I liked the one I had on my r15 v2, mrf it was but had a lot of punctures.
On Rc 200 ,tyre grip is also good. I don't know the specs of their tyre .
Can similar be available for our ns. ? Price ..? I need a cost efficient but not eurosslip tyre.
Heard a time ago tvs launched soft compound tyres.

Rc or d200 has 150/60 rear .. Might just fit on ns
Someone did it here on Xbhp long way back ..
For say slightly more stringent budget go for ceat zoom xl .. Has decent grip as people say ..
Sunilg sir has it on his ns he might be able to throw some light on this ..

Bought Michelin Pilot Street Radials 110/70 and 150/60 for my 200NS last week. Pair cost with fitting was 9500/-Originally posted by Anuj_Gupta View PostAhh, which will be best of both the worlds. .?

For the stock size pair for same michelin tires cost was 9000/-. This is at JC Road Bangalore.
Pirelli Sports Demon in stock size for 200NS was quoted 9000-10000/- by 2 dealers.
MRF Revz 150/60 rear tire cost lowest I saw is 4500/-
I would say MRF would be best for 6-7000/- budget. This time I wanted to get the feel of what good grip means, so went for Michelin (this is my first bike).

So the Michelin tires say "for max load of 280kg tire pressure 41psi" both front and rear tires. As both tires have same specs I am thinking, the load is the load on the individual tire and not the full load of the bike. But What is the division of load for 200NS between front and rear tire?? My friend who used to work iin TVS tires, says its 1:2.
MY guesstimate is for 300kg max weight of 200NS it should be like 100kg front and 200kg rear. But then is the relation between load and tire pressure linear?? (280:41=? 140:20.5) It will not be linear for sure.
I think 30psi front and 36-38psi for rear seems alright. Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference...

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Bro! Ns is what it is because of it's weight distribution. Unladen, it is 72kg front and 73kg back. On top of this, add something like 60% of your weight to rear and 40% to front.Originally posted by nilesh14587 View PostBought Michelin Pilot Street Radials 110/70 and 150/60 for my 200NS last week. I think 30psi front and 36-38psi for rear seems alright.
There is a minimum pressure for any tyre to somewhat retain it's shape.
Let us say you are 70 and your pillion is 70kg
Weight distribution would be approximately
Front 72+(140*0.4)=128 kg
Back 73+(140*0.6)=157kg
These are approximate only, but will come close to real world figures.
30 front and 36 rear seems fine. You can try out 28 for front if it gets bumpy

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Today i visited svc problem is gone completely... They unscrewed whole assembly and refitted it properly....Originally posted by krixna View PostCheck the (adjustable) rod that goes into the master cylinder (from the pedal). Should be loose. It should have at least 2-3 mm free play. Means first 5-10 mm of pedal should be free. If the rod is tight, piston in the master cylinder will not return fully, pressure inside the system will not be released completely when you remove your foot and brakes may remain half engaged. Small misalignment may cause little rubbing, but not a huge drag like you have.
Another possibility is, the piston that works the pads has accumulated a sticky substance and is not freely moving in the cylinder.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Thanks Bro. I better prefer a mechanic.Originally posted by nikzcool View PostYes that's the one bro.
Costed 550 with fitting for one bulb, but generally they Dell in pain. Got it locally from a car shop.
I changed it locally without visiting svc and I later asked with svc manager they said it doesn't affect the warranty any how as it is a consumable item.
Yes to diy u will require Allen key and a spanner not sure of the size but bajaj tool set is crap.

