  • Finally after reading this thread for more than week and almost after reading 300+ pages, today I purchased new pulsar 200 ns. Thank you all for contributing in this thread.
Now the issues on day 1
My bikes rpm has suddenly jumped from 1200 to 2500+ is this normal? Before delivery I did saw delivery guy playing with the screw on engine to adjust rpm.

    • There are many queries raised about missing by many of our members.
& all are remain unanswered ... very sad.
I had also made a post about it, some days ago...

I am posting my problem ones more to invite your attraction.

      Now my odo is 2000+
      1) from the beginning my bike's acceleration above 5.5 K RPM was not smooth
it behaves like running on low fuel

but if I open more throttle, bike will gradually speedup
it is more between 5400-7500 rpm
in short, I couldn't drive my bike at a stable speed between that rpm level

I am very upset about my NS
      2) & also it is fish-tailing 90+ km/hr
      3) does anyone know; how to get rid of the "RRrrr" sound which is coming from on/off key assembly?
      4) I had tried to UN-mantle the tail lamp assy. I couldn't..... (for to remove vibe sound)

tomorrow I am taking it to SVC for the third time.
      hope they can fix it
I wish if I am the only rider in roads !!!!!
So I can red line my bike all the time

Seems carburetor issue to me...It takes some efforts to get it set correctly..ideally your AFR should be set to 2.0%CO @about 1400rpm..cold idling @1200-1300 and hot idling @1600+-100..i had similar issue but after setting of carburetor was done properly power delivery is good now...

Does this happen while breaking only or just normal riding itself tire wobbles?? Can't sat what it is due to if its the later. Could be misaligned rear wheel, bulge in the tire or bent rim...

          3) does anyone know; how to get rid of the "RRrrr" sound which is coming from on/off key assembly?
Something is lose i think in the console assembly. The SVC will fix it by putting double-sided tape...

What exactly is that you couldn't?? dismantaling the tail lamp assembly or removing vibs?? Try to figure out what exactly causing the vibs?? like engine or chain or breaks or just some lose nut....that will help in removing the vibs...

tomorrow I am taking it to SVC for the third time.

          Guys,

I was checking my tires for puncture. That time I noticed that the front tire of my bike is very difficult to rotate by hand as compared to the rear tire. The rear one does about a rotation when rotated by hand whereas the front tire doesn't even complete quarter of rotation with similar efforts. The breaks seem too tight. IS this normal??
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference...

Thats cause the reserve-ON-OFF knob/kit has gone kaput... Ask the service guys to check there might be some cleaning to be done or else you'l have to replace that part..

I had a similar problem, but now it has reduced quite a lot and the front tyre moves more freely. I took it to the mechanic and the only thing he did was bleeded a lil brake fluid as he said that sometimes air bubbles form inside the brake lines. I was confused as to how it could be possible, but after seeing the result did not break my head in knowing the reason.

                Try this. hope it helps.

Also try cleaning the brake pad using water or sand paper

if none of the above works then it could be a bent disc plate.

I feared about adjusting carburetor settings, because my NS gives me 40+ mileage in real riding conditions
I am totally "noob' about AFR settings . and i have to trust SVC guys

I don't care about breaking. I know any bikes will fish tail back wheels without proper back& front braking pressure
its wobbling. i think its alignment issue

The SVC guys have no clue
I had used double sided tapes for removing body panel vibes. Of course, engine vibe; we couldn't do any thing about it, right?
Many of our members had stated, eng vibe can be reduced by using Motul oil , which can't avail locally
& some says if we using Motul oil, it will reduce pick-up & Pertol mileage

Clearly, I have to remove vibe sound. it is coming from tail lamp assy . the sound will gone if we press outer body panel, under tail lamp, firmly.

