Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
It looks like it's a misprint on the new batches. The showroom actually overwrote the 240 with 120 in my owner's manual. Maybe someone with a booklet from the old batch could clarify.Originally posted by priyank.shishodia View Post
Yep, they are guaranteed to give you the thrills as well as the spills if you are not careful.Originally posted by Rex2688 View Post

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
140/60-R17, the one found stock on yamaha fz/fazer will give you a lower height than the eurogrip. So you'll have better acceleration and lesser top speed. Expect your engine to be slightly stressed out on highways since rpm per speed will be more. For example, 7k rpm 6th gear might equate to 99 km/h instead of 103 (wild guess, but this effect will be seen for sure). I'm not too sure of any gains while cornering but many FZ users rate the tyre down when it comes to grip. I still say, STICK TO STOCK unless all you want are looks.Originally posted by prasanth_v85 View PostWat abt 140/60 R17 tyres?...I've read in a magazine that it's the best option to the stock 130/70 R17 considering it's low profile...they said it won't affect the performance much when upgraded...Is this true ???
Edit: If a tyre has the rating X / Y - (R)Z, height is calculated as (Y * X)/100 in mm. Lower height than stock always translates to better acceleration and lower top speed; increased height means vice versa. The R, if mentioned, stands for 'radial tyre' specification. The Z stands for diameter of the rim in inches. AFAIK the bikes we see in India come with 17 inch wheels except the royal enfields which come with 18 inchers. This gives our bikes a brickload of tyre options.Last edited by Aditya N Bharadwaj; 03-15-2014, 10:09 PM.Sarcasm is my automatic response to stupidity.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
near-death experience lol +1 to that :POriginally posted by Rex2688 View Postthose tyres look meaty. i m still on stock euroslips, good enough for me, also they provide you near-death experience now & then which is thrilling. lol . Congrats too
according to what i have experienced on stock eurogrips is that in short runs the tyers dont have grip at all but on long trips that tyres have preformed well ..
i think stock tyres need a bit of time to warm up attain better grip levels (in my opinion ...correct me if i am wrong..)sigpic
Who needs a stereo when you've got a throttle ? :p

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
guess it's a printing mistake..like Maraque said, it might be 120 days for 2nd service and 240 days for 3rd service....Originally posted by priyank.shishodia View Post
see in both second and third service, the time is same from the date of purchase so this doubts me.

have been thinking about upgrading the tyre size and then remove the rear hugger, just for the look of the bike and have a friend who changed to 140/70 which looks great on NS...one thing he said is that, after upgrading, he began to feel the weight of the tyre on rear, just bcoz of the meatier size of it...but it's negligible when compared to the grip it gave while riding...still a bit confused abt all this, but won't be upgrading for another 2-3 months...so got plenty of time to decide...any suggestions are welcome...Originally posted by Aditya N Bharadwaj View Post140/60-R17, the one found stock on yamaha fz/fazer will give you a lower height than the eurogrip. Excuse the distorted perspective, these were taken with my cellphone camera. Have to use the phone instead of the DSLR because my laptop is on fiancee duty in Chennai due to hers having spontaneously combust due to a wrong adapter.

Yes you can, but be easy on the throttle and dont push her hard. Make sure to warm the bike up nicely say ride for 20 mins before you do this.Originally posted by grkgopi View PostIs it OK if I test my bikes top speed... I just got my bike from first service...

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
People say run in and all those things.... many people wait for their run in kms to get over which takes about 2 to 3 months depending on their frequency of riding. Many senior members didn't follow run in and have no issues. I didn't follow that and have no problem . I had about 200 kms when I took my bike to 110 and the max I have been is at 126 due to restriction of clear roads . Actually I would suggest this is the best time to try your top speed as your bike is well oiled up right now.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
At your second servicing don't get the oil changed. ..do it from a local mechanic...take your own oil motul 7100 20w50 1.275 litres approx is needed and a oring and an oil filter. The mechanic may buy the old oil from you and charge 10 - 50rs .

I wouldn't know about the drop in performance, have had the bike for less than a week. Still running in the engine.Originally posted by prasanth_v85 View Post

Still getting to grips with the different characteristics of this bike and the CBR250 I used previously.
But it sure does make an already tall bike taller still.

Stupid phone. Meant to edit the previous post.Originally posted by maraque View PostI wouldn't know about the drop in performance, have had the bike for less than a week. Still running in the engine.
All I can say is, I don't feel a lack of performance right now.

So a taller ns is even better for me....i was initially inclined towards mrf revz for front and back but after hearing alot of complaints for mrfs quality (not performance)...i m more towards michelins....

But even I'm finding the NS's seating accommodations a little cramped after the CBR.