Oh you mean the one in the centre of the LCD console?. Auh, so finally that is the one.... So this is on the newer models....I can see that. But still that doesn't do any favor, it blinks sometimes and sometimes not....!!!Originally posted by krixna View PostI remember that... the 'petrol pump' icon blinking when the fuel goes low. Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Good points bro. But anyway mine is 3.5K KMs, hence hope I don't need to worry about battery probs. Anyhow, can you post your bike pics?. Also how did you do the USB charging?. Can we do it without too much of wire clutter?. HID projector lamp 35w?, does it offer more throw than a 55\60w H bulb?.Originally posted by chinna_rao View PostHi all...
just completed a 1700km ride...From Vizag to Bharuch
ODO is now at 17k
Faced serious issues during this ride( no issues at all when I did Bharuch to Vizag in last November during winter)
1.Gear linkage mounting bolt came off about 150 kms into the start of ride...luckily was in 6th gear...had to ride another 50km to get a jugaad bolt that would allow the gear rod to rotate
2.battery was charged one week before ride and was used frequently without any problem....but at 600km the self start died out on me...had to push the bike and start it in gear
3.battery completely died out(console went blank and stopped my engine while I was driving) at 1300km...luckily this happened just nearby a trucker stop so I could get a no. 10 spanner to access the battery...pulled out all the accessories other than original wiring and console came back on.. Started bike by pushing again...
4.engine was continuously running hot the whole second day of my journey...with the fan also continuously on my legs felt very very uncomfortable...unbearable summer😰😰😰
5.rear disc brake (the foot lever) suddenly went soft after 800kms...it wouldn't get tight however much I tried to adjust the hydraulic piston rod...brake oil was up to level...gave up and continued riding...after about 200kms rear brake suddenly started working again...
The accessories I installed were
1.hid projector 35watts
2.bike security system( have petrol and horn thieves in my area)
3.pipe horn with compressor(had to install compressor beneath the rear seat, pipes beside engine and painted black to blend in)
4.USB charger for charging my devices during touring
All these accessories were there since 2 years and I have not had any problem with the battery till now..not even during my Bharuch to Vizag ride..
Checked yesterday and found the side wall of the battery has swollen up...could be because of the SVC guys in Vizag who took apart the electrical wiring for accessories and didn't put it back properly...or could be that my battery got deep discharged as it was lying idle since 5 months
Rear brake problem started coming after I had the both sprockets and chain replaced during the same service...brake wouldn't work at all or it would clamp tight to the disc until I had to stop the vehicle or risk melting the disk(it became red hot)
I am sharing this just for your information before you go for long rides...
BTW getting all my accessories wired again after I change my battery...the electrician in Bharuch does a very good job and is a friend too...

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Don't remember name exactly now. May be its "Vijay" (need to check on bill). While coming from Minerava Circle, after 2nd signal on JC Road, there is JK tire shop, next to it this shop is there.Originally posted by sivakumar.arul View PostPlease give the details of shop. I want to buy. How's the performance of the upsized tyres. Any feedback?
Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk
There is one more shop which quoted 200 bucks less than this guy for 150/60 - 100/70 pair (for 130/60 - 100/70 pair it was almost same in both shops). It was something "Manu Traders" or something like that. From above mentioned 2nd signal take left and on the right side of the road just before big CEAT tire shop this is located. But dunno how much he charges for fitting (the one I bought from took 300 bucks).
So I got 150/60 + 110/70 pair at 9200/- + 300/- for fitting = 9500/-
Of coarse after changing to new tires the change would be significant just because the older tires have lost the grip big time. But still:- Michelin tires are way too better than EuroSlip tires. Bike is more nimble (contrary to my expectations with wider tires).
- A little more drag on throttle at low rpms. But improved traction.
- Evaluating effect on Milage. So far it doesn't seem to be significant, if at all any.
- But the confidence the tires give is awsome. The EuroSlip tires would stop giving feedback after 50-60kmph and on sand and I would feel like floating. But these tires are much more sure-footed.
- Breaking is improves so much. I am still in run-in period so not pushing them too hard.
- Wet grip it to be seen, its been dry so far in BLR. Also the ride has become little more comfortable as shocks are reduced.
- Feels a little weird for 1-2 days but then you get used to it.

Its not bumpy. Even at 45psi, it was not bumpy at all. Well currently its 30-36psi. I would try 30-38psi next.Originally posted by krixna View PostBro! And so I did, one quick look and it all made sense and became tottaly clear.Originally posted by Mr.Officer View PostWill check mine and see how it goes from there...
Unit on my bike doesnt rest on the slot as it should. So now just need to add a spacer to make it all fit properly and adjust brake pedal height as desired.
Also, adjusted chain slack as per the tips provided by you in earlier posts. Really easy to do it and get it right.
Next is headlight upgrade...Never argue with a fool, for he will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
My rear suspension is set towards the softer side, ie. it's on the 3rd notch.
Last time i went to ktm svc and told him to set to stiffer side (ie. revert to factory setting, 1st notch).
And after that i felt the ride quality very poor, i rode on that setting for abt 200 kms and it felt very much harsh to ride with that.
Felt that i am riding without suspension, the height was lowered too, felt as if the bike stalled at one place.
Now, i again changed the setting to the 3rd notch, and it feels better, but this time softer, and lost stabilty!
What could be the problem? Is there any problem with the monoshock?
