Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
This is worrying news, but also maybe incorrect.Originally posted by Sal View PostNS production has been stopped?
I had been to Bajaj showroom to book a NS and they said that NS production has been stopped and its now replaced by AS200 wtf!!
I read on the internet that 200ns was not going to be stopped and that it was going to get the engine refinements of the AS and RS.
motoroctane.com/news/13243-bajaj-pulsar-as-200-price-to-increase-exclusive
Maybe that is why the new batch is delayed (to incorporate the engine refinements)?
Maybe bajaj is giving production preference to the AS and RS over the NS. I heard some reports that they are struggling to meet production with booking demands.
I am desperate to believe that they havent stopped production of the NS. I have been saving for 9 months and am just a couple of weeks away from booking.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Not a good news to hear when I start my morning. This is bull**t. Bajaj must have been out of their mind. 200NS in no way similar to 200AS esp in look\agility department.200NS gives a damn look and a terrible street fighter look against rivals. But AS200?...Originally posted by Sal View PostNS production has been stopped?

Come on...!!! They should have stopped P220 instead.

Their website still shows 200ns. Guess someone here has misinterpreted the message.. They must be prioritizing the production of 200AS and 200RS since they are new models. That doesn't mean they have stopped producing 200ns.Originally posted by jbm_guy View PostNot a good news to hear when I start my morning. This is bull**t. it's actually turning out to be true, yet to get a official confirmation from Bajaj itselfOriginally posted by jbm_guy View PostNot a good news to hear when I start my morning. This is bull**t. Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Yes it's just a rumor.... No dealership want to invest in ns200 as as200 ans as150 and coming model ns 150 will go on sale more then ns200 that's y they are not ordering ns200 and saying it's production has been stopped...Originally posted by jbm_guy View PostNot a good news to hear when I start my morning. I dug more into it. Well, initially i had been to Kalyani Bajaj to book the NS and they were the ones who said that the NS' production has been stopped. As a matter of fact it has stopped, but temporarily. They want to sell the AS'es for now. When asked, they said that they are not sure when will NS be available again, might take 3-4 months.
Just when i was planning to purchase one. FML !
Did try the AS200, it feels bigger, handle isn't easy to turn when the bike is still - unlike NS (obviously due to the added weight of fairing) and it does feel heavier than NS. I believe NS weighs at 145kgs, and this one is at 153kgs.Last edited by Sal; 05-28-2015, 12:49 PM.It's a lot like nuts and bolts - if the rider's nuts, the ride - bolts!

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
12800 odd KMs done. 3rd service done at 9400 KMs
Present condition
Vibs
loss of milege - 32 worst, 37 best, riding conditions 60 highway, 40 mild traffic, riding speed (highway - 90, max)
chain makes noise and slips at low speeds in top gear though lubed recently
service itinerary
oil change to motul 3100 ( daily running - 80 Kms, planning to change after 3000 kms so should be ok), replace oil filter
spark plugs check (havent changed in 3rd service) , carb check, clean and tune
tighten the bolts and nuts.
check the chain freeplay, sproket condition, clean and lube it
should I check for the valve clearences and tappet clearence and adjust the tappet? (tappet adjustment was done in the 3rd service, afterwhich the noise increased)
Please let me know if anything else has to be done. I need a little more mileage as the daily running is high.

I hate AS200 primarily for it's fairing and lack of agility, even RS200 no different.Originally posted by Sal View PostI dug more into it. Bajaj in favor of increasing the sales for RS200 and AS200, could have plot this stupid plan. Because if sales doesn't increase in the next few quarters, then those models would be considered a failure (as per Indian market strategy), which will further affect the forever sales. But what about the people who bought 200NS?.
But if Bajaj is stopping production, then we might all be put into trouble in getting spares over the next following years, same fate like XCD...Heck, even the resale would be worse

Ns shares same engine and bolts etc etc with as and apart from fairing... ns is same as AS200Originally posted by jbm_guy View PostI hate AS200 primarily for it's fairing and lack of agility, even RS200 no different.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Guys stop freaking out.
Bajaj wont stop the NS as there is none in its category. AS has a fairing and projector headlamp but sacrifices handling and adds more weight. There are people still buying NS and sales isnt bad. They might slow the production of NS. on the worst case even if they stop the production. The NS which are present in the market will be exclusive and rare
. As per the parts, I think we are covered in that department with the AS having similar engine and the carb.
Someone mentioned about the resale value..well thats there and then there are those like me who dont want to sell NS. Its a fun bike. Even as we grow out of NS and upgrade to bigger bikes we should still keep them to ride inside city traffic. It feels like an SUV infront of other bikes which offers low ride height.
Imagine if the NS stops and few years from now when all the NS are extinct and you take the bike out and roam..that is some damn good exclusive feeling!!

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
I found out the secret man! Dealer's margin (profit) of the NS is the lowest in the 200+ category (Bajaj). Every dealer was trying hard to sell the 220 after the NS came, but it took away a major portion of the 220 sales. And 220 offered more profit to the dealer so that many of them started spreading stories like NS has very poor mileage, lots of engine trouble etc. But none worked, at least as much as they hoped. Now, enter more models...with more profit than NS. More headache! The NS will still keep taking away a major portion of the sales, maybe the new models may flop due to bad sales. So dealers are giving feedback to Bajaj that they want more 220s and the new models, and they already have stock of NS, so don't want it now. What does Bajaj do? Pause production for the domestic market. Remember, NS is still being produced for export. That's the story behind down-marketing the NS.Originally posted by balakrishnavijay View PostGuys stop freaking out.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
We all hope and I agree as well, I love her in every possible way. But this will be my last bike (Last and Best ever), due to various constraints in family. Anyway, but the uniqueness that we are getting right now from P220/AS200/RS200 and other rivals will be lost once Pulsar 150NS hits the roadOriginally posted by balakrishnavijay View PostGuys stop freaking out.

, Ideally they aren't same, but still then you will feel some loss of uniqueness, for sure
