Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
2014 manufactured NS got dual tone colour option with rubber tank guard.2nd tyre hugger is a bit long without pulsar print on it (seems nice) and more helful than the old one in muddy road. And i don't but when i compare the exhaust sound, sound seems much smoother than the previous NS and as far as i know previous NS seems to get more problem than the present one or maybe people stop complaining about it.Originally posted by floccy View PostPut The Pedal To The Metal

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
So the rear disc of my 200ns is making screech-scratch brake sound while riding or while slowing down. I understand the disc is probably not aligned properly, as it gets warm even though not being used. My question is, can i wait till the first service to get it fixed? Service centre isn't close to home, will letting it run like this damage my disc brake in any way? I got another 250 kms to go before my first service arrives.

Chill out dude.Since you just recently got your NS everything is new so it takes time for adjustment.I face the same problem, went to SVC 4 times, nothing happens and slowly everything start to disappear on its own.But for your satisfaction you can align the rear section and if its still presist than you can clean disc pad with sand paper and try it in disc plate too cuz it can be because of dust also and also check the rear brake pedal.Originally posted by pulak.bhatnagar View PostSo the rear disc of my 200ns is making screech-scratch brake sound while riding or while slowing down. Thanks for sharing your experience and suggestions on cleaning the plate! I can patiently wait till first service, just needed to know if it's a damage-worthy problem or not.Originally posted by Tanzing Sherpa View PostChill out dude.Since you just recently got your NS everything is new so it takes time for adjustment.I face the same problem, went to SVC 4 times, nothing happens and slowly everything start to disappear on its own.But for your satisfaction you can align the rear section and if its still presist than you can clean disc pad with sand paper and try it in disc plate too cuz it can be because of dust also and also check the rear brake pedal.

C'mon man chill out. It happened because you or mechanic tightened the screw way too much.Originally posted by abilan View PostMy bike oil filter cap screw broke..half screw is inside..i dont know what to do..pls help me guys..

First remove the other screw, have a tub, plastic jug etc below it So that out coming engine oil can be collected In it. As you'll remove the other screw, you'll 99% find that remaining threaded portion lying there.
Or else you need to take out oil filter, in this process, you'll surely find the remaining part. Dont worry.
just handle the out coming oil properly
Side note, - I thought your engine oil refilling black cap was broken, that SHOULD'VE BEEN DISASTROUS.

Motul 7100 20w50. It's 1 liter. You need 1.2 literOriginally posted by rishabh153 View PostHi Guys,
For almost 20k, i have persisted with Bajaj Oil, but now I am thinking of migrating to Motul or castrol Synthetic oils.
Please help me with this and suggest the best engine oil according to you for NS.
I have read people mentioning Motul 7100, but because this is the first time I'll using any other oil, I'd love to have the full details of the oil to be purchased.
this is because i dont understand the meaning of the letters at the end of the name of oil.
Which particular product in motul 7100 range is to be used in NS is my question in nutshell.
Regards,
Rishabh

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Yeah so I am back home now. Completed my first servicing at 740 KMS. The bike was serviced and checked in 1.5 hrs. Rubber gromets on the visor reduced the sound and I get no vibrations now.
Ripped the bike till 60 kmph. Shortbursts till 70 kmph. And asked the mechanic to check the screech scratch sound coming from the front disks. He opened it adjusted it and rubbed sand paper on the disc pads. The sound was gone. But after I rode the bike home the sound again came at 40 kmph . I hit the brakes and the sound goes away and come backs the moment I let go off the brake lever. Again the sound had gone and came up at 50 kmph. What may be the problem guys? Help needed.
Total cost of servicing
1. Bajaj 20w50 Engine oil: Rs 450 for 1.2 lts
2. Fitted main stand :Rs 540
3. Rest oil filter etc :Forgot the cost
Total:Rs. 1069
Engine is now butter smooth. Planning to use this engine oil for more 500 kms. After that will use shell or motul.
But the disc pad screech scratch sound is killing me. Help me guys.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Everybody has the problem with the screeching noise, from my experience they service centre guys have no knowledge what so ever as to what is to be done for this, so all they do is remove the brake pads and sandpaper them and fit new ones(which I don't recommend at all because then the brakes loose their factory setting and leads to lesser bite in the brakes, that's what I faced) So just ignore the problem if it's not too persistent.Originally posted by pulak.bhatnagar View PostSo the rear disc of my 200ns is making screech-scratch brake sound while riding or while slowing down. Thanks for the input cleaner!!Originally posted by Cleaner View Posthttp://www.xbhp.com/talkies/do-yours...sar-200ns.html Here's the DIY, but if I had to do this, I'd solder new SMD LEDs to the board directly and use DA converter as different color of LEDs need different voltage. AFAIK red needs the lowest, around 1.75 volts and white needs the highest, around 2.35 volts.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Brake not centered properly I think, common in new NS, once the pads wear out a bit it vanishes as there is more tolerance now. Do brake centering and it should vanish instantly.Originally posted by Horror View PostEverybody has the problem with the screeching noise, from my experience they service centre guys have no knowledge what so ever as to what is to be done for this, so all they do is remove the brake pads and sandpaper them and fit new ones(which I don't recommend at all because then the brakes loose their factory setting and leads to lesser bite in the brakes, that's what I faced) So just ignore the problem if it's not too persistent.I am back!

