What was the need of flushing a new bike?
And there is still a controversy that new age engines do not need to be flushed.
Inputs anyone?
Been mixing oils from mineral to ss to fs to mineral at oil changes without flushing right from the begenning, i haven't faced any problems, so from experience i can possibly say , that flushing is not necessory.
I really appreciate it thank you :-) it is clear.. but if I understood it in the right sense..low end torque allows bikes to ride in high gears at low speeds? Is that right?
Yes, you are right
I have a question.
What is the use of high 'high end torque'?
Please anyone clarify me
does anyone noticed CBR150r's torque? it is as low as Bajaj platina in records
but we never feel it. may be due to its smooth revving. with a small twist of accelerator its rpm goes very high
I wish if I am the only rider in roads !!!!!
So I can red line my bike all the time
Exact same thing had happened with me. When I had fallen once before, the leg guard was alright but the bolt holding it in place had gotten bent. But I've heard that's how it's supposed to work and hence they use a soft metal to make the bolt. I was told to get tack welding done at my svc too but back at home, my dad simply used a cutting plier to hold the broken part tightly and unscrew it out. Cost: 0. Of course, the guard was broken too so I bought a new one + new bolt and that cost me 190 rupees.
The crash guard on my bike was bent after my fall. I had fixed two Roots Windtones to the crash guards.
The allen bolt was jammed stuck and I could not loosen it with the allen key. Only ended up damaging the slot and the key. So, I had to take it to a local svc to correct the bend and then removed the Windtones before I went to the main svc.

High end torque helps in touring, when you have to sometimes rev to higher rpms or even redline to quickly attain cruising speeds. It helps in drags too, because the engine will always be in the powerband, even after shifting.
In my opinion, NS deserved good low end torque and not high end torque. It's a bike built for the city. Had this 200cc mill come with a fully faired body, it probably would have been much much better than 220F at the highway. On a windless day, the bike zooms away to a speedo indicated 152 km/h, which translates to 137 km/h without speedo error.
CBR 150R also behaves *like* NS, bad low end torque AFAIH. Never ridden one though. But again, NS has a whole 50cc advantage.
Respected members of XbhP,
Recently I brought a new bike, Pulsar200NS and the problem is, it's with me. I am only a 5'6" height. Leave both feet i can only tip toe on ground with bike in proper vertical position and of-course with a full foot planted on ground with bike slighjtly tilted to the side of plantation. So, my question is, Is there any way to reduce the height of bike any how... If i can plant both feet on ground, i would rather have much confidence in pursuing a highway ride...

Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!
flushing the engine ? is that what decarbonising means ?
No.decarbonizing is different..it's done by removing the head....flushing is done by pouring the flushing liquid into engine while draining oil and letting it drain out...prolonged exposure of this oil in engine can harm the engine....

he said all NS are flushed on second servicing
Did flushing for arond 250.
The person there by mistake polished my bike. i guess teflon coating.. Another Red NS was to be coated.... Anyways the bike is very clean now.. but a bit sticky... will wipe off the wax/coat with dry cloth...

generally lube oil should never be mixed as it changes its properties or it may even cause gum formation. but some oils are compatible with each other, so you have to check the lube oil bottle if it is mentioned or not.

The so called Teflon coating is as good as any other polishing. It gives a better finishing because it is done with a buffing machine. I am against it as they are levying unjustifiably huge amount of money for it though the polish used is costly.
It need not be removed as it is harmless as any other polishing or waxing and it cannot be removed with dry cloth as you think. The SC may be offering another one or more free polishing too. Be sure that it is done.

I'm 5300 on odo, never did engine flushing till now. It's not mentioned in the owners manual or the maintenance chart. Anyways what done is done, and 250 is not much to be spent if you get a better result.
Riding is not about destinations, it's about journeys.
Finally, the fork gap issue and handle bar issue are solved. The stopper was taken off and a new piece welded in its place. The right handle was replaced as it was bent. Had to pay Rs 1134 for the entire fix.
I had them fix the engine vibrations as well. Now the bike is smooth.

i went to the SVC and was quoted the same...~1000bucks..change of handle bar and welding of new stopper
now what part of stopper u are talking?
one is a small cylindrical piece fixed on the chassis..the other are 2 parts one on left and one on right which hit the cylindrical piece and stop the handle bar to move further...
my handle bar is a bit bent too and well the manage said u can surely do all thee works but if u dont find handling problems u can surely ride normally..the bike is well built and strong and nothing will happen if u crash again...
how were the engine vibes fixed?
the only way i know is the vibes reduce if AFR mixture is rich and increase when the mixture is lean
can u quote a detailed bill here...
PS: cant the handle bar be straightened?probably by removing all switches and stuff and straitening it... no other option other than replacing?
