Bangalore has higher road tax than Mumbai.. My guess is if the bike is priced at 85K ex showroom... It would end up being just over a lakh.. say 1.01 lacs on road in Bangalore...

I'm planning to take the bike on my father's name. In that case I will be exempted to pay tax again in Bangalore.Originally posted by abhiiceman View Postwhen mg has only given a green flag then go ahead bro and itll be an awesome journey with the new butter smooth pulsar, btw wont you need to pay road tax in nagpure and also in bangalore?
I had almost decided but then there are three practical problems. (1) In case if I take in dad's name, claiming insurance here in Bangalore will be a problem. (2) If take it in my name, I don't have a adress poof of Nagpur (seem MH RTO is very stringent on this issue. (3) At Bangalore i'm used to the 25 degrees cool climate, compared to 40-47 degrees in Nagpur, and (4) I won't have more than a week's time to do everything! So I guess I will have to wait!
Not Kolkata RTO alone, for that matter if i'm not wrong, all state RTOs separately certify each type of vehicle. So if WB RTO hasn't cleared the bike, you won't be able to register it. Considering a TC is only applicable for 7 days.Originally posted by Shibadip View PostAny reason for that?? Are the RTO rules in KOlkata that stringent?? Please elaborate.
Also since MG actually gave a green signal for the long ride; it shows the respect that 200ns has earned while it was being test ridden by our few lucky seniors.
No doubt on the beast that Bajaj have created, but i seriously dont like the way the launch and the distribution is being done. The bike should have been available across PAN India at the same time.
In all my previous bike, I have generally followed a hybrid-motoman way of running-in. That is till 800Kms I ride soft, and then some short bursts and post 1500 Kms, I start redlining the bike. All of my bikes, never had any problemBeen There, Done That; Better!

Yeah, MH RTOs are very stringent it seems. I too had a problem with an address proof here in Navi Mumbai. So had to register it on someone else's name. If you stay in a rented accomodation, then the agreement has to be CIDCO registered here or else you'll have to bribe the RTO some 2500-3000 bucks. Even after that, you'll have to give an HR letter or a bank passbook photocopy or an LIC agreement which has the local address. It's frustrating man. I had to wait almost 20 days for my registration.Originally posted by rahuldevnath View PostI'm planning to take the bike on my father's name. So if you have anyone of the above docs then you are good to go with your name.So give them a rent agreement and an HR letter if you are working. The hero always RIDES into the sunset!

Bajaj hasnt made too many ads for Pulsars in the past too. This may be because they are able to sell Pulsars more easily than any other bike that any other vendor is able to sell.Originally posted by Chaoseater View PostWhat about the TV commercial? Right. Pulsars just advertises themselves on the road. Even my six year old nephew asks me - "When will you buy the Pulsar" (He refers bike as pulsar)Originally posted by ashutosh_x View PostBajaj hasnt made too many ads for Pulsars in the past too. Just recollect the last time when you have seen a pulsar(any variant add)
Basic idea- why spent money on advertisement, when there is demand in itself.
Likewise you see, since there is more than expected demand for XUV500, they have stopped showing the ad.
P.S- just remembered there was the "HUNTO" ad for pulsar a short time back, however i guess only for a few days it was aired
@chintan99 - I know you are quite regular in this thread, and have consistently removed our doubts; but it have been short, and very specific. I think its time you give us a short review of your 1week ownership experience.
@rocket - Am eagerly waiting to see more pictures of your RED-BLACK beauty, along with your comments.Last edited by Shibadip; 06-15-2012, 05:57 PM.sigpicRelationships change, evolve, and it goes deep.

Hi folks,
As said I am putting up a review of PULSAR 200 NS and I hope it is informative enough.
Buying DecisionFIRST bike being made available for the customer.
Delivery ExperienceLooks : Absolute Killer its something that pleases everyone, the stance, this beauty sure has road presence and is an attention seeker whether running or in idle. Each one has his vision of looking and liking the bike for me its got to be the star shaped alloy rims which truly enhance the star out of it.
PULSAR 200 NS is like a hot gal you can take home who is simple enough to keep your parents happy and at the same time be a hot topic of discussion amongst friends and make them feel jealous.
Ride/HandlingAcceleration/Gearing : This is an absolute joy and a delight for the soul, it just pulls effortlessly and is so nimble that you wont feel the speed until you glance at the speedo, the clutch and gearing is smoother than ever and the gears slot neatly with no false neutrals, since I am switching over from a p150 which had one sided gearing, its taking me little time to adapt to the 1down 5up sequence a few more kms and I will be fine.As for acceleration I remember the good old days of the RX100 it was an untamed beast and always rearing to go whereas PULSAR 200 NS is more sophisticated but in an turbo charged avtaar of the Rx100, need to ride one to feel the magic. Just waiting for the run in period to get over in training the monster so that its true prowess can be unleashed by trying to keep the temptations under control.
Braking : Providing with petal disc brakes in the front and rear the company is surely concerned for the adequate safety of the consumers and it does have a lot of bite in stoping the monster, especially when we will be enjoying the rides and some idiot will jaywalk into our path without caring for any safety.
