Its just character of bike and won't do any harm unless you redline bike for long duration .

Hey guys I just got motul 7100 4T 20w50 100% Synthetic Ester . The mrp on the oil box is Inr 805 for 1 lt. I bought 2 boxes because although motul oil advisor suggests 1lt many members say the engine requires 1.2-1.4 lt. It has got lt markings so that's helpful .bought the oil from a local garage and oil filter and o-ring (it doesn't come in official pack as you have to purchase 5 or 10 for package . They give you loose out of the packet for 1 or 2 so it's original) from bajaj spares which is inside an svc . Attaching picture for reference.

Check idle rpm it should be 1.3 to 1.5 . If that's correct then it's a problem with your riding style don't accelerate too much. Shift gears a bit early than whay you at4 doing now. Approx shift between 3.7k to 4.5k rpm always for better mileage and engine durability.... and remember when continuous slope region then shift 4.5 to 4.7 coz the rpm drops quickly as soon as you press the clutch. I hope this helps.

http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/do-yours...sar-200ns.html Here's the DIY, but if I had to do this, I'd solder new SMD LEDs to the board directly and use DA converter as different color of LEDs need different voltage. AFAIK red needs the lowest, around 1.75 volts and white needs the highest, around 2.35 volts.
I am back!

Get engine oil changed . Book the first appointment of the day and have breakfast and go and supervise the complete servicing . they might give reasons like they will start work on your bike late , but wait however long it takes . Engine oil from the svc comes in barrels so if u have 1000 to spare then refuse oil change and get oil changed from outside mechanic to motul 7100 20w50 when u complete 500-750 kms .

I think Bajaj is the biggest fool when it comes to the engine refinement of NS. Numerous Posts and members here have mentioned the vast improvement in refinement when changing to motul. What i don't understand is why Bajaj recommends such an oil which gives people a reason to criticize NS?
The dtsi 10000 might be good for economy friendly discover range, but they should understand that when they created NS, they created it in a different league. So why they can't recommend a better oil which is just 100-150 rs more than theirs. Why they are letting the NS name down? And what would be really funny to see if they recommend same oil fir the 400 ss and cs

My friend bought 200NS and we completed 200kms in one go changed the oil, filter and added another 480kms in a single day. Everything was amazing: acceleration, top speed, mileage(city conditions 33kmpl, Sane Hihgway riding 42kmpl) etc. He gave his bike for 1st service and there the mechanic told the carb screw setting was on the richer side and said that he fixed that thing. He also mentioned that the spark plug gaps were faulty and fixed them.
Then trouble started, now occurs a flatspot between 3k~4k RPM, After reaching 77kmph the bike feels like it gasps for fuel until 86kmph, the acceleration is decreased, now 200NS feels like a 150cc bike in perfect condition. we tried to adjust the tuning several times, but the tuning doesn't stay there. after 1 or 2 days the tuning again is going bad. After 2nd service from a different service center in Hyderabad & tuning done with CO readings, the bike felt good for 100kms only then the same problems repeated. He is really frustated.

SO if everything is fine with your bike like acceleration etc, don't let them play with carburetor.

Can anyone give a solution to this problem?

Thanks for the info guys and pratiksgole. Is'nt motul 7100 20w50 too early for a bike done just mere 700 kms ? The oil is fully synthetic and AFAIK upto 2k kms or run in period mineral oil is the best a bike should have?
By the way I wont let the mechanic even touch the carb. Let it be in the factory settings. And by time looking at the spark plug colour will come to know if the AFR is rich or poorly set. Any ways thanks

You're wrong, bajaj dtsi costs 473₹ for 1.2 litres
Motul 3100 gold costs 420₹ for 1.2 litres. And even 3100 makes engine harshness, vibes disappear.

I don't think it would matter ... thats what the oil filter is for :P get that changed too , motun 7100 20w50 is costlier than other motul its 800 per 1 litre in my city . Go for motul technosynthetic if you want its mineral plus synthetic 5100 4T 15w50 . See the thing is after this oil change the next one would be after a long while, so better change it to a good one now . And yeah don't get motul from bajaj svc as they dont sell in bottles and say that the oil which they get in huge barrels is of 2 types motul and bajaj , but don't trust them . It's upto you . I don't even think the SVC changed my oil which is mandatory for first service because i didnt observe it and had just 100 kms on the odometer . I brought motul today will change it tomorrow.

Hi all,
First of all let me just say that this thread has helped me a lot when it comes to info about the 200NS, which is really appreciated, so thanks you all for sharing them.

My NS is due for delivery anytime this week (my first bike, ever) and I was just wondering (and this may sound like a very silly question), but will my NS be a 2013 or a 2014 model? Are there any asthetic/cosmetic/technical changes between the '14 and '13 models?
