Is my current setting the second softest or the second hardest..i read somewhere in the thread that by default from the factor it comes in the second softest position

yesterday riding on little rough road made me feel the suspension is a bit hard but if this is the econd softest i wonder what will be the hardest..

is it possible to change the setting by hand or some special tool is required?

probably you shud change your riding habbit...ripping= mileage below 35

shift at about 4K rpm and u shud get about 40 and restrict top speed to whatever speed u get in 6th gear at 4-5 K rpm for mileage

It is on the second Softest setting. And yes, one needs a Spl tool to change the setting.]

All - My Destiny is suffering from vibrations, and Really bad ones post 6K range. Met with @Rahul Barik today evening, and he too confirmed that the bike is having extra vibrations. Where-as his bike is running comparatively much smoother even after 7K!!!!

what did you get in terms of accessories? Did you opt for the main stand & bike cover?

how did you manage to get the second plate bent again? did u hit the bike somewhere or someone hit the discs?
is it just a co incidence that you got 2 faulty plates or are all the manufactured p200ns plates really very weak that they get bent?

how many other memebrs have tried the method of using a small tipped pen or sumthing to check the bent disc?

my bike is just 50km old right now so its too early to say bt my disc makes no noise at all...

its a naked bike.....it wont be so stable at such high speeds

but in the xbhp review they have ridden the NS extensively and ripped it often and didnt find any such stability issues

Did you bargain for the middle stand & bike cover as part of the free accessories?

not any freebies mate...the price is included.. They made the same attempt to fool me also but i just blasted them and they deducted 800 bucks... @shibadip: thats too much vibrations which i noticed...handle and hands both start to vibrate... Even the footpegs vibrate a lot on your bike... One funny incident on the ns is, the perimeter does not have a single hint of vibration at any given rpm...but the tank and panels which are bolted on thd frame vibrates...its buzzy rather... I mean how? If the frame doesnot vibrate, then how cud the panels vibrate..still dont have the ans... PSR ji need you analysis on this... @jenimu_kanna007: change your riding style...and tune you bike a bit lean if you want mileage... @albyjose: i just wish i could make you read the first original r15 ownership thread which got deleted when xbhp server crashed back on 2008...you would have probably got your answer then... This 200ns is one hell of a bike and has one gem of an engine...trust me...what you get at that price is unbeatable... @myth: no man, forget oil filter, not a single spare is there... @mayank.trivadi: i didnt hit anything...the disc gets bent by itself only... Its a design flaw or maybe a manufacturing defect... If you look closely, u'll notice that the disc linkages are almost on the wheel hub which basically means that the disc is totally floating without any support... If those linkages were a bit farther from the wheel hub and close to the actual area of contact with the caliper, then the disc would have been much stronger... Its flexing under hard braking...its a big design flaw and quality issue...either change the design or make the disc stronger... Duke has the same design and same style on the disc but its upside down...such a small design change can do wonders....thats why the duke dont have this problem... Not only my bike, each and every day i visit the svc and find atleast 1 ns with bent disc...and only this particular svc is changing it under warranty for everyone...all other svc are either blaming the customer that he might have hit something or telling that its normal and wont be changed under warranty and you will have to buy a new disc...cost is rs1208... Btw dont trust reviews much...you will get to know why i told this...hit a bad road or bump at high speed and you'll get the ans... feel it yourself bro... Its pathetic on bad roads...in this respect earlier pulsars are better... Even the pulsar 180 ug4 have better highspeed stability. Much better. Feels planted... I changed my ns tires and now its a bit better..

Hey buddy.. on small help .. could you please hit ENTER twice in between your posts so as to the break down .. Its better to read that way.. else its just too much of text and one might loose interest or get a headache while reading .. No offense just a request..

Also, I totally agree on the last bit.. I owned a Pulsar 180 UG IV before buying the NS.. had ridden 43k kms on the 180 and the high speed stability was much much better than the NS..
When there is moderate cross winds the NS shook like crazy on my last ride.. On reason could be that (for a fact) the NS has lighter front when compared to the earlier Pulsars but still it did not inspire confident to ride faster.. I was doing around 80kmph and there was good enough cross winds..
Also, changing tires might change this I guess.. Which tyres have you changed to??

Hey people, initially when i was deciding on upgrading my ride and was following this exhaustive ownership thread to decide on the bike, all i could read about were people waxing eloquent about the NS including the first owners and other waiting for the NS to be launced in their cities. But now, after couple of months, all i am reading about especially from the last 20 odd pages are nothing but problems. Now, I have booked a Yellow NS on Saturday 27th, after much deliberation over the KTM, but these comments are giving me the jeepers.....

Should i cancel my booking and go for the KTM? Also, please note that ma wife would be riding on the NS most of the times with me and she thought that the pillion seat on the NS was bit too high for her compared to the KTM. Any views on this point also, fellow NS owners?

                      Cheers.

The Vibes in any bike , other than the accepted levels of the design, comes from the following..
                          1. The chain and sprocket...If the lubrication is poor, uneven ,and or the chain tightness is wrong severe vibes will be felt.
                          2. If the AFR is lean also the vibes will be more.
                          3. If the engine mounting bolts are not tight .
                          4. The Spark plug gap is more than recommended.
                          5. Poor quality /grade of Engine Oil.
The Perimeter frame in the P200NS is supposed to be very firm ,and so will not vibrate ,but the sub frame/assemblies are not equally firm and hence vibrate.
The Brake Disc getting frequently bent is an issue which Bajaj must correct..It seems to be made of inferior quality material ,which due to the heating and cooling cycle bends. Please do take it up with the manufacturer by sending in a report through e-mail,and I am sure Bajaj will respond.....seems like a particular batch facing this problem.
When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

Small niggles persist. But that is not a big deal I guess. And KTm ofcourse is more reliable than NS and as for the pillion seat, even though it is placed a bit high in ns, it is much comfortable than the duke..

#1: The KTM does not have pillion friendly seat.. It is very uncomfy for the pillion for long or even city rides.. Else the KTM is a hooligan..
and yes the NS and KTM both have a higher pillion seat when compared to other bikes.. But when it comes the duke, if the rider is carrying a backpack then its very difficult for the pillion to sit..

#2: I for one am not facing any issues or problems (engine related, disc plate related, disc pad related, vibes related) till now (fingers crossed) .. done 1000 kms on my bike.. Since this bike is lighter than the older versions does shake during slight cross winds while riding at high speeds for me.. Need to get used to it

#3: Something that I've noticed amongst my friends bikes (200NS): If the run-in is done only/mostly in city then the bike engine sound is rough and not at all smooth .. noticed this is 3 bikes which was ridden only in city during run in.. Now when the same machine was ridden on highways during run-in period (by varying speeds and varying RPM range smoothly and effectively), the engine sounds much much smoother and quiet; this I've noticed in 2 bikes including mine..

You haven't changed your engine oil not even once???.. OMG... Don't tell me you have ridden 1800 km with stock oil.. If you have please change oil ASAP..

I've used MOTUL & Valvoline and both are good, Motul being better.. no idea about the other oils.. Recommend you to move to FS only after 5k or 6k Kms.. till then you can either use Motul 3100 gold 20W50 or 15w50, Motul 3000 or Motul 5100 15W50 Semi-Synt oil..
You should get the engine oil filter replaced as well..

If the buzzing like sound comes while applying front brake only, then it may be due to the new disc mating with the pads, and holes in disc cutting across the brake pad surface..To confirm observe the sound at lower speed, or when the bike slows down with braking...the buzzing sound will also reduce in frequency and level as the Speed comes down.