LOL you need to take a ride on my buzz massage machine. You'll fall in love with your bike.Originally posted by abilan View PostI was using bajaj oil til 4000kms..but felt like engine is not smooth..so changed from bajaj to motul 300v..done 200kms..but my bike is stil not smooth.i ride in speeds like 50 to 70 kmph..no redlining..what is the problem with my bike?
Forget the vibrations and enjoy the power delivery.
The whole job costed my friend 6k. I have no idea of the separate costs. You may find the total price a bit less if you go for a powder coated bend pipe instead of chrome.Originally posted by Karthi.N View Postwt was the cost of this setup ???
i saw the same end canister or muffler in bangalore for 2.5k..which has two setups...but one will need a good tinker to make the rest of this setup...and how much does the porting costs???can we itself do it using an 2000 emery or ?????
Low acceleration, flat spots, whitish plugs are the tell-tales of a lean-running bike. Go back to the same mechanic like I said and ask him to retune the AFR screw.Originally posted by sandeepcf View PostWhy is the carb tuning not staying intact where it was set?
We are using Mobil Delvac 1300 super for the past 5000kms(yeah we know the recommended grade is 20w50). Anybody tried Diesel oils in NS?
Shell rimula is good to be used in Karizma / R. Not sure of NS. But in my opinion, stay away from car oils. There are many reasons why there are different oils for cars, bikes, planes, ships and what not. One of them is that car engines normally idle at < 500 rpm and rev upto a max of 6k rpm and their respective oils are designed to work in that range. Our bikes, as you know are designed to idle at 2500-3000 rpm with choke on, 1500 rpm otherwise and rev upto 10,800 rpm & stay anywhere near 9000 rpm while cruising for long distances. This kind of abuse takes a big toll on the engine oil and the quality of an oil is determined by its ability to lubricate all moving parts even in these extreme conditions. Saving a few hundred bucks by using car oil now may mean shelling out thousands later for engine replacement.Last edited by Aditya N Bharadwaj; 03-11-2014, 04:00 PM.Sarcasm is my automatic response to stupidity.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
No new features on the new ones. If u get the single tone black colour you have a possibility that it would be a 2014 produced bike. Just check if you get the tank guard. If u get it then its the new 2014 stock. You also check the vehicle pollution sticker. There the date of manufacturing is written. Mine has written on it. Even engine, radiator fan , etc have stickers of date of manufacturing. You can clearly make out which year the bike belongs to.Originally posted by floccy View PostIt's the plain black version. I just hope I won't be missing out on any new features that the 2014 models have which the 2013 models didn't.
Btw, thanks.

I'm thinking i'll just let the pads wear out a little, if the screeching doesn't go away in the next 150-200 kms, will get it centered.Originally posted by Cleaner View PostBrake not centered properly I think, common in new NS, once the pads wear out a bit it vanishes as there is more tolerance now. BTW, I tried searching through high altitude related posts in this thread, couldn't find much information on a specific question. Will the stock 200ns be able to scale heights of Leh without any jetting adjustments? I do understand that as the air gets thinner up higher, the fuel will have to be made leaner (with the fuel screw) to match the air intake. But is jetting absolutely necessary or can our beloved stock 200ns climb the heights comfortably? Many thanks in advance.
