch it since your bike is running fine...let it be there if it is not troubleing you...
there is no trouble apart from
1) At the time of cold-start, engine goes off if I leave the throttle in the initial stage, but later its works normally
2) it start to move-on on 1st gear only when it reaches the 2.7K to 3K
and one BIG advantage of my bike condition is, my friends could not able to ride it as engine goes off

And coming back to lean mixture: I heard that, lean mixture cause engine heat problem and hence it lead to damage in the piston rings and so on... (correct me if I am wrong). so as i said earlier, my RPM is set to 1000 (by default from day 1), and when i give choke it raises to 3000.
NOW the question is: do i need to change the CO% screw or idle screw?
(anyways am not going to touch any of those screws. but if i know something about it, i can say SVC guy to do as i needed)

It has always been these SVC ppl who mess up Pulsar. Well I don't know much about Bajaj but dude you certainly shouldn't leave them easily. You can try going to consumer court. Well this may sound too much but it is not. You just need to pay 100rs or something and you can file your case online. Trust me it works.Originally posted by Red_Redemption View PostGuys need some urgent help
