Im running with close to 1.35 lts. and its running fine. A li'l excess oil won't harm the engine.Originally posted by ashwinprakas View PostIf engine oil is filled in excess, then it will be blown out through the crank case breather, nothing to worry about here. Though in some cases I've heard there's a possibility of blowing a seal.

IMHO: Projectors are not worth the cost. They dont last the distanct/time. I Installed Projector for 2.5K; after 15 days the HID got burnt/fused. Replaced with normal HID without Projector and using for past 3 months. Now Hi beam got spoiled and low beam is ok since last week.Originally posted by Aditya N Bharadwaj View PostHello everyone! I was planning to install a projector on my NS. It's a dual projector kit worth INR 4000 but since im buying only one, it's 2000 for me. I need a projector setup coz I find the stock light to be inadequate, no matter how much I adjust the focus. The owners who have gotten this mod done, is it worth shelling out 2k rupees on it? Or should i go for more expensive ones in case this is too cheap and unreliable? Are there any risks / complications associated with headlight modding apart from the electrical warranty getting void? Should I watch out for ballast problems / battery drain issues in the long run? Lastly are there any maintenance steps I can / should follow after installation? Please help me out as I'm prettyg inexperienced in all this.
Planning to revert to stock as:
1. Not happy with my HID/Projector experience; also put a 3.5K hole in my pocket
2. No increase in the road visibility but it certainly is an inconvenience to oncoming traffic
May be other users/ experts can share their experiences.

Coincidentally, today I got back the sound, in it's loudest form after I did a continuous 150 km ride. It's like the chain simply wants to break free. Today's sound had me worried for sure. In my opinion, the front sprocket is bent, so little that it's hard to make out with the naked eye but enough to cause the sound. I'm gonna go to my svc and give them a piece of my mind. Gonna get my bike back after they've found a solution to it. I hope I don't have to face a replacement. In case I've to change the chain sprocket set, do I have to pay for it or is it covered under warranty?Originally posted by ankur2smart View PostDude are you facing any other prob? And I have no other complaints from my steed, she's running beautifully!
Thanks for your inputs mate! Is your experience one-of-a-kind or are the above mentioned problems usually associated with projector lamps? Other owners, please reply.Originally posted by VijayAlluru View PostIMHO: Projectors are not worth the cost. They dont last the distanct/time. How do you know they poured excess oil ? What oil levels do you see after you've put ur bike on center stand ? Wait few minutes before you check it.
I use LS2 full face helmet & I hardly hear anything when that is on. I was just parking my bike in my society's basement when I discovered that noise.
So yesterday I rode my bike with my bro's half-face helmet. It was then when I realized that the sound is continous

I'd say the kat kat sound is nothing to worry about if it isn't "too loud". When I thoroughly cleaned my chain sometime ago I also started getting some kat kat sound, but I could tell it's nothing wrong & the sound went away on it's own.
I found best way to detect slightest issue in my bike is to ride it for awhile without helmet after midnight... around my neighborhood. When there is complete silence around you, you can clearly make out what noise is coming from what part. Also it's so much fun to ride on empty streets haDon't listen to him. Go for motul 3100 or 5100. buy it yourself if they don't have it in stock.Originally posted by motomax View PostA mechanic at a probiking showroom advised me to go for a fully synthetic oil (motul) at 2800 km on the odo for the second service.I said yes.Was that wise?Last edited by broken87; 02-16-2013, 04:36 PM.

I had a small crash, about 5 months before. The right side tank cowl got badly scratched. Ive been asking the SVC for months. All they say
is "sock not yet received". First they told it would cost around 570/- last week they told it might cost around 800/-....
can anyone throw light on the cost of right side tank ? Mine is a red NS.

sorry to hear about your bitter experience bro but that doesn't mean hid is waste of money.... Well i had a 900 bucks cheapo 6000k hid which served me for 2 years and then i sold it to my friend and its still running after 4 years... Now i have fitted a 4300k hid on my ns and it just turns night into day... I am planning a 3 hid setup for my bike now ie 1 hid in main and two h3 hid plonked in two dlaa fog lamps which i already have... And the 4300k hid have almost zero glare on oncoming traffic.... The color is close to lime yellow...Originally posted by VijayAlluru View PostIMHO: Projectors are not worth the cost. They dont last the distanct/time. Went to SVc after office. Problem solvedOriginally posted by Aditya N Bharadwaj View PostCoincidentally, today I got back the sound, in it's loudest form after I did a continuous 150 km ride. he loosened the bolt next to chain on right side & walaaaaa no more kat-kat sound
I checked the level in the morning. I have also checked it after riding for 15-20 mins. The engine oil indicator window is full with oil, however if I tilt the bike to left side little bit then i can see the level coming down. Hence for sure oil is in excess.Originally posted by broken87 View PostHow do you know they poured excess oil ? What oil levels do you see after you've put ur bike on center stand ? Are the parts which protrude in front from the tank on both sides called tank cowls? If yes, mine's mildly scratched. Asked the svcs and I still get the reply you're getting too, that stock hasn't arrived. Enquired about the price and they said they have to still confirm. Bad customer service!Originally posted by Nithyan.S View PostI had a small crash, about 5 months before. The right side tank cowl got badly scratched. Ive been asking the SVC for months. All they say

Yes, just the hid costs 1000 bucks at the store I checked out at. But is it legal? And I thought of a projector because firstly it's legal AFAIK and secondly it looks uber cool! Now thanks to you, I'm stuck between just the hid and the entire projector setup.Originally posted by Rahulbarik View Postsorry to hear about your bitter experience bro but that doesn't mean hid is waste of money.... Your chain must've been looser or tighter than normal. He would've adjusted the chain and not just loosened the nut.Originally posted by ankur2smart View PostI hope the below pic will help you out. anyways...its good that there's no sound now.Last edited by myth2104; 02-17-2013, 12:02 AM.
