Am sure all these little vibration problems can be easily sorted out,but the tank one will remain forever unless they give some extra padding.

There isn't much issues with the bike at all at least for me(1200kms), except for some vibes in the tank around 3.5-4.5k rpm.

@all:approx. how many full turns(anti-clockwise) should i need to keep my AFR screw to get good performance and a mileage of at least 35-40 kmpl. currently i am mot sure but i am getting a mileage of 30 kmpl which is a bit low.my bike has clocked around 920 kms and i had started taking it higher RPMs(7k-8K) after the first service but that too only when the engine was warm.

Don't mess up with AFR screw.Originally posted by avi_nash94 View Post@all:approx. how many full turns(anti-clockwise) should i need to keep my AFR screw to get good performance and a mileage of at least 35-40 kmpl. currently i am mot sure but i am getting a mileage of 30 kmpl which is a bit low.my bike has clocked around 920 kms and i had started taking it higher RPMs(7k-8K) after the first service but that too only when the engine was warm.
Each bike's turns are different.

i dont have the main stand in my bike..will fit it at first service or before..sai service was quoting 1000 rupees for the centre stand and i felt that is too much...might be i'll get the stand from the svc or some shop of genuine spares and get a local mech fit it...but i'm not sure if i shud do this or no...the local mech can screw up as he might have never even worked on this bike but well its just a centre stand i suppose and few nuts and bolts to fit it...Originally posted by thumpmeister View PostWell, i am not wasting any money, as im getting it as part of the accessories freebies.
what did you get in terms of accessories? Did you opt for the main stand & bike cover?
Did you bargain for the middle stand & bike cover as part of the free accessories?
he had quoted 98.3K to me..i asked this is a bit costly...and a month back the price was 98.1K why did u increase 200 rupees? he told okay u give 98.1K and i asked what accesroies..he was offering a crappy helmet but i told him on the phone i asked you that time u said you'd give me a good vega helmet...so he offered me a vega helme a garrage cover which at maz would cost 300 rupees and a bicycle lock which he called helmet lock that must be max 50-75 rupees not more...
get a mainstand if possible...the side stand isnt so confidence inspiring..
some issues arent problems at all....there are some memebrs with specific issues like a disk getting bent again and again but personally i have never seen or heard anyone's NS getting a disk bent...may be a batch produced was faulty and by coincidence he spare disk changed under warranty also was from the same faulty batch..Originally posted by thumpmeister View PostHey people, initially when i was deciding on upgrading my ride and was following this exhaustive ownership thread to decide on the bike, all i could read about were people waxing eloquent about the NS including the first owners and other waiting for the NS to be launced in their cities. But now, after couple of months, all i am reading about especially from the last 20 odd pages are nothing but problems. Now, I have booked a Yellow NS on Saturday 27th, after much deliberation over the KTM, but these comments are giving me the jeepers....
.
Should i cancel my booking and go for the KTM? Also, please note that ma wife would be riding on the NS most of the times with me and she thought that the pillion seat on the NS was bit too high for her compared to the KTM. Any views on this point also, fellow NS owners?
Cheers.
even KTM owners faced many problems like coolant overflowing and paint peeling off and what not....so id say the NS and duke are equal in terms of quality and reliability...KTM might be a wee bit more but the NS quality is definetly better than earlier pulsars
if you can afford the KTM theres nothign better than that...rememebr KTM and duke are two different types of bikes and just share the same engine bore...nothing else is same...
i rode with my mother as pillion and she too complained the seat is high but she found the seat very comfortable(more comfortable than my activa) and was happy she could see the road ahead unlike when she sat pillon behind me on my activa
some issues are just minor niggles and not issues at all..."dimag ka vehem" even i felt there are issues but there actually isnt...today while riding back home a guy from an auto ricksha started shouting something pointing at the headlight or front forks and i wonder what hapened and i was tensed the whole ride back home and when i got down and saw there was nothing...
also refrain from any tuning of carb if u are inexperienced and even if u are experienced just let the settings remain stock and get minor issues rectified in 1st service...the bike works like a charm....handles great...and remember..naked bikes are not good for high speed riding...so you are bound to get uncomfortable..the NS is one of the best STREET machine and second only to duke200....Last edited by mayank.travadi; 10-30-2012, 03:05 PM.Pulsar 200NS parts list

Lot of Commotion regarding quality of the bike for the past couple of days. Well Nothing is perfect in this world is it. There are solutions to almost all the problem faced by few fellow xbhp'ians over here. All in all, this is one GEM of a vehicle. It has its own presence on the road which is its USP. Its Personality is something which every biker will definitely love. It has the Panache to enthrall it's rider. I'm surely proud to be part of the 200NS family

Its better if you yourself open all the parts one by one and check which screws are loose or needs tightening.I would have gone to the limit of testing my ride with parts opened up for getting to the bottom of the problem.I would have done the same, coz I have the proper tools for my ride.Originally posted by Shibadip View PostIt is on the second Softest setting. And yes, one needs a Spl tool to change the setting.]
All - My Destiny is suffering from vibrations, and Really bad ones post 6K range. Met with @Rahul Barik today evening, and he too confirmed that the bike is having extra vibrations. Where-as his bike is running comparatively much smoother even after 7K!!!!

And NS is quite A Complicated bike.. Even for getting into Simple things like the Air Filter, One needs to Open up the COver Tank, as well as the Actual fuel tank inside it!!!
And during the 1st Service I complained of extra vibrations From the Headlight Panels, And the SVC guy found out that there was some nuts loose which were Affixed INSIDE the side panels, which u cannot reach, unless the the headlight part is Completely opened up!!sigpicRelationships change, evolve, and it goes deep.
Only thing I can say - "The storm is coming"

Then get hold of these tools..they cost really less and its a great thing to open up the whole bike by yourself and change things. It will also save many a visit to the service centre! And please open up the headlight and fix the screws.Tip the SVC guy and prevent ur bike from being a Nokia in vibrate mode.

The Hdlight Console Still vibrates(but less than before), and the SVC manager Has promised to replace the part once the spares Arrives in KOlkat!!!!!!!!!!!!
Abt The Tools, why not I Pay A vist to ur garage, and while u can check out my ride, I could put those tolls of urs to some use!

I don't have a garage,I have a humble shed where I keep and work on my bike.Sure u can visit,no issue. But if something unexpected happens (since I don't know the nitty-gritties of ur 200NS,please don't blame me and do visit the SVC. I asked my SVC the particular tools needed to "undress" my bike and bought them.Hardly took Rs.200.Originally posted by Shibadip View PostThe Hdlight Console Still vibrates(but less than before), and the SVC manager Has promised to replace the part once the spares Arrives in KOlkat!!!!!!!!!!!!
