  • Thanks for the answers guys. Really appreciate it.

While going through the forum, i found senior members suggesting to shift to Fully synthetic oil after 5000Kms, and that too Motul 7100.
A friend of mine is suggesting to go for Shell Helix, after 7000Kms, and he owns an R15. I rode couple of R15s' one with the Helix and the other without, and the one with Helix was
    super smooth.
Is it costlier than Motul 7100? Recommended for 200NS?

    Thanks
    Arvind

Bro...u havent even got your first service done...just use any mineral or semi synthetic oil for now...and to properly appreciate the smoothness of synthetic...shift after 10K kms....the engine is new...for what do u need costly synthetics?? its useless right now..trust me..and being very slippery the running in period is prolonged with synthetic...

cross a good amount on the odo like 10k ms and then think about synthetic oils...experiment which works best for you...motul i have heard is the best...shell...i have no idea...and isnt helix a car oil...i'm not sure..but do check it before using...NEVER EVER use a car oil...

        Thanks Mayank.

I just asked out of curiosity. Will do as suggested.

Most welcome...well i too was exactly like you when i bought my first bike and inquiring about what oil to use and all but then i realised i just need to get regular service...if possible reject dtsi oil and try motul and if not..dtsi is not that bad...and just enjoy the ride...

Did mail to the customer care yesterday. Nothing good happened till today. And I myself have lost hope in bajaj.

First try to get the matter solve at that particular service station, then you can always shoot a mail to customer care. Remember in the mail to mention the name of the manager & further details of the SVC.

Most importantly, pray they listen to your query
I tried to finish it off then and there. But they were too adamant that they are not responsible for whatever happened. I was in no mood to fight too...

            • Hi folks!

I finally got my blue beast after many months of delay. I've run it through the first 140 KMs and I can hear (on the left side of the bike) something like metal particles floating around inside the engine, causing a very faint jingling sound.

I'm kind of sure it's not a vibe and it's from inside the engine. Do you guys think it's metal shavings or something from the run-in and is it normal? Maybe I'm just being paranoid! This is the first new bike I've ever had.

Looking forward to a reply, so I can put the paranoia to rest!

Thanks a lot in advance guys,
              R

Well I tell you something happened to me n my dad. We came back after a movie and their were hell of scratches on the car. The manager said sir we are not responsible for anything that happens in a parking lot. My dad said, "ok, now in front of you i will break the mirror o this car". Then he realized his mistake & at least spoke properly. So what I am trying to say is, don't let them go so easily. If BAJAJ don't do anyhting, dont be afraid to go to consumer court, you can file your petition online( it may sound too serious but some day they might do some serious damage then...)

Welcome to the Club is the sound like, buzzzingggg sound? If yes, then it's coming from the console. Apply some double tape around the dome area & it will all be good. If it's something else then i don't know

                  • Oh it's coming from the console! Hmm, that's possible, but I'll have to wait till I take it to work tomorrow to confirm.

Thanks for the welcome and thanks a lot for the prompt reply Ankur, I'll post here tomorrow with what I find.

I am for certain it's the sound I am talking about as everyone faced the same issue at some point of time during their ownership. No problem at all.

Anybody else with this?
Yeah, very very mild ones just around 5k rpm, just like you mentioned, on the side panels only. No vibes from the tank, handlebars, footpegs or seats. In fact they're so mild, I'd mostly fail to notice them. No bike can become 100% vibe free (esp not pulsars ), anyway don't worry, the vibes will greatly reduce as you clock more kms and follow periodic engine and body maintenance. Mine's run 4800 kms and well maintained!

                          Congrats on owning the beast!
That was the one and only issue in my bike. It's either tappet noise or the spark plugs not tightened properly (very small chance of this being the culprit though). I was tired of repeatedly going to the svcs and getting replies in the negative. Then one day my eye fell on the lower left spark plug which was vibrating as it fired and made the horribly loud sewing machine type sound. Tightened it and now, I'm loving it!

                            • Guess no one knows the answer, anyways! regarding engine smoothness always fill 91 Octane (Extra Premium) Petrol on your NS. But don't mix it with ordinary petrol. You can see the differ in Performance as well as smoothness, just try it once.
