dude you shouldn't worry about topspeeds. one question where the hell would you ride at those speeds in bangaloreOriginally posted by Rohan200ns View Postthose are speedo indicated speeds ( not true speeds ) ..
i have read in every website that ns is limited to 138kmph ( true top speed ) .. speedo can show even 150+ same as p220dtsi ...
i have read in all major auto magazines that the true top speed of p220 is in mid 130s but still its speedo goes till 154kmph .. even rtr160 true top speed is 118kmph but its speedo goes all the way up to 136kmph ..
even bajaj have mentioned in their official website that the top speed of ns is 136kmph ..
. in my view topspeeds rating are just for brag rights :P. you wouldn't want to put your life on the line trying.
and its not good for your machine to rip it to its limits if you truly love it .

Phew saw the first pulsar 200 NS in Bhubaneswar today, and the fun part is it was parked against a Duke 200..Both are awesome machines(lookwise, since i havent ridden a NS yet)..
But my one cent..the Pulsar 200NS still looks like a PULSAR from the tail section
Its attractive but The Orangy Duke is too HOT !!!

gps speeds are very inaccurate partly because of the app and partly because there is no 4g yet .. 3g ping time is very late for accurate speed tests .. gps speeds tell u just the approximate speeds .. i have personally checked the top speed of my fz with pillion .. the speedo went all the way up to 137kmph ( i have a pic of that ) ,, the true top speed of fz is 112kmph ( single rider weighing 60kgs ) ,, gps speed was 126kmph .. the bike would be actually doing around 105kmph .. once i held the phone in my hand and ran to check the gps speed ,, it showed anything from 0-55kmph ...Originally posted by antz.bin View PostJust FYI, when a P220 does 154 on speedo, it is doing 143.5kmph on GPS (Personally checked). This value, clearly, is not in the mid 130s which most magazines claim. This fact has been verified multiple times that the P220 has a speedo error of 7.3%. Most magazines get the bikes for a couple of days max. There is a difference between a 'Long Term Review' and a 'Road Test' or 'First ride'. I hope you understand this.
While I have not personally checked what is the error on a P200NS speedo, I will not comment on the top end as yet. But as soon as we can conclusively get a result (by one of the owners comparing speedo reads with GPS reads) you can get your reasons.
i know that top speeds are almost never needed but what if you happen to go to NICE road on a non windy day ??Originally posted by harszeee View Postdude you shouldn't worry about topspeeds. one question where the hell would you ride at those speeds in bangalore

Finally, all I can say is, you, my friend, need a better GPS receiver (and a life too actually). The one I use is not a phone.Originally posted by Rohan200ns View Postgps speeds are very inaccurate partly because of the app and partly because there is no 4g yet .. 3g ping time is very late for accurate speed tests .. gps speeds tell u just the approximate speeds .. i have personally checked the top speed of my fz with pillion .. the speedo went all the way up to 137kmph ( i have a pic of that ) ,, the true top speed of fz is 112kmph ( single rider weighing 60kgs ) ,, gps speed was 126kmph .. the bike would be actually doing around 105kmph .. once i held the phone in my hand and ran to check the gps speed ,, it showed anything from 0-55kmph ...

Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

I wonder why Kolkata outlets haven't got display bike. Here, in Bhubaneswar the owner of a Bajaj showroom has got an NS by registering in his friend's name, all the way from Nasik just for display :OOriginally posted by chetan6686 View PostNope..Parked inside our parking lot..I mean office parking lot in our campus..

running in
hi guys this is my first post in xbhp!
well m a proud owner of 200 ns from 15 june and wanted to be active on this thread but my account wasnt activated till today.
i have a big query. as a mere mortal i was unaware of proprer running in techniques. so till 280 kms i didnt exceeded her beyond 3.5k rmp. then for the next 40 -50 kms i rode it according to the manual(speed limits 10,18,24,32,40,48).
but then thanks to xbhp i came to know about motoman's method. so i revved her till 7.5 k rmp every few times till first service.
now while giving my baby to svc for first service i stated it clearly that i want a mineral oil. the svc guy assured me that bajaj 10000 dtsi oil is the best oil u can give ur machine. later on i cam to know it's a ss oil(correct me if i am wrong). my bike has clocked 750 kms. MOTOMAN says 80% of break in takes place within first 20 miles. so what i wanna ask is-
DID I DAMAGE MY BIKE? IF YES BY HOW MUCH? CAN IT BE UNDONE ?

Don't worry, unless you feel/hear the engine sounding sick then nothing bad has happened, however I do recommend you to use mineral oil at least for the first 1500 miles (2400 kms) before using a fully synthetic oil, so, if the service centre refuses to do it you can do it yourself of course and beware as many people will tell you to blindly follow the instructions in the owners manual concerning the oil and the break in but if you have read the motoman break in secrets then you already know what is all about.Originally posted by jayjoshi001 View Posthi guys this is my first post in xbhp!

I for one did it the motoman way since I got it (P220) from the showroom almost 1 year ago and haven't had any engine, gearbox, clutch problem at all
Cheers, ride safe.
