I asked my SVC the particular tools needed to "undress" my bike and bought them.Hardly took Rs.200.

Lehhhh... Abhi jish service centre par jake service karbaun ga, usi service centre ka Manager ko pakrunga, in acse of any issue!!

Jokes apart, I am waiting for my Exams to get over in the Month of Nov, and then Will Take my bike on the highways. Rahul and Some other seniors also suggested me to run the bike in higher RPMs for the time being.. That will smooth the engine out.. Hoping for the best.

Also, I will Take my bike to the SVC once the spares gets available. Will then Ask the SVC guy to open up the whole thing, and watch it closely. After that I might buy those required tools.
However 200/- bucks for all those tools seems to be quite cheap!!!

Mine is not a service centre FYI...it is rather a help centre.

You can buy an LED that would cost you around 60/70/100 bucks.. but the prob with low cost/low quality LEDs is that they won't last and has not guaranty..
Now since you don't want extra bright stuff you can get same bulb as stock but white one (ones that emit white light).. That should server the purpose.. And normal bulbs will definitely last longer than a normal LED

i cant find any white bulb of similar intensity!!so had to go into white led, got one at 20rs. but its too low in intensity that its useless..

This is very much possible , because I have completed 1600 kms so far mostly in the city only & now I'm having vibration issues and the engine sounds rough sometimes.Especially in early morning. Also the bike feels a little under-powered early morning.

                  5. Poor quality /grade of Engine Oil.
I guess it could be a lean AFR on my NS which is responsible for the vibrations I'm having. As I'm getting a fuel efficiency of 45 kmpl as of now & the bike doesn't seem that powerful at all , it has become rather boring. Post 80 kmph mark the vibrations are very much apparent & engine seems to be begging for a 7th gear !!!

Also , twisting the AFR screw anti-clockwise makes the AF mixture rich right ?

Its better to read that way.. else its just too much of text and one might loose interest or get a headache while reading .. No offense just a request.. Also, I totally agree on the last bit.. I owned a Pulsar 180 UG IV before buying the NS.. had ridden 43k kms on the 180 and the high speed stability was much much better than the NS.. When there is moderate cross winds the NS shook like crazy on my last ride.. On reason could be that (for a fact) the NS has lighter front when compared to the earlier Pulsars but still it did not inspire confident to ride faster.. I was doing around 80kmph and there was good enough cross winds.. Also, changing tires might change this I guess.. Which tyres have you changed to??
i do press enter on my phone while typing but the new xbhp mobile interface is not accepting it...dont know why.... And i know ns is a naked bike and high speed stability will be poor but its too poor... Frankly speaking fz has better stability.. And ns has a tendency to jump even on the slightest ups and downs on the road... The bike have less low-end torque and when we go to the powerband at 7k, it gets unstable....crap...! Best place to keep the engine is around 5k... @shibadip: spares have arrived at topsia osl.. They are charging 350 bucks for oil filter from some people....i just want them to try the same thing with me so that i can screw them then and there... Btw i made my afr bit richer...will make it more rich tomorrow... Btw today saw satyajit da's pilot lamps on his zmr at the k-bikers meet... Trust me boss, its a mini headlight...never in my life saw this kind of intensity from pilot lamps..it lit up the entire stairs... @psr ji: actually my bike dont vibrate but still the perimeter frame is so silent and the panels buzz... Will putting sponge between the tank lessen it? Btw that disc issue should be rectified ASAP. Its a serious issue... Maybe the lot delivered to kolkata have this problem. Many bikes are having the problem....

thats true.... Another friend of mine is also having rough engine and he runs totally in city and rips it like me only whereas my run-in and riding is 90% on highways with even more ripping and engine is butter smooth...but with tappet and timing chain noise... Even shibadip who is doing mostly city is having the same issue

                    • I went to the ASC here today, and asked if the engine oil change would be performed with my preferred brand oil, they said that they will do the same by noting down the brand and specification of the oil, but I will have to buy the oil myself and take it to the ASC. So, everyone who dont want the dtsi oil, can discuss the same with the service manager.

