      Finally Booked My NS today.
Have some queries while taking delivery. Any anyone please help me what are the things that i need to check while taking the delivery ? Also the Sales person asked to get the Teflon coating. Is it really necessary ? It costs INR 1000 ? also when asked for IND number plate he said INR 850 ? Is it that costly ? Any one from bangalore help me with these details. Booked my bike @ Amba Bajaj in Hosur road.
Hey BUddy Congratulation on the booking.. Teflon coating is not at all required save the 1k.. also the IND number plate will cost you only 450 bucks.. where are you put up in b'lore???
There is a place on Old Airport Road (Murugeshpalya) where the IND num plates are made (printed) I bought directly from there for 400 bucks and then got it fitted outside for 50 bucks.. Let me know if you want the address drop me a PM and I shall reply..

You can check the following while taking delivery
      1. Physical Inspection -- Check for and scratches and paint peel offs.. Check for Coolant, Engine Oil (before starting bike and holding it straight) & Fuel level..
      2. Lights -- Switch on all lights and to test if all is working well.. Pilots, head lamp (both Hi & Lo), All 4 Indicators, Rear light when head lamp & Pilots are ON... Brake light both while pressing front and rear brakes.. =
      3. Start the bike let it idle for 1 min and half and then throttle slow.. if the bike stalls get the idling adjusted if required.
      4. Tool Kit & First Aid Kit... Bike Manual.
      5. If you picking it up from Khivraj Indiranagar then get the center stand fitted as they have stock..
      6. CHeck how many kilometers have been done on the ODO.. It should not be a lot.. some 10 or 15 kms should be fine..

Most importantly please try taking (if possible) delivery during the day so that you can inspect your bike freely and thoroughly..

First my congratulations to all P200 NS owners. I would like to share my problem with all of you and request suggestions from you as well. I am an NRI residing in UAE on employment. I proceed to our country on vacation every half-yearly / sometimes once in a year depending on the leave availability. Since I am very much interested in biking I own a Pulsar 180 bought in December 2011 just before my vacation in Jan 2012 and run 4K KM. My bike is always idle expect during my vacation period.

After I returned to UAE, I came to know about P200 NS and have been following this thread for updates as I am very much impressed with P200 NS. Once P200 NS was launched, I told my cousin to sell my P180 and buy P200 NS. So he approached an auto finance company to show the vehicle and get the offer. I was shocked to know the rate offered by him that it was just 33K to 36K. However my cousin consulted some more auto financiers and even he tried for an exchange in our local Bajaj showroom but no avail. Therefore he advised me not to sell at such a hefty loss and forget P200 NS for time-being. Eventually I refrain myself from selling P180 and buying P200 NS.

But to be honest, still I can't give up P200 NS and at the same time can't sell my P180 at such a low price. Thus I have been in so predicament and unable to makeup myself. So please give your valuable suggestion.

PS: My P180 registration number is 10, for which I paid 7K in auction.
      (From Feb 2007 till Dec 2011 I owned P150)

      Thank you
      Satya Kumar
I sold my P180 2009 (UG IV) model 43k done for 35 k at bajaj showroom itself.. Also for a friend of mine his P180 Jan 2011 model with 8K done was quoted 45k max by the showroom.. Hope this helps..
Also, let this be the last OT on the ownership thread..

I just wanted to know if the service centre/showroom would replace the logo under the warranty. If not, could you please tell my how much would the logo cost, and will i have to buy it in a set?
Pulsar logo coming off or tearing off will not be considered under warrant.. Anyone can scratch your bike or some kids can pull it off.. its not a manufacturing defect ... I don't know the cost you can go to SVC and check cost & availability both..

        1) Whats the max speed you have done sitting in fully upright postion? (Kindly mention your body weight)
        2) Whats the max speed you have done with a pillion on board? (Kindly mention your's and the pillion's body weight)
        3) Is it possible to cruise all day at 130kmph on speedo? (Considering that fact that its relatively tall geared than Duke 200)

Please answer these 3 questions. Thanks a lot in advance!
        1) By Fully upright you mean no crouching , never tried , a lot of wind resistance , but yes after crouching and sticking to the tank i have touched 146kmph a couple of times. (70 kgs)
        2) Did 136 kmph with a pillion (total weight : 160) at Nelmangla toll road.
        3) Not all day at 130kmph... but you can cruise at this range 110-120kmph easily... Bike will not disappoint you.

Bro.. any FE differences by switching to MRF REV-Z... How about the handling on dry roads?

