I enquired at bajaj about the oil filter and he said change interval is 10000 kms . My poor filter has already seen a wide range of oils and conditions but I think I'll let it be for now.
And of course, get the AFR tuned to richer. That should do away with the bad pickup and flat spots if any.

Maybe the clutch plates are gone, or not fitted properly when last removed for cleaning. And you got the brake bleeding done? What oil did you fill back in? Dot3, dot4 or some other? Made sure there were no air bubbles?
Btw how is it that yours used to run at 62 km/h at 4k rpm? Mine runs at 59 km/h at 4k, 6th gear. Is it the variation in speedo error or should I get my bike checked? And do any of the ktm owners too face this speedo error?
My bike does 58 in the top gear at 4K...

Mine does 58 at 4k and 60 at 4.2k. I think with so many variations in the speed vs rpm this definitely has to do something with the tuning of the bike.

Is this the same case with fuel injected bikes where tuning is done automatically?

lol, and mine runs at 57km/h at 4k rpm on 6th gear .. but I don't mind such small differences.

or maybe a capable rider can do that.
and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

#i have learnt to manipulate my own adrenaline and the perception of biking is different.
            #overkill is underrated.
#how random roads may appear there is always a destination.sigpic
#i don't subscribe to co-incidence,either it is the rider or the other moron on the road

(:)people keeps on saying add spark to life, bajaj got hold of that idea and added an extra spark to bike.

A capable rider can shave of a couple of 1/10ths may be.. and not so much Im sure.. 2.7secs is something even Ninja250 cant acheive... However the new breed of bikes to be introduced in 2013 should acheive it effortlessly (Courtesy - Duke 390; CBR500R; Pulsar 375)... 2013 will be a very exciting year in Indian biking history Im sure...

I think... Pulsar 200ns is demanding a fuel injection system, then only all these engine vibration and low power issues will sort out. But the question is why they haven't provided fi on it? For the sake of 10-15k Rupees? And now they are planning to launch it with fuel injection. Then what the hell we existing customers will do with this silly carb.?

What has Fi to do with vibrations. It's more related to engine design & Chasis!!

Buddy, I am taking about 'Engine Vibration' which totally depends on AFR setting (especially i found on this bike) i.e rice mixture less vib. , lean mixture high vib. but rich and lean both has cons and pros. I mean to say is, feul injection adjust the fuel-air ratio automatically which a carb. cannot. Hence we are facing this issues like low power at less rpm, less top speed etc varying with each bike!

When has Bajaj bothered about existing customers that way.... The history is proof of its negligence to its existing customer base... and trying to introduce a new model every 6 months and thereby leaving us behind.... and yet they still cant match the japanese in the overall finesse!! Dont know what do they achieve by all these things...

Fortunately they don't stop production when a bike is selling......as far as i feel people will prefer to buy cheaper bike when it comes to bajaj, 10-15k when u getting same figures...like the way 220 carb sold a lot more than fi as was cheap and gave almost equal figures....By the way carb is easier to maintain, than fi....

With Bajaj Im also with Carb rather than an Fi keeping the overall factors in perspective...

Though it has barely crossed 2500 km but i still went for the service as on the user's manual both 2nd and 3rd service have to be done within 240 days of purchase and since i might not even cross 4500 km before 240 days i thought i will go the service and then 2months later will go for the third one.

Now my query is that after the service i hear a small humming sound from the chain. does it indicate an overtightened chain?

At delhi NS'ians. I did the first and second service from Okhala Dewan Bajaj workshop. The first one was ok but when i went for the second service the mechanic was in too much hurry to even take out the air filter and clean it. I had to tell him what all things to be done. There was another Duke whose front shockers required some repair, which i think he wanted to do it at the earliest. But overall the second service experience was not very satisfying. So for the third service i plan to go to Dewan Bajaj Dwarka from where i had bought the bike.

Another query, does anyone feel a slight surge in engine power after 4k rpm? I feel that as soon as my bike crosses the 4k mark it makes it starts getting all the power and it screams to be ridden harder. This applies on all gears
If you want another second service you can shoot a mail to BAL CC. I got my first service 2 times...the second time being after I complained about the pathetic service.

The FI is currently for export...so it may take sometime to come in our local market. But honestly I feel that this time the FI will do a better job than the one on P220 because of KTM. BAL will surely be learning a few tricks for the FI.