he had quoted 98.3K to me..i asked this is a bit costly...and a month back the price was 98.1K why did u increase 200 rupees? he told okay u give 98.1K and i asked what accesroies..he was offering a crappy helmet but i told him on the phone i asked you that time u said you'd give me a good vega helmet...so he offered me a vega helme a garrage cover which at maz would cost 300 rupees and a bicycle lock which he called helmet lock that must be max 50-75 rupees not more...

get a mainstand if possible...the side stand isnt so confidence inspiring..

some issues arent problems at all....there are some memebrs with specific issues like a disk getting bent again and again but personally i have never seen or heard anyone's NS getting a disk bent...may be a batch produced was faulty and by coincidence he spare disk changed under warranty also was from the same faulty batch..

even KTM owners faced many problems like coolant overflowing and paint peeling off and what not....so id say the NS and duke are equal in terms of quality and reliability...KTM might be a wee bit more but the NS quality is definetly better than earlier pulsars

if you can afford the KTM theres nothign better than that...rememebr KTM and duke are two different types of bikes and just share the same engine bore...nothing else is same...

i rode with my mother as pillion and she too complained the seat is high but she found the seat very comfortable(more comfortable than my activa) and was happy she could see the road ahead unlike when she sat pillon behind me on my activa

some issues are just minor niggles and not issues at all..."dimag ka vehem" even i felt there are issues but there actually isnt...today while riding back home a guy from an auto ricksha started shouting something pointing at the headlight or front forks and i wonder what hapened and i was tensed the whole ride back home and when i got down and saw there was nothing...

also refrain from any tuning of carb if u are inexperienced and even if u are experienced just let the settings remain stock and get minor issues rectified in 1st service...the bike works like a charm....handles great...and remember..naked bikes are not good for high speed riding...so you are bound to get uncomfortable..the NS is one of the best STREET machine and second only to duke200....
                        Thanks Mayank for your advice.

Small niggles persist. But that is not a big deal I guess. And KTm ofcourse is more reliable than NS and as for the pillion seat, even though it is placed a bit high in ns, it is much comfortable than the duke..
                        Thanks Arun for your advice.

and yes the NS and KTM both have a higher pillion seat when compared to other bikes.. But when it comes the duke, if the rider is carrying a backpack then its very difficult for the pillion to sit..

#2: I for one am not facing any issues or problems (engine related, disc plate related, disc pad related, vibes related) till now (fingers crossed) .. done 1000 kms on my bike.. Since this bike is lighter than the older versions does shake during slight cross winds while riding at high speeds for me.. Need to get used to it

You haven't changed your engine oil not even once???.. OMG... Don't tell me you have ridden 1800 km with stock oil.. If you have please change oil ASAP..

I've used MOTUL & Valvoline and both are good, Motul being better.. no idea about the other oils.. Recommend you to move to FS only after 5k or 6k Kms.. till then you can either use Motul 3100 gold 20W50 or 15w50, Motul 3000 or Motul 5100 15W50 Semi-Synt oil..
You should get the engine oil filter replaced as well..
                        Thanks Geneboy for your advice.

Thanks guys for your advice, will stick with the NS and save the 50K for something useful.

                              • Hello Friends,

I bought my bike on 24th Nov and have completed 250 kms so far...

I am concerned about run in.. Not sure if i am doing it correctly.. I have 50-50% highway and city (City meaning completely 1st and 2nd gear driving). Also i am not looking at speed as limiting factor, I just concentrate on rpm. I drive in the range of 2.5k to 4k rpm and occasionally due to wrong gear switching and sometimes while pick up, i go to 4.5k - 5k RPM (due to pathetic lower end torque). Please guide me if i am doing anything wrong.

Also, this being my first two wheeler ever, I dont realise vibrations anywhere in my bike even though they migth be present

One good thing about P200Ns is that whenever i do some newbie mistake on road (like false neutral, engine stopping while pick up), People dont mind it.. they are busy checking out the bike \m/