Haha Naked Wolves is the best thing that has happened to the owners of P200NS in Bangalore .

FE dropped by 1-2 kmpl..just a guess... I just like to enjoy my ride, have stopped calculating mileage.
The road grip is awesome , but yes the bike does feel heavy from rear at low speeds, at high speeds i never loose confidence now, you can feel the difference on wet roads specially.. a huge improvement !!
ATGATT! There are many wonderful riders/drivers out there who would intrude in your riding space without any notice. Be prepared. Stay Safe.

Try cleaning by directing water hose on the pads. The water from hose is to be directed on the pads seen on either side of disc....Please note after water wash the brake will be poor and will become ok ,after riding a few Kms and applying front brake.

I am at 5300 kms on ODO.. Got my second service done at 4700kms, changed the oil to Motul 5100.
No major issues, just the normal console buzzing.
Got my rear tire changed to MRF REVZ-S. The grip on wet roads is just awesome. But yeah bike feels a little heavy on the rear now.

Even bought a Spartan Helios Jacket for my safety.

Some pics from Naked wolves ride to Manchanabele Dam, one with me with all the riding gear On.

Hi, you changed both the tyres or just rear one. Can you post a pic where i can see how the rear portion looks with revz s. And how much the cost n what you did with the stock one.

AFAIK, oil level must be checked when the engine is cold.
When hot/running, the oil is supposed to be moving all over the engine assembley, and it won't give the correct level.
Hi Shibadip, where are the markings for min and max level of oil.. are they printed/engraved on rim of the eyepiece like thing where we check oil level ?

                No boss...Nothing is written/engraved
If you look at that window, there is a small rectangular box kindda hole inside that window. The top line of that rectangular box is the max level, and the bottom line is the min level.

Check the level keeping the bike On the center stand on a plain level, and on the morning (before cranking up the bike)
                All the Best..

I am facing bad ones post 7/8K RPM level..
Vibes I felt them post 4k till 6k RPM... then I reached 120 some where between 7 - 8 k RPM on the 6th gear... was not that vibey worth complaining or taking it to the SVC.

As for the 7k+ vibes... I felt some.. but were very negligible ones...!!

But during the Breaking in... I felt that scary vibes post 8k RPM..!!

DESTINY is all good and shiney!!!!!
but she is complaining of less rides. Have my CA exams from next week. So hardly spending some time with her!!
as soon as the exams gets over , have my plans for long rides..
But during the Breaking in... I felt that scary vibes post 8k RPM..!! - Yes yes... I am facing the exact same thing!!!! and i am 600+ kms on ODO. So I guess I should not be worried..
Can u tell by what odo range the SCARY run-in vibes in ur bike went out???

@RahulBarik has changed his tyres to MRF ones.. and since it has a straighter profile than the eurogrips, that it looks beefier
Also the grip has increased a lot, and the tyre even if it skids, it behaves like a ABS, and the bike remains on a straight line.(This was my personal experience while riding his NS)
but the side-effects that he complains of is -
                        1) A slight decrase in pick-up
                        2) A slight decrease in Fuel-efficiency

                            • Got my centre stand fitted...517 for the stand...SVC was charging 330 as labour for fitting

took the stand to a local mech to get it fitted...he charged 230....(bargained from 250)
after seeing how the stand is fitted it looked so easy that i could do it myself...

Strange thhing happened while going to the svc

while i was just about to take a turn and go the the svc the bike suddenly started jerking as if no petrol...and i had given the turn indicator to stop at the left side...a bloody autorickshaw without seeing my turn indicator wanted to over take me and that too from left....thank god his brakes were ok otherwise my rear portion of the bike would have been hit...

then after parking fiddled with the petrol knob and put it to reserve...same behavior..then put it to ON and the bike is normal now....

but after fitting the stand and going home bike again started behaving strangely....from 2.5-4K rpm the bike acted as if there is a rope trying to pull it back and not go forward...pick up and acceleration low with a pillion..but after 4Krpm it felt like Popeye eating spinach and a great power surge....then it seemed the bike is in reserve and filled petrol

after filling petrol the bike behaved normally from 2.5K to 4K rpm and a little power surge post 4K

started shifting after 4.5K rpm unlike before at 4K

i learnt the bike doesnt like to be in lower revs...and yes the bike grunts well at higher revs...

so can you post a DIY? I know that pic-by-pic wont be possible, but how about a step-by-step text only DIY?
And after seeing the stand do you think the stand is similar to that of any other bike? (I know you don't have an experience with bikes prior to this...but just in case you think)
                                Thanks
