Guys is there anything I can do to fix a flat spot between under 5k RPM ? It's clearly felt in 4-5k.. even over 5k I believe. It feels exactly like when you run out of petrol & engine runs on fumes.. So I'm having to keep my engine over 6k RPM for a smooth ride. It's like the low end is completely dead & messed up.. I don't feel like taking it to SVC just for this, any tips ? AFR tuning karun kya ? (never done before). or will the guy at SVC fix this sort of issue within minutes ?

Yes I thought so, lean mixture must be it. I just now did as you said.. however turning the screw anti clockwise lowers the idle RPM ? If I turn it more towards anti clock direction the engine nearly shuts off. doing the Opposite (clockwise/ the way we tighten screws) it increases the idle RPM... So I turned it clockwise & the idle RPM now stands at 1.7/8.. previously 1.5/6. I will notify if I feel this has solved the flat spot issue.. need to ride more to find it out.Originally posted by mayank.travadi View Postu have a lean mixture...turn the AFR screw half turn anti clockwise and it should solve the problem...yes ASC can help u easily...tell him pick up bekaar hai...tune for power...but not too much power..u will screw up the FE
did all this after riding the bike for 10kms & making sure the engine was warmed up. btw what should be the appropriate idle RPM to have a rich mixture ?
just looking for knowledge lol

1. What do you need the air filter for? I really don't think it will do any good. Rest its your choice.Originally posted by sara2868 View PostHello Every one ,

2. Im not eligible for it.
3. Yes I find motul to be the best but it depends on how much you've ridden. To change it at:-
~200kms > Motul 3000 (Mineral)
~1500kms > Motul 3100 (Semi-Synthetic)
~5000kms > Motul 7100 )Fully Synthetic)
Motul 7100 is fully synthetic which should not be used until you get a 5000kms reading on your odo.

Just got my bike serviced 1st time.
There are still some issues persisting :
1. The engine seems to heat up very rapidly. I just rode it for 4 kms from SVC towards my work place, and could even touch the engine for more than a second. What could be the reason? Is this issue
related to engine oil? Coolant has been topped up to MAX level and the colling system is engaged when the heat is too much.. but, why after just 4 Kms?
It's an engine, t's supposed to create heat, don't worry about it too much. You could even cook an omlette there after riding for only 5 minutes. :P
2. The vibrations around the tank area have reduced but there are excessive vibrations at the pillion end of the bike, very irritating. Has any other member experienced the same?
What could be the possible solution?
There are complaints about vibrations near the rear area and pillion seat but since there are no screws to be tightened there it's kinda something we will have to live with. :\
I have changed the engine oil to Motul mineral.
Thanks and Regards,
ArvindOriginally posted by pravin.murthy View PostHi Friends, just took delivery of my new Pulsar yesterday evening... I was having this issue of the vehicle going off straight away from the showroom when stopped/ while slow in the traffic. I could see that the idling is set to 1200 rpm which is low by all standards... Do you suggest me to increase the idling myself or take it to the SVC to do it?
As somebody has alredy said, you need to idle the bike for 2 minutes before you have a cold start. This is extremely important because during cold starts the bike will idle at 1.2rpm and then as the engine heats it slowly increase upto 1.5krpm. I usually start the bike, clean it, wear my gear helmet and then take off. That's enough time for it to warm up.
The bike was very hollow in the power delivery below 3000 rpm, literally struggling to stay awake!! My previous bike was an Apache RTR 160 and it has so much pull that its incomparable in the lower revs.. Hoping that this will improve over time but not by much... I literally had a nightmare to drive the bike in the heavy Bangalore traffic in the evening due to this issue... No pull below 3K and the bike going off too!!Originally posted by pravin.murthy View PostThanks for the suggestion mate.. Will wait for the bike to run in a little bit and will set the idling a little higher until then...
Another baffling thing was the recommended speed limits mentioned in the manual... 48 km/hrmax in 6th gear for the first 1000kms!! Ohh mann.... how could it be so low... Its about 3.3-3.4K rpm in the top gear max... its as good as not using the top gear for the first 1000kms.... Post which I see the max speed for the next 1000kms to be only 54 km/hr....
You don't need to follow it so strictly. Keep the rpm below 4k in the first 500kms and increase it gradually as kms pass.
I had to spin the engine to atleast 4K rpm last evening for the engine to be running without stalling... so I guess Ive already crossed the indirect RPM limit Bajaj recommends!! lolReplies in bold... Happy new yearOriginally posted by sara2868 View PostHello Every one ,

As somebody already said, it's not recomended to put in a new air filter, atleast not now. Which ever oil you change to make sure you don't change to full synthetic before 5k kms.
I would rather be riding my bike thinking of God, than sitting in the temple thinking of my bike.

The bike itself is powerful enough mate...I would suggest you to keep it as stock (at least the engine, exhausts and other mechanical parts), not only for warranty purpose but also first get a feel of it. Further I don't think there is any third party air filter which is available as a direct fit for NS. But you can search the thread as someone has already installed one from somewhere.Originally posted by sara2868 View PostThanks for your valuable Reply,
