They should have taken a connection from the side stand and given it to the 'box' for ignition cutoff too. Safety-wise, excellent. If starter doesnt work in gear, why not this? But you know why they didn't do it? One, it has no centre stand :banghead: You can't keep the engine running in side stand for tuning, timing check etc. Two, the stand switch. If it fails (some people I know have failed switches) you will be stranded. Unless you know some electricals.

Bro I assume you have a new model ns, same like mine Jan 2015.

About the fuel indicator where people think it is combined with rmp indicator is totally wrong.
Back in January I had posted about the fuel indicator and where it is located.
I don have the pic now you could search the thread else I'll upload it latr.

I remember that... the 'petrol pump' icon blinking when the fuel goes low. Btw, I fill up when it goes Reserve.

Motul 300V 15W50 or 20W50 is best for your driving habits (redlining), if you are not bothered about cost (btw 900-1000 per litre)

                  5th service done. 29060 Kms.

oil: replaced stock oil with Motul 7100 (750/- Per ltr from karol bagh with bill)
                  changed clutch and friction plates.
prepped bike for leh trip that begins on 29th May.

motul will take 100-150 Kms to show its true self. Lets see if its rightly hyped or not.

Yes but only from the bar end side. It remains open from the other side n i still need to figure out to fix that.. But the accelerator is jammed.. Need to bring in some play to free that..

When the fuel meter begins to show no bar in console.. how much fuel we can assume that the tank has got?

                                Hi all...
just completed a 1700km ride...From Vizag to Bharuch
                                ODO is now at 17k
Faced serious issues during this ride( no issues at all when I did Bharuch to Vizag in last November during winter)
1.Gear linkage mounting bolt came off about 150 kms into the start of ride...luckily was in 6th gear...had to ride another 50km to get a jugaad bolt that would allow the gear rod to rotate
2.battery was charged one week before ride and was used frequently without any problem....but at 600km the self start died out on me...had to push the bike and start it in gear
3.battery completely died out(console went blank and stopped my engine while I was driving) at 1300km...luckily this happened just nearby a trucker stop so I could get a no. 10 spanner to access the battery...pulled out all the accessories other than original wiring and console came back on.. Started bike by pushing again...
4.engine was continuously running hot the whole second day of my journey...with the fan also continuously on my legs felt very very uncomfortable...unbearable summer😰😰😰
5.rear disc brake (the foot lever) suddenly went soft after 800kms...it wouldn't get tight however much I tried to adjust the hydraulic piston rod...brake oil was up to level...gave up and continued riding...after about 200kms rear brake suddenly started working again...

                                The accessories I installed were
                                1.hid projector 35watts
2.bike security system( have petrol and horn thieves in my area)
3.pipe horn with compressor(had to install compressor beneath the rear seat, pipes beside engine and painted black to blend in)
4.USB charger for charging my devices during touring

All these accessories were there since 2 years and I have not had any problem with the battery till now..not even during my Bharuch to Vizag ride..
Checked yesterday and found the side wall of the battery has swollen up...could be because of the SVC guys in Vizag who took apart the electrical wiring for accessories and didn't put it back properly...or could be that my battery got deep discharged as it was lying idle since 5 months

Rear brake problem started coming after I had the both sprockets and chain replaced during the same service...brake wouldn't work at all or it would clamp tight to the disc until I had to stop the vehicle or risk melting the disk(it became red hot)

I am sharing this just for your information before you go for long rides...
BTW getting all my accessories wired again after I change my battery...the electrician in Bharuch does a very good job and is a friend too...
