Well I believe that if you have a 2013 model then there is a catch while selling as depreciation is calculated by the buyer according to the model year and even if you buy on 20th December 2013 or will accumulate while year depreciation. That's why in December and November vehicles are sold cheaper. And as for your doubt , I think it will be a March 2014 model as 200ns is fast moving. Is tiurs dual tone ? The single tone models might be 2013 ones which only a few are left , but the rto guys usually write the month and year it's being registered in and not the actual product mfd date so no need to worry. Btw Congo !!

It's the plain black version. I just hope I won't be missing out on any new features that the 2014 models have which the 2013 models didn't.

Btw, thanks.

There is nothing new. It's just the colour scheme.

For oil changes, let me make this clear, the majority of the run in happens in the first 200 odd kms of running. Our laser cut bores and pistons do not need extremely careful run-in. Motul 7100 may be used from as early as 2k kms. Even if the bike is ripped hard right off the showroom, rest assured, nothing happens. We have a bloody strong engine in there. Some people have used 7100 right after first service.

Everything was amazing: acceleration, top speed, mileage(city conditions 33kmpl, Sane Hihgway riding 42kmpl) etc. He gave his bike for 1st service and there the mechanic told the carb screw setting was on the richer side and said that he fixed that thing. He also mentioned that the spark plug gaps were faulty and fixed them.
Then trouble started, now occurs a flatspot between 3k~4k RPM, After reaching 77kmph the bike feels like it gasps for fuel until 86kmph, the acceleration is decreased, now 200NS feels like a 150cc bike in perfect condition. we tried to adjust the tuning several times, but the tuning doesn't stay there. after 1 or 2 days the tuning again is going bad. After 2nd service from a different service center in Hyderabad & tuning done with CO readings, the bike felt good for 100kms only then the same problems repeated. He is really frustated.

SO if everything is fine with your bike like acceleration etc, don't let them play with carburetor.

Can anyone give a solution to this problem?
Flat spots at 3-4k rpm occur if:
1. The engine is running very lean.
2. The carburetor diaphragm has gone faulty (probably because of low quality fuel).

While doing anything related to the carburetor, make sure your bike is with an experienced mechanic.

How do you define smoothness? If you expect Unicorn kind of feel then I'm sorry.
You ride between 50-70 kmph in which gear? What RPMs you shift at?

I can assure you most of the guys here don't have any problems with the bike, not after 100,1k or 10k kms.

Do you mean to say engine Or Bike vibrations!? Are you sure its the engine and not the loose parts that caused the vibes. In my case there was this headlight upper cover which was the convict

Hi Guys,
For almost 20k, i have persisted with Bajaj Oil, but now I am thinking of migrating to Motul or castrol Synthetic oils.
Please help me with this and suggest the best engine oil according to you for NS.
I have read people mentioning Motul 7100, but because this is the first time I'll using any other oil, I'd love to have the full details of the oil to be purchased.
this is because i dont understand the meaning of the letters at the end of the name of oil.
Which particular product in motul 7100 range is to be used in NS is my question in nutshell.
Regards,

wt was the cost of this setup ???
i saw the same end canister or muffler in bangalore for 2.5k..which has two setups...but one will need a good tinker to make the rest of this setup...and how much does the porting costs???can we itself do it using an 2000 emery or ?????

Seeing a lot of engine oil questions, recently, so I'm gonna put down my 2 cents, in accordance to what I did and am doing with my 1.5 year old 200 NS in accordance with engine oils. First 500 kms I used the bajaj oil only. First servicing I asked the service centre guys not to change the engine oil, and got the engine oil changed from outside at a local mechanic to the motul 3100, though if you have good relations with the bajaj service centre guys you can give them a bottle of motul oil purcahsed from outside and the'll happily use that instead of the bajaj engine oil, that's what I did during my second servicing, during which I still used 3100. After around 7-8k kms I switched to motul 5100. The engine has been really smooth all the time and no problems as of yet.
I would rather be riding my bike thinking of God, than sitting in the temple thinking of my bike.

Yes the spark plug is whitish.

Why immediately after first service? What might had happened at the service station?

What about hesitation between 77kmph and 86kmph?

While doing anything related to the carburetor, make sure your bike is with an experienced mechanic.
That is the problem in our area. There are less than 15 NS's in our place and no mechanic is familiar with it.
Why is the carb tuning not staying intact where it was set?

We are using Mobil Delvac 1300 super for the past 5000kms(yeah we know the recommended grade is 20w50). Anybody tried Diesel oils in NS?

Same here buddy, used dtsi at first service, it gave up in 700kms, 2000kms, changed to 3100 gold 20w50 ,I don't know exactly but have done around more than 1600kms which includes NON STOP 200KM WITH 100KMPH + MIN SPEEDS ,( did 200kms in 2hrs and 30 min)
CANT even point out one clue that says oil has started to go bad. Still going like New.
Never back to dtsi, NEVER

remember these points AFAIK.
1. use 20w50 in summer and 15w50 in winter if you can.
2. Use only Motul 5100 15w50 .
I will vouch for using mineral oil as in their case, you can drain earlier and thereby have a kickass engine all the way. Use fs ONLU if you can't afford spending 700bucks (5100) or 420 bucks (3100 gold) in every 3k km interval.
Since its summer start and you're going to be new to motul
I will suggest 3100 gold 20w50 ,costs 350₹ per litre, and IS BANG FOR MONEY. also being 20w50 ,Will help in summers. You can also go with 5100 15w50 but I've ridden bikes with both oil and it didn't felt like different (expect in winters)
