Not a big deal.Start from Nagpur & get it serviced in Pune(800 odd kms). Next service is at 5000kms and till that time you will have service in place in Bangalore.

It seems they had pre ordered 20 of them, but there aren't much takers in Nagpur. Now I'm considering getting the bike from Maharashtra, and bringing it to Bangalore.

hMMN, SAME THING CAME TO MY MIND while reading your post.
Just that dont have time/resource to bear all the harassment(taking a temp regn; and then coming to kol and make a permanent regn.)

Best of luck to you, if you go ahead with your idea.

Are you really advising 1000 km route on a brand new bike ? As far as i know, long trips are not recommended for a bike which is in "run in" period( especially under 1000km).
        Please clarify.

The golden rules during Running In a new engine:

[1] Not to let the new engine over heat. Therefore on a long journey one would need to let the engine cool after riding for sometime (say after 45-60 mins).

[2] Need to vary the engine speed. This helps the moving parts to bed in properly.

[3] Go in for an early engine oil change. The engine oil during the initial kms have got tiny metallic particles suspended in it as a result of the initial wear and tear.

[4] Do not ride at very low speeds at high gears (which is also called as "Lugging" the engine).

Yes I'm really advising. Modern engine doesn't need that much care, if you are gradually increasing the speed, taking proper breaks in between and also not redling in every gear then 1000km ride is not a big deal. Also don't forget that first service can be easily done in Pune.

Nagpur to Bangalore via Pune will be a really long route, can't spare three days on travelling. But Yes, I can complete 100 odd kms in Pune get it serviced, change just the Oil in Hyderabad (at 500Kms) and arrive at Bangalore.

That's the same dilemma I have. BTW I don't think you will be able to get the RTO passing of Kolkata, until the bike is officially launched there.

it is true that modern engine does not need that much care, that is the reason, i guess modern bikes like CBR250 does not have a run-in period. then is there a need of runnning-in period in P200NS.

Any reason for that?? Are the RTO rules in KOlkata that stringent?? Please elaborate.

Also since MG actually gave a green signal for the long ride; it shows the respect that 200ns has earned while it was being test ridden by our few lucky seniors.
No doubt on the beast that Bajaj have created, but i seriously dont like the way the launch and the distribution is being done. The bike should have been available across PAN India at the same time.
