I feel its absolutely fine to fit in an R15 V1's 100/80 rear tyre as the front tyre of the Pulsar 200NS... I dont like the looks of the rear tyre hugger and the saree guard and hence have removed them....

    • mayank bhai today I located that tiny bronze AFR screw... it's so inside behind the Idle screw.. can hardly see. Also difficult to get a screw driver to fit straight inside upon it. I rotated it very slightly in anti clockwise direction when the engine wasn't running... was that ok ? Anyway, I can already feel a great difference in the ride quality. (will confirm if this totally fixed the flat spot issue).
Since the flat spot began to show... I was having such horrendous cold start issues everyday. After turning it just slightly (like a quarter or less) .. I turned on the bike 1st time today & the engine was steady & didn't stall even once. Just like it behaved earlier. and there is slightly smoother pickup & seems more torque in low end. The RPM needle still jumps slightly/ I might attempt attempt to tune it perfectly.. but worried about screwing up something. may be tomorrow heh.
      Thanks alot !

HAHA...yea of the bikes i have seen till now..this screw is buried the deepest inside the bike..its like bajaj doesnt wat us o tune it ourselves :P

nice to know that ur cold start issue is history and pick up is better...actually since last few days i too was facing cold start problem but today i started the bike after 3-4 days and it started in a single crank without stalling...i am surprised...the NS has a mind of its own..but my needle dances a little too so i'll turn the screw a bit anti clockwise...

nah if u start tuning right from scratch then u need to warm up and follow those steps...but if u know ur tuning is a little gadbad and little turn of the screw will fix it..no harm in doing it while the bike engine is not running....its just a screw to control air and fuel flow...nothing much

Well even I removed saree guard hate that thing . Anyways do post you ride review after the change of tyres
One request do install that tyre hugger during rainy season, it's very horrible for other riders when some one rides a bike where the back part is so open

          • more puncture prone

Great Pics ............ One query As these R 15 tyres are soft compound tyres , so will they be more puncture prone than the hard compound tyres or not ?

And your expereince as far ride quality is concerned ?

            The new tyres that I installed today.... Front - MRF Nylogrip Zapper S - 100/80 (R15 V1's rear tyre); Rear - MRF RevZ-S - 130/70 (R15 V2's rear tyre)

Yes they will be very much prone to punctures The stock tyres are very good in avoiding that issue as they are hard compound

My problem is that I hear some kind of "metallic" sound from below( towards the rear tire),when i run over any gutter or bumps. Its definitely not the tool kit,
because I don't keep any. I took it to the service center yesterday and they said it might be due to the chain getting loose.I got it tightened(sprayed too).
There is some change now,but even today I heard some "metallic-clang" sound once when the road was miserable.

Any idea, what it is? If its indeed due to the chain getting loose, then how many kms should I run to get it tightened every time ?

PS : I'm not talking about any prolonged vibrating sounds...its only when the bike jumps over these bumps and all, this sound comes.
Same problem here. The ASC guys also cannot find the source of the sound. Plz update when you find the problem.

Yes.... it is definitely more prone for punctures and the life of the tyres should considerably be lesser than the stock ones...

However you see my usage of the bike is minimum.... as I use my car often.... I took 4 yrs to complete 15K on my old bike... so that would tell the story... and hence it works out for me....

The ride quality for some reason seems to be a little more stiffer though.... I have hardly ridden it enough though.. to tell it convincingly......

I would have to see how it splashes water while riding on a wet surface..... Will think of fitting it back if required...

What I heard though is this bike with that hugger splashes water and dirt back on the pillion seat and pillion rider!! So I guess thats another point to keep in mind...

There is no problem in using that particular Tyre, don't worry,as long as you have fitted it in the proper rotating direction.

Not all front Tyre designs have a central groove(Eg. KTM Duke 200),although it does help in straight line stability of the motorcycle,it wont make much of a difference...

Speaking about the curvature, that doesn't matter too...it would help you while cornering though.

your bike lacks one n only thing in the above pic, RIM tapes get them ASAP
Lastly the bike looks awesome without RVMs though I strongly recommend everyone not to do that. One of the most important tool while riding(at least for me). I can't ride without them

Removing RVMs is not a wise thing in my opinion.... atleast when you are riding in the highway or in city (well I mean riding anywhere ) ...
