I meant moving the bike from standstill by releasing the clutch in second gear without using the throttle at all. I took two completely different engines as examples to explain torque and acceleration. Anyway, I hope things are clear.Originally posted by demonbiker View PostLast edited by Aditya N Bharadwaj; 03-01-2013, 04:10 PM.Sarcasm is my automatic response to stupidity.

Hello all,
went for second service to the shreeram bajaj svc at thane.
Engine oil change, flushing = around 800,
chain lube around 60
My left leg guard ka bolt is broken woth some part still in bike frame. Removing that and adding a new one = 200 Rs
Bajaj Sticker (this one is silly) = 20Rs
Bike toh le liya but kharcha bahut ho raha hai !!

eh ? But push starting the bike woudn't work ? The manual says it's the only way to start the bike if the battery runs out or goes dead.. something like that.Originally posted by tushargok View Post1. If your battery is dead your bike cannot run!.
yea, first gear pulls really hard indeed, the changes required between 1st and 2nd can be too frequent. but it's ok i guess. I just gotta adjust moreOriginally posted by nilesh14587 View PostI do agree with one thing, good acceleration of NS (no idea about bullet though) and too many gear changes. First gear is too powerful for traffic. I like my Passion better than my NS when it comes to riding in heavy traffic.
yeah man. i am also abit scared.. see i also had two accidents.. one while going fast above 80kmph & hit a stone.. and one while braking over gravel near a pothole.. Now I've developed this fear that something might definitely go wrong if I go fast for a long distance or brake while stumbling upon an obstacle.Originally posted by danny king View PostI have not gone beyond 70 kmph ever since the fall. Maybe, I am a little scared .
From my previous high speed experiences. Considering the upright seating position (we have to crouch low to minimise drag), Eurogrip tyres and no stream lining, high speed riding can be disturbing. I've felt that the Eurogrips loses its grip while in high speed. Its as if its slipping. Cross winds can make the bike unstable (any bike).
Which sticker ?Originally posted by tejas1509 View PostBajaj Sticker (this one is silly) = 20RS

What flushing?

Why 200 bucks for one bolt? Or was the whole guard replaced?

My third service cost me ~180 bucks (at the svc) + 980 bucks for the engine oil (motul, which I had bought by myself) which was not included in the bill.
I refused the 3M engine oil additive and tank anti-rust additive and that saved me ~300 rupees.Last edited by Aditya N Bharadwaj; 03-01-2013, 04:17 PM.Sarcasm is my automatic response to stupidity.

He said that he will ahve to weld and take out the broken screw. Not replacing the guard. Dont know how that happened but have heard a lotta guys complain about build quality of Bajaj.
And flushing ka i had read some pages back. So gave green flag for flushing. They remove corroded particles from Engine it seems...
My bike was feeling a lot of vibrations and was getting rough. Hopefully 2nd service will keep it smooth for 3 months atleast !!

Hi all, I've covered 1800kms now. Will be changing oil and oil filter at 2000. Overall I'm happy but there are a few things which scared me.
1. The longer turning radius. A couple of times I was about to fall after I turned it to the limit and lost control. (while taking U turns around the divider)
2. Low torque at the lower rev. It turned off by itself several times when I started off moving.
I understand that nothing can be done with point no 1.I need to just get used to it. But in the case of no 2, can installing a ffe help to increase the low end torque? btw I don't want to change sprocket or invest a bomb.Love the ride, not the destination

I thought it was a genuine and unique problem which I was fighting with bajaj past 7 months!!!Originally posted by mayank.travadi View Posti have a similar kind of problem as posted a 2 pages ago on this thread about gap between the head lamp unit and the tank scoops
Turned handlebar full to the left distance between headlamp side masks and tank scoops is quite less around 5-6mm
turned handlebar fully right and distance is dangerously less...i could see only a space of less than 3mm
problem with my bike or everyone else?
solutions?
please bro send a mail regarding this problem to bajaj customercare as it is a common manufacturing fault which goes unreported....
take steps to tell bajaj about the problems bro... please

if i write a mail to bajaj CC they are going to redirect my complaint to the SVCOriginally posted by ajayfreezer View PostI thought it was a genuine and unique problem which I was fighting with bajaj past 7 months!!!

now i have had 2 crashes already....and i dont think they will accept it as a manufacturing fault...
if u want i can post images here...the handle bar on the left has some space when turned fully left but when turned fully right it is almost touching the tank...
possible causes
-some say forks are bent
-some say handle bar bent(however i dont feel it is bent...i dont feel i am stretching one hand more than the other....but i guess this problem has been discussed before...bike sways to the left if i leave my hands...dunno the cause)
-the stopper on the frame which stops the handle bar to move more to the left or right after a certain limit
whatever be the cause...to repair it its gonna be tough on my meagre college student pocket money

Exact same thing had happened with me. When I had fallen once before, the leg guard was alright but the bolt holding it in place had gotten bent. But I've heard that's how it's supposed to work and hence they use a soft metal to make the bolt. I was told to get tack welding done at my svc too but back at home, my dad simply used a cutting plier to hold the broken part tightly and unscrew it out. Cost: 0. Of course, the guard was broken too so I bought a new one + new bolt and that cost me 190 rupees.Originally posted by tejas1509 View PostHi Aditya,

Coming to the flushing part, my bike was NEVER flushed, even though three services and four oil changes are already over. The oil was simply changed to the one I desired. But I don't think I needed that either for my engine is super smooth.
Well, what I've noticed in my bike is that the handle is about 5mm away from the tank scoops on both sides so it's alright for me to assume that the handle's not misaligned. I've fallen twice btw.Originally posted by ajayfreezer View PostI thought it was a genuine and unique problem which I was fighting with bajaj past 7 months!!!

I really appreciate it thank you :-) it is clear.. but if I understood it in the right sense..low end torque allows bikes to ride in high gears at low speeds? Is that right?Originally posted by Aditya N Bharadwaj View PostI meant moving the bike from standstill by releasing the clutch in second gear without using the throttle at all. Reduction in Seat height for Pulsar 200NS
Respected members of XbhP,
Recently I brought a new bike, Pulsar200NS and the problem is, it's with me. I am only a 5'6" height. Leave both feet i can only tip toe on ground with bike in proper vertical position and of-course with a full foot planted on ground with bike slighjtly tilted to the side of plantation. So, my question is, Is there any way to reduce the height of bike any how... If i can plant both feet on ground, i would rather have much confidence in pursuing a highway ride...

yes, that's right..!! Also gives crazy pulling effect with a twist of throttle when in the right gear..!!!Originally posted by demonbiker View PostI really appreciate it thank you :-) it is clear.. but if I understood it in the right sense..low end torque allows bikes to ride in high gears at low speeds? Cheers

What's you odo reading?Originally posted by tejas1509 View PostEngine oil change, flushing = around 800
What was the need of flushing a new bike?
And there is still a controversy that new age engines do not need to be flushed.
Inputs anyone?Riding is not about destinations, it's about journeys.
