Same here.....except that mine's coming from the left hand side. And.....the service centre guys are as clueless as Neanderthals about AIDS!!

Two legs and Two wheels. Add two more and they become crutches and cars.

Even i was getting this same issue around 600 - 1200 kms on odo but sort out automatically. This sound is from the right side of front wheel, whether its from bearing or disc caliper... i have a doubt.

          • Hi Friends,

I am face huge power loss in my 200ns which has clocked 5000km with 2nd service done around 3600kms on odo. Had taken bike to SVC and supervisor informed that gear-shaft has to be changed which is still out of stock. He also informed me that MANY MAJOR ISSUES HAS COME UP IN 200NS HENCE COMPANY HAS REDUCED PRODUCTION & ARE TRYING TO RECTIFY SAME & GET THE NEXT BATCH CLEARED BEFORE ITS TOO LATE. HE ALSO ADVISED ME TO GET RID OF MY BIKE & TAKE ANOTHER ONE BECAUSE THERE IS HUGE SCARCITY OF SPARES AS WELL AS PER THEIR INFO.

I am not sure how many here are facing power loss, below are my issues being faced since last 1500kms :
            1) Pick-up has drastically come down (thinking twice before dragging against a p150, such bad is the pick-up loss)
            2) Huge rattling coming from front end, clutch lever & handle
            3) Vibrations has increased soo much that even pillion is complaining what's wrong with my bike (even I've rode as pillion & found same)
            4) Gear lever has become very sticky - upon downshifting or upshifting gears are not engaging properly and most of the time gets struck
            5) Without above issues, mileage comes hardly 30-35 kmpl
            6) Shifting from 1st to 2nd has become a nightmare as it is taking 2-3 seconds time to find whether bike is in neutral or it is in 2nd gear

I am seriously considering to get rid of this bike because I also own a p220 dtsi for last 2 years with 27k on odo but never faced soo many issues that too within 5k on odo reading. 200NS owners from HYD please advice me seriously where to get these issues sorted out. I am very upset & getting nightmares even during daytime.

            Best Regards.

            • In my bike i have the cracking noise somewhere from the front left of the bike. It is not the front racer i am sure. it is also not from the bearing or disc caliper. Am very much irritated with the sound.

It must be because of poor maintenence or your svc guys dont do the service correctly. I have not faced a single issue with the engine till now. The only problem I have presently is the cracking noise from somewhere which seems like some nut or bolt has come loose.

Otherwise the bike is a very good handler and very quick.

Get the valve tappets adjusted first and pour in petrol from a good filling station, you will see the difference.

As for the gear shifts, get the clutch free play adjusted per your requirement and see the difference.

btw my bike is at 13000km on odo. and four months old

Also I observe that the gear shifts are smoothest between 2500 and 4000rpm

Bro calm down. Don't go for any change in bike as it's 1L bike not a cycle.

Can you change the parts which all needs to be changed for repair under warranty ??

Firstly get your bike checked in some best Bajaj service center so you can get an idea what's wrong with your bike. And if it's manufacturing defects then all those things should be covered in warranty and get it changed.

Check for the bikes wheel are they moving freely ?? and check for the carb cleaning and setting.!

Even I doubt whether the spark plugs are alright ?

I Doubt on the service center..Are they playing with customers!

Well i don't think this will happend and i am sure about it... BAJAJ is a BRAND and has gone at multinational level, therefore every single bike is well tested before launch.
I am not sure how many here are facing power loss, below are my issues being faced since last 1500kms :
                      1) Pick-up has drastically come down (thinking twice before dragging against a p150, such bad is the pick-up loss)
Presently my 200ns has done 5800km, and i can rip even CBR 250
                      2) Huge rattling coming from front end, clutch lever & handle
Everything is going smooth and moreover after crossing 5k kms engine has become smoother.
                      3) Vibrations has increased soo much that even pillion is complaining what's wrong with my bike (even I've rode as pillion & found same)
Little vibs but that too are neglectable, nothing about to complain buddy.
                      4) Gear lever has become very sticky - upon downshifting or upshifting gears are not engaging properly and most of the time gets struck
Bajaj has done drastic improvement on Pulsar 200ns Gear compared to other Pulsar's model.
                      5) Without above issues, mileage comes hardly 30-35 kmpl
Are you expecting 40-50kmpl from a 200cc Performance bike?
                      6) Shifting from 1st to 2nd has become a nightmare as it is taking 2-3 seconds time to find whether bike is in neutral or it is in 2nd gear
                      Ehhh???

I am seriously considering to get rid of this bike because I also own a p220 dtsi for last 2 years with 27k on odo but never faced soo many issues that too within 5k on odo reading. 200NS owners from HYD please advice me seriously where to get these issues sorted out. Dude, all you need is a proper servicing of your bike. And remember riding Pulsar 200ns is totally different and as complicated as riding Duke 200, if you can't adopt its engine behaviour, it will never give you the pleasure of riding.

Reduced production?! Major issues? Supervisor letting you down to this extent? Bajaj have a lot of homework to do!
My bike has also just completed 5000 kms and mine was also serviced at 3700 kms for the second free service. This post has taken me by complete surprise! Also, my bike was one from the very first batches.

I am not sure how many here are facing power loss, below are my issues being faced since last 1500kms :
                                1) Pick-up has drastically come down (thinking twice before dragging against a p150, such bad is the pick-up loss)
One of my friends is experiencing the same. He used to trust the bajaj servicemen a lot. Guess they screwed it up. I for one, feel their engine oil is a factor. I found my svc mixing fully burnt engine oil with brand new oil in one single drum.

                                2) Huge rattling coming from front end, clutch lever & handle
Get the visible bolts tightened as much as required and if it's from the engine, get the valve clearances adjusted. Check if the spark plugs are properly tightened and also make sure there aren't any air leaks into the engine.

                                3) Vibrations has increased soo much that even pillion is complaining what's wrong with my bike (even I've rode as pillion & found same)
Bolt tightening should solve it to an extent. Vibrations also depend on what engine oil you are using. For example bikes with an excellent quality FS oils have very minimal or zero vibrations, even at places without bolts like the rear seat.

                                4) Gear lever has become very sticky - upon downshifting or upshifting gears are not engaging properly and most of the time gets struck
Sorry I don't have an answer for this one.

                                5) Without above issues, mileage comes hardly 30-35 kmpl
Could be a tuning issue. Vehicle should optimally run on *mildly* rich AFR setting. I'm getting 35 to 40 in city and 45 on highway with this setting.

                                6) Shifting from 1st to 2nd has become a nightmare as it is taking 2-3 seconds time to find whether bike is in neutral or it is in 2nd gear
Since I mentioned my bike is from one of the very first batches, mine has that false neutral problem between gears 1 and 2. But I've adapted to it and changed my shifting method for gear 2. Apparently the svcs can't solve my issue.

Please don't. Pressurise the service centres, mark your point with the manager and try getting the most out of your warranty. My bike too had niggles initially and most of them turned out to be due to carelessness on the servicemen's part. Learnt stuff here at xbhp and I don't have any problems now. The NS is an excellent piece of machinery. Only, it needs a lot of care and maintenance, especially mine does. But the results I get out of them are worth it.

                                Best Regards.
