No, Pinaki Da.. there isonly one box on the coupon slip, which says, whether the oil ha been changed with genuine bajaj oil?? along with a reminder that if the Genuine oil change is not done, then the warranty will be null and void.

Bajaj should be having the same setup so just be wary of it , this is the digital age .
Ya, i have seen this stuff on Satyajit Da's bike records. Was really impressed by it..
Hope bajaj has the same system too..

Me too, not seen many NS around my area. Will see some NS's when gone to Thrissur town. May be some Dukes too.

During cold morning rides the engine is silent but the engine starts roaring like a bass tube after sometime with vibration and noise from fairing. I am little concerned about the sound and engine is running with bajaj oil from past 800 kms. The fairing noise irritates me like hell.
Any suggestions to lower the noise????
Should I change the enigine oil to motul or any other. If yes then please specify the full name of the oil. As mentioned I am at 1300 kms so specify accordingly.
Your bike sounds silent in the morning is good...mine sounds like a truck/tractor when i start it in the morning and when it idles...i guess it will get better after first service...(the bike is new and its been just 4 days with me)

i guess till ur free services are not over just stick to the bajaj oil..i dont think its that bad....and u can live with it...there are chances if u use another oil and they dont tick in ur service coupon ur warranty might be void...the only option is fill the bajaj oil...if money is no problem after service at home drain the bajaj oil and use an oil of your own choice but preferrably mineral or SS...

@JK i tried your method...start the bike normally..give it a little throttle and turn on the choke and that time it works fine..only when the engine is hot and choke is turned on(yes it shudnt be done i just chcked it for a second) the rpm goes very high about 5-6K

My top speed with a pillion as I said earlier was 128kmph at 7.8k rpm. I think it could have gone more but I ran out of road.

@Shibadip - 2 years down the line we'll be seeing Rahul on his NS and we on ours. The only difference...His bike's top end - 100kmph and ours' ~125kmph. Chillax! (kidding)

P.S. My odo reads 600kms. Will go in for 1st service and get the engine changed...ofcourse with Bajaj Genuine Oil. And then at 1000kms will change it to Motul myself. Tension khatam!

There is a sound coming from chain.. i guess there is a need of cleaning or lubrication or both. Can anybody tell me how to clean and lubricate and which lubricant to be use. The sound is really irritating.

                • you could take a used tooth brush or something and clean the chain with WD-40

for lubrication i guess you have sprays available for that...i am not completely sure about the brand names..other members can help...

                  refer this link

and if you are too lazy to read it like me here are the simple steps

-your bike is new and chain shudnt be very dirty

-(if chain is very dirty)clean the chain with the help of kerosene or WD-40 and an old tooth brush...remove the kerosene or WD-40 with a lint free cloth or a sponge

-take a lube of your choice and spray it on the chain...you can sue gear oil too but it attracts a lot of dust

                  - follow chain lubing periodically about 500-600km and your chain will run fine for a long time

those were test bikes...and the colored side panels didnt make it to the production version of the bike...it can be due to cost cutting measures like using the same black pannel for all the bikes and in case side panels are damaged...they dont have to produce 4 colored side panels for spares...

Put bike on mainstand . Place a sheet of newspaper under the bike' chain/rear-wheel . Gently brush off lose dirt from chain with soft toothbrush . Repeat with the same brush wet with kerosene in a small bowl . Wipe off with soft clean cloth (like a piece of old banian) . Using same brush, brush the chain sparingly with fresh motor oil or SAE90 gear oil(castrol GL4) . Be sure each link gets a drop . Wipe off all excess oil with another piece of similar cloth . Rotate the rear wheel to do all parts of the chain like this . Put a bit of grease on the sprocket teeth , but very carefully - fingers get snagged and cut in there like in a blink of the eye . Adjust chain slack to 1.5" in the middle of the bottom run . Do this at least once a month , and more frequently when you ride in water/mud/sand/dust .

hahaha very funny... that wont happen...i do torture my bike but maintain it(the engine only) equally and 100kmph? Nay.. Even my earlier 125cc topped at 100kmph after 3 years of ultra hardcore abuse... but yeah i do utilise my bike to the fullest... @shibadip: u hope that bajaj have the same software like hero? you must be out of your minds... just hope that Bajaj dont have that kind of a software else we will be in trouble... btw i think bajaj dont have it...coz i changed my disc plate just now under warranty from bl saha svc and joka svc is fully unaware of it...i got the proof earlier only when i complained to bajaj few days ago. They are simply unaware of whats going on... So if your warranty is gone in one svc, visit another @pinaki da: well i heard it from satyajit da that once your warranty is void in one svc of hero, you wont get it anywhere in india... And they wont even let you pour even the hero branded if you buy it from outside...you have to buy from them only....this is really bad.... and sorry for that...got a bit too excited dada...(boyosher dosh)...

                          • Earlier read a lot of questions regarding run-in in this thread. Some says modern engines need no run in and some says opposite.Did some research and found this

Running In | Ash On Bikes
Please read it for doubts regarding run-in this high reving monster, switching to synthetic etc.
Here also someone suggests waiting upto 8k while other suggests 16k.Not sure,I guess waiting won't hurt.Or can try semi-synthetic in between!

Even with or without the software, we have to go as per their rules (viz the oil change). Maintaining such records will help in earning a good sale value at a later stage; provided one does all the scheduled maintenance from the authorized SVC.
I know neither of us will be going to the SVC after the free service, or think of selling the bike as of now, but still, it will be helpful to someone who does

BTW, (boyosher dosh) can have a different meaning altogether!!!
