    • it seems like the same niggles are present in both duke and ns .. i have confirmed from the owners that all are minor ones though ..
one thing is for sure that ktm ASS is miles ahead of bajaj ASS .. today i mailed ktm my querries and niggles regarding duke and then i got a call from ktm head office in just 3hrs..same mail was sent to bajaj but they dont seem to be bothered ..
one thing is confirmed that ktm will diagnose any niggle faced by the duker with minimum fuss and that too with vip treatment .. looking at how unprofessional the blokes at bajaj are ,, i dont think they will be able to support the ns owners .. cant blame bajaj cos ns is a mass market bike ..
one thing to worry about ns is that it is all mechanical and nobody can verify the 100% functioning of the engine and radiator ( mechanic can just check everything and tell that everything is fine without any proof ,, and we cant argue ) .. whereas an FI bike will run through a digital diagnostics test and even the minor niggle will not go unnoticed ..
it all depends on luck .. just pray to god that we get a 100% perfect bike ...

            • More than 5 million pulsars on roads..stats talk for them. Dont underestimate the company by looking in to past. When I bought my first pulsar in 2007, everyone told me to go for unicorn..bajaj is bad blah blah..I didnt care and I went with my hearts decision and then I realised that it was the right decision. In 2012, when I sold the bike, it was in perfect condition as ever. I just love pulsar!!

Bro, there is no 100% perfect bike in the world. Take any bike, you can find a issue.
Don't bother for NS, as no major issues reported. Only one NS (faffy's) is reported with continuous problem. Rest are minor issues like "when I take hand from handle bar, the bike lean to left"ish, Heating when ride in 1st and 2nd gear for a long time. As you are in Bangaluru, i think you have to face heating issue etc.... They are neglectable.

First of all let me tell you one thing.
When i got a problem with my NS ,me too received premium treatment from the dealer as well as bajaj people in pune
Duke is ktm's 1st bike, so they will have to provide premium service of the highest level to their customers otherwise they wont sell their new product on the "indian market" which is very steriotype.

Bajaj has well settled roots in india.Tell me one indian bike maker which has the upto date technology. And bajaj is aiming at a mass market.they are producing a premium bike with a price tag of under a lakh and making it available to the massess. Name one indian bike which stands close to NS at that exact same price tag.

So my advice is get a reality check based on facts. KTM is KTM and Bajaj is Bajaj. You just cant compare two totally different things.Differences will alwez b there

                        • i have one doubt ...
gearing of ns is said to be longer than duke so how come both bikes are having the same tops peeds at same rpms ?? ( both 136kmph limited at 10500rpm ) ..

i am just putting my thoughts here .. i dont mean to offend anyone ..seriously ...

And now what is the source of this info? Not offended or anything but can you not read?

If you do not know this (and I know you know) I wish to tell you that we have a 'Long Term Review' for the Pulsar 200NS. Read it. All of it. It clearly says the following

Max Speeds in each gear as indicated by the speedo
                            1st gear – 51
                            2nd gear – 71
                            3rd gear – 93
                            4th gear – 114
                            5th gear – 132
                            Top speed – 149
Edit: And about the launch being the worst launch ever, there are worse ways of launching a bike. That is when you launch a bike pan India but even basic and essential spares like oil filter are not available when the bikes come for 1st service. A particular competitor happened to launch a 25 bhp bike in India about a year back in this 'worse' manner. These basic spares weren't available for over 2 months.

Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

i have read in every website that ns is limited to 138kmph ( true top speed ) .. speedo can show even 150+ same as p220dtsi ...
i have read in all major auto magazines that the true top speed of p220 is in mid 130s but still its speedo goes till 154kmph .. even rtr160 true top speed is 118kmph but its speedo goes all the way up to 136kmph ..
even bajaj have mentioned in their official website that the top speed of ns is 136kmph ..

Just FYI, when a P220 does 154 on speedo, it is doing 143.5kmph on GPS (Personally checked). This value, clearly, is not in the mid 130s which most magazines claim. This fact has been verified multiple times that the P220 has a speedo error of 7.3%. Most magazines get the bikes for a couple of days max. There is a difference between a 'Long Term Review' and a 'Road Test' or 'First ride'. I hope you understand this.

While I have not personally checked what is the error on a P200NS speedo, I will not comment on the top end as yet. But as soon as we can conclusively get a result (by one of the owners comparing speedo reads with GPS reads) you can get your reasons.
