I have clocked around 250 kms up till now,i have tried to follow the Service manual instructions for the Run-in period, and when i do that the Revs never goes above 3.5k on each gear, and the max speed is also mentioned at 48 kms at the 6th gear, Is it ok to go take the revs to 4 to 4.5k on each gear and keep the speed below 60?? as i feel the figures in the manual are too low for this bike and secondly is it absolutely necessary to change the oil before the first service since the oil will be changed in the first service anyways, please advice

No prob at all. Keep the rev within 4-4.5k and if you will, you make take it upto 6k (but occasionally).Originally posted by absarkhan View PostRUN-IN ADVICE NEEDED

No speed post 4000 rpm
Hi, my Pulsar 200ns has already done 5800kms and everything was going well till now. Since yesterday, I have been facing strange issues, I rev my bike but post 4000 rmp, engine starts making sound but bike doesn't move. I searched in google and found, it could be because of worn out clutch plates. Is the life span of clutch plates so short. One more thing I have a pulsar 150, it keeps on moving, even if the clutch plate is worn out. It will have less power but will not do such behavior. What best can be done. Popular bajaj in bangalore says clutch plate needs to be changed. Planning to take it to Auto Service.

Yeah, you put it in a short and sweet way!Originally posted by paths_of_glory View Postso my friends you are suggesting me to forget p220(old tech.) and embrace the new tech. change p200ns without any fear

Yes, do a perfect run-in and expect the best out of your bike for atleast 50,000 kms more, that's the working rule
, then again, all that usage must require the adequate homework (read as maintenance).
Mileage: 47 km/l during run-in and after that, a constant 37 km/l. The drop in mileage is because my riding style later changed and I tuned my carb to the richer side. I get 37 in mixed conditions i.e regular ripping, commuting at low speeds, etc. Highway mileage goes upto 50 (for me) at a steady 65-70 km/h and drops back down to 37 at a cruising speed of 110-120 km/h. I've NEVER gotten below 37 km/l.
Why swap headlights? Since you live in Bengaluru, you can check out JC road and get on a hid+projector setup for ~3000 bucks. Fitting is done at Auto Service Banshankari AFAIK. Check this profile on fb: http://www.facebook.com/sachin.rk.98 Apparently he did the same.Originally posted by ashu_nik View PostHas anybody tried their luck on swapping headlights of 200NS with 220's ?? I am in process to change the headlights 200NS with 220's super headlights. More to come on this tomorrow.

Most of the wear on my bike happens in the highlighted area, doubt this solution would work.. regarding the pad on top of the tank, who sits that far ahead??!!
paths_of_glory, request you to gather all your questions in one post, instead of posting one question every page. Hi Aditya, My requirement are :1. A strong high beam 220's pencil beam is just perfect for my requirement. HID projector setup is not as good as 220's high beam. 2. An intense lower beam - 220's projectors does the justice here.. HID with projectors look good and thats it. 3. A reliable set-up - Fitting HID is no less than a headache if ballast / bulbs give up every now and then. Rs.3000 HID set-ups are nowhere close to be called reliable (Lucky are those guys for whom its running without a glitch)4. Battery health - 220's headlights are plug and play as far as wiring is concerned. Pass switch works fine - lights up only high beamOriginally posted by Aditya N Bharadwaj View PostWhy swap headlights? . HID's will put un-necessary stress on wiring and dry battery. Moreover I have owned 220 before 200NS and always missed the headlights of 220's. They are simply amazing. Above, is my personal opinion and findings after comparing JC road HIDs and 220's reliable setup.