                  • Today I finished my third free service at 7000 kms on the odo. The service in-charge saw that I had installed a HID, cut open and replaced a lot of wires and surprisingly, he said "yenu tondre illa bidi sir!" Which translates as "electrical warranty continued" Really cool. Also, I said I wanted 300v in my bike, he refused at first, giving me the warranty void risk crap. I told him what I knew and managed to convince him. He himself finally told me it's their practice to mix old and new bajaj oils to make money (there's the answer to dtsi-10000's popularity) and also told me not to let the manager know about the 300v since he's pretty strict. Now should I be angry or happy at this svc?
Oh, and excluding the oil, the bill came up to INR 187
Service quality rating: 3 out of 5 coz polishing wasn't done too neatly and they kept manhandling the bike around, even in my presence.

                      Day 2 - Issue Major!
Bike was on stand all the day. In the evening I went to the bike to start. Started the bike but with the big noise ( radiator also started to run with the bike! ) I felt something is wrong. I pressed the RED button to stop the bike but the noise continued so I turned off the key but noise continued!! Now I was bit panic! I turn on the key no change, I turn On the RED button, the bike started on its own without pressing the start button!!
Now I was sure in trouble cause I cannot turn off the bike and get away... So I called the guy from Bajaj showroom. ( Luckily Yesterday I notedown his number!!! May be for this event!) I called him and explained him the situation. He said "Sir, Can you drive bike to showroom?" I said "I can". He said "please come I will check it and fix it." So I started driving, Showroom is around 12KM from my house. On my way I noticed horn is not working. After around 6 KM, Low battery indicator started to blink. There was signal right after that, so I stopped at signal. Bike immediately was dead, no electrical were working. So I again called the Bajaj showroom guy. I explained him everything. SO he sent 2 guys, they took my bike and also said "Sorry Sir!" and said tomorrow you will get your bike we will check what has gone wrong and will try to give it by 12 O clock.

                        A comical reply in bold.

Probably the wiring at some part isn't insulated properly. The circuitry might not be completely broken even after you turn off the ignition and hence, battery drain.

Or you might have immediately switched off your bike after you last ran it. It's advisable to let the engine idle for a minute after it's been run for a long time. The radiator fan might have been on and turning off the engine kill switch (Note: the key is still in ON position) means the alternator stops generating electricity and the battery stops getting charged. And as a result, it keeps on getting drained, thanks to the fan. That ON state of the fan continues even when the key is switched on the next time until the sensors detect that the temperature is low. My post is open to corrections for I might be completely wrong too.

Do post later on the exact reason for the battery drain.
You shouldn't be charged for any electrical repairs for now btw.

Thanks Aditya. They better not dare to charge me. Bike is still not registered, Infact I was taking bike to register and put the number. I have taken a pre-register delivery. If they dare to charge me I will directly call in Bajaj company and I will refuse the bike! I am sure they wont charge cause it was pretty embarrassing for them.
I will definitely update everyone on this forum the exact reason of this issue.
Btw, inspite of this issue on bike my confidence and faith has not yet shaken. In first version of Pulsar back in Nov 2001 (my bike was one of first 100 bike on road Pulsar 180). I had similar experiences of stalling in the middle of journey and what not! and Bajaj did co-operated a lot. Infact I still have the list of 20-25 issues that I submitted to Bajaj back in 2001 and step by step all the suggestions were deployed in coming pulsar versions. They did gave us (me and my friend) a very good tour of the production line and the factory and a lunch with the senior management.

The difference is not much but it is not correct. No visible bend.
I am taking my bike again to svc on Monday and give them a piece of my mind. I have to travel 30 kms one way.
And the svc in a area where there is no public transport. Anyways, I have to do it. I just hope it will be fixed.

i purchased it on 1st of august in erode, tamilnadu.

                            Is your problem rectified.?
If yes then please tell me the solution. As I have desperately changed every thing to my bike including new set of tyres and new front fork assembly, but all in vain

Infact this is my 2nd day on Pulsar NS and on day 1, I did around 20 KM running. Even I felt that my left had was paining a bit so I double checked if the handle bars are appropriately fitted.

bro check your left side handlebar and tank gap and vice versa...
If any improper gap is seen then go and tell bajaj tomorrow itself..

by Improper means left side your finger can move freely and to the right it will be not...
