Like antz.bin said, ride a few kms without using brakes, if it's too hot, you have a problem mate.

I too feel the same. There are many bits as such in the bike which beg for improvement. Advice? Adjust, for now. Or if you can, change the mirror to a concave type (curved inwards in case you didn't know).

Very sad to hear that bro. Hope the rider is well on the road to recovery.

I did this today, and the brake disk was not too hot it was at normal temp but the sound is really annoying, specially at low speed

His collar bone is fractured and due to a hit in his head he went into coma after he reached the hospital. Currently in ICU. The pillion has bruised her hands and legs. Could contact them only once till yet when they were at hospital and were to be attended. I am trying to get to them.

Brake Fluids are available in various colours like Brake Fluid DOT 3 is available in clear, Pale Yellow, Blue & Crimson Red colour, similarly brake fluid DOT 4 is available in Clear, Pale Yellow & Crimson Red colour, brake fluid DOT 5.1 is available Clear, Pale Yellow & Blue colour. Brake Fluid DOT 5 is available in Purple & Violet colour so colour is not a criteria to distinguish between the different types of brake fluids. The color is added in brake fluid to detect the leakage easily and color does not effect the quality of brake fluid.

@^^ Exactly what I meant by my earlier post. If one brake has Red brake fluid, why would BAL factory/svc people use a different colour fluid in the other brake?

Ohh!! Thats Nasty . But all we can do is pray for the rider now. And also hope that your bike can get back to the peak of its health.

This is in continuation to my post regarding 2nd and 3rd free services to be done in 240 days (post #9944). The responses from other members to this are posts # 9947 and 9948.

I took my bike for the 2nd service today at Pioneer Motors Trivandrum. The bike is 4 months old and ran only for 2700 kms. I checked with them and they confirmed that the 2nd free service must be done in 120 days from the date of sale or the specified kms which ever occurs first NOT 240 days. The 3rd free service must be done in 240 days from the date of sale or the specified kms which ever occurs first.
I wanted to confirm this again with another authorised svc. So, I called up Deedi Bajaj and they too said the same.
240 days given in the 2nd free service coupon must be in fact 120 days. The svc also mentioned that their service manual says 120 days. Because of this misinformation svc gives a blind eye to the 120 day rule for the 2nd free service. But is this misinformation? Don't know!
wow.. according to that my 2nd service should be done before 21st of Feb. and I had planned it in March/April. What if I don't do the 2nd one within 120 days ? Warranty void ? tbh I don't feel like sending my NS for the 2nd service just yet, it's also done about 2700kms & it's running fine atm. I'm worried 2nd service might give me more trouble than any good. Have had enough of those lately.

A shocking news but he is lucky enough to escape though his collar bone is fractured. Let us hope he recovers soon.

Just wait for a few more hundred kms and let the brake pads get seated as the mechanics say. A slight rubbing sound, even after that, is normal.
Gap between the brake pads and rotor cannot be adjusted or increased. The only way is allowing some air to the brake fluid but that too does not increase this gap but makes the brake spongy. So, forget it.

General practice is that they will use the coupon of third free service.

I see, by trouble I meant mostly about stuff like increased vibrations. Currently I have vibs around the tank part & those are very tolerable... Other random issues may come who knows man. Getting little things rectified also has become tiresome experience. But ofc I will be taking my bike for 2nd before within a week as I must.

                              Hope this helps.

Bajaj says 90 days from last services. Rather confusing, isn't it.
                                Hope this helps.
A good rule of thumb for most bike service schedules is 3000km/3months.
Since the ns service schedule is every 5000km, once every 4 months, is ok (tho a little short)
                                I checked with a r15 owner - service every 3000km/70 days!!

Touring with the pune xbhp group, i hit the 10k mark in 5months
